Thank you very much for all your time yesterday, and to Dawn for taking us through everything we need to know for the van. A particular thank you for all the time she and you all spent preparing the van, cleaning, replacing fabrics and carpets etc. It is immaculate and will be a pleasure to live in. Our journey home was straightforward, if rather wet, and the van is now safely hooked up at a site near here.
I have let Richard know that if he has any further questions, you have offered to be at the end of a phone, but for the moment he’s going through the paperwork and understanding the technical things he needs to.
I hope you have a good 2020 season, in spite of the obstacles being put in your way, and thanks again for everything.
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday touring the Higlands in a cosy Scottish Tourer motorhome. The Jura was compact and well equipped with everything we needed to suit the needs of the two of us. The satnav helped us to find places off the beaten track and we spent several nights in remote locations surrounded by fabulous views.
The Jura was comfortable and easy to manoeuvre and park and the higher driving position enabled us to enjoy the stunning scenery to the max. We had a comprehensive handover by Dawn at the start and knew that she would be at the end of the phone should we need anything. Corinne made the return handover quick and easy and we were soon on our transfer back to the airport, courtesy of Scottish Tourers.
Thank you for a great holiday, we would love to return again soon and maybe try out the Islay next time!
We rented a Skye Motorhome for one week in September, it certainly was a great adventure. We were motorhome virgins and wanted to try something different from our usual flight and hotel holiday. We picked Scottish Tourers because we were impressed with the website describing luxurious spacious motorhomes of less than one year old, and ideal for couples. The contact and booking process was seamless and we were provided with lots of reassurance and useful information to prepare us for our trip.
We hadn’t actually stepped inside a motorhome until the day we picked up the Skye, but Gordon gave us a very thorough introduction and showed us how everything worked. The interior layout of the motorhome was vey well thought out, we were pleasantly surprised how comfortable the bed was, and how good and efficient the heating and hot water was. Even the toilet surpassed our expectations and we soon got into a rhythm of topping up fresh water, emptying grey waste and dealing with the toilet, but honestly it was all fine.
What we really enjoyed was being on the road, the freedom of just going where you fancied with no firm route in mind. We loved the high seating position, the views and scenery in Scotland are just stunning. It didn’t take long to get use to driving the motorhome, I struggled with correct gear selection for a couple of hours, but I’ve been driving automatic cars for many years. Thankfully we returned the motorhome with no scrapes or knocks, just be careful of your door mirrors and you will be fine.
We stayed in a mix of campsites and wild camping, and our personal preference was for a campsite with mains electric hook-up and all the other facilities to hand. Having said that, the Skye is more than capable of standalone wild camping and we probably just need to be more confident on our next trip now we that know what we’re doing.
A motorhome holiday has been on our bucket list for years, so we can tick that off now. We really had great fun and I can certainly recommend Scottish Tourers for the high spec motorhome and exceptional service, thank you.
We had the most wonderful two week holiday in the Islay motorhome from Scottish Tourer. Corinne, Gordon, and Dawn were so helpful every step of the way, always quick to answer our questions and patient in explaining how everything worked. The Islay was well-equipped, clean, and supremely comfortable. We loved exploring the wild camping sites marked on the satnav, which took us to beautiful, remote places we never could have discovered on our own. Without hesitation, we would recommend Scottish Tourer, and would quite happily book another holiday with them again.
Thank you again. We absolutely loved our holiday and hope to see you again in future!
Our week in the marvellous Skye motorhome was fantastic - it really did feel like a home from home. The Skye was so comfortable and versatile as we toured the west coast. The layout for our family of three worked really well as the space is organised so well. The condition of the Skye was immaculate and we loved the whole experience. We have been lucky to travel all over the world staying at some amazing hotels but we can honestly say this was one of the best holidays we have ever had. We loved it and can't wait to explore more of our beautiful part of the world. We will definitely use Scottish Tourer again but next time we will try out some wild camping. We can't recommend Scottish Tourer or this type of holiday highly enough.
Myself and my wife and my friend and partner hired the Skye motorhome for a week..We travelled up the west coast had a great time visited many places..Scottishtourer motorhomes are outstanding quality spotless inside and out Gordon and Corine could not be anything but professional in there business and also very nice and helpful. We were shown round the motorhome every explained to us and were always on hand if ever needed..I cannot thank them enough for there professional and the information they gave us nothing better than travelling this great country of ours.In a brand new motorhome with all the extras my party had a great time and would not hesitate in recommending SCOTTISH TOURERS to any one thinking about motorhoming. Clean lots of extras in it well worth it I'll be definitely be going back to Scottish Toures for my next motorhome holiday once again thanks Gordon and Corine first class people and first class service and top motorhomes...
Corinne, Dawn and Gordon gave great advice and support before and during our week’s holiday. The Bessacarr was very comfortable, easy to drive and a great base from which to go on long walks, bike rides and fishing trips. We found some beautiful places to stay (Ardfern and Loch Earn) and have taken away some great memories. It has inspired us to go motorhoming again. 5 star rating.
First Class! We can certainly recommend this lovely family business.
Fantastic company to work with! I would book with them again in a heartbeat. Great communication, fantastic motorhome, easy to deal with. More than fair. Do not nickel and dime you to death. Their goal seems to be making sure you have a quality experience. Cannot think of a negative thing to report, but there are lots and lots of positives. Love this company.
Stunning! would describe both the Fabulous Scottish scenery, and the Islay Motorhome from Scottish Tourer. The van was immaculate inside and out and was ideal to tour some of the UK's most iconic routes, in snow, rain, hail, and even a little sunshine! The advice from Gordon and Corinne when we collected the van was first class. we managed to wild-camp 4 out of 6 nights..... Many Thanks, making plans for next road trip already!
From the informative communications about the booking and preparation of route planning though to the collection of the motorhome, every aspect of this company is excellent. Dawn and Gordon were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable giving us more confidence in our first taste of wild camping. The motorhome we rented was the Skye model. It was amazing! It was roomy, comfortable and very well equipped. There was lots of storage and the Sat Nav loaded with very detailed information was so valuable. We had a very enjoyable week and look forward to more motorhome touring.
First time rental/driving a motorhome, took their advice on board about which road to start our travels until we got used to the size of the vehicle, and we were so glad we did, allowed us to get confidence and enjoy the experience from the start. Vehicle was superb, and although we had a lot to learn about water, waste etc the initial hand over gave us all the information we needed. We had planned our route, where we wanted to visit, which was well worth while. We loved every minute and can't thank the team at Scottish Tourers enough for their advice, support and service, can't recommend them enough. This has given us the bug.....
For our first motorhome trip we have just returned from a three week tour of the outer Hebrides. It was a holiday we had been planning for years but we were nervous about hiring a motorhome, we should not have been, from an initial email enquiry the customer service was very personal and efficient with a very helpful attention to detail regarding our route planning. The motorhome itself had everything and more, we wild camped in sheer comfort with the knowledge that we could phone the team anytime should we hit a problem. Thankyou for making our trip an adventure.
My dad and I rented a motorhome for 12 days. The motorhome was top notch, completely modern, and an absolute joy to travel in. ST's service was fantastic too. Everyone is very friendly, they have more recommendations than one could ever need, and one can call them whenever some questions or problems appear. They also charged us very reasonably for a scratch we caused during the trip. If we ever go on a similar trip again, we would definitely go with Scottish Tourer.
We have just returned home after a fantastic week away on our Scottish adventures covering just under 800 miles. We picked up the motorhome after a comprehensive walk around explaining all the features and how things worked by Dawn and off we went, the motorhome was immaculate and easy to drive despite being 8m long. We tried a few nights away wild camping and found some truly amazing places and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The motorhomes come complete with everything you will ever need for your trip including a fully loaded satnav showing you wild camping spots, campsites, water stops etc etc, The whole process from start to finish was very professional and the service from all the family was first class and any questions we had for them got answered very quickly. I would highly recommend Scottish Tourers for anyone looking to rent a motorhome and are already looking to return with them next year. A massive thank you to you all
Perfection. We rented a motorhome with Scottish Tourer in may for 10 days and I can say with no doubts that it was the best rental experience I ever had. No hidden fees, no problems, motorhomes in perfect conditions, very clean. They include in the price what for most of other rental companies is an extra charge (i.e. outdoor chairs and table); and a GPS with golden information for your trip (wild camping spots, tap water points etc.) Booking, pick up and drop off very easy; they don’t look for the little scratch to charge you extra money, they enjoyed to see their vehicle well treated, they want to make sure you live an amazing experience in their beautiful country. During the rental period they are always available by phone in case you have a doubt/problem. When I’ll go back to Scotland I will definitely rent with them again; It was a pleasure!!! Keep up the amazing job and thank you for the beautiful experience!
My family and I can highly recommend Scottish Tourer as from the start of the booking process they were amazing. Able to help tailor make our holiday that was best suited to us. The wild camping was phenomenal and everything was loaded on the Tom Tom which made life so easy for us on the road. The campervans were in supreme condition, clean, new and beautiful! Our experience from start to finish was fantastic. Bravo Scottish Tourer and thanks for the very memorable holiday.
We were picked up from Edinburgh Airport to take us to the Perth depot. We were shown round our motorhome (Islay model) and provided succinct instructions on how to operate everything, including the emptying and refilling of the waste etc. An excellent handover. We roughly followed the west coast route provided by Scottish Tourer, adjusted for our 7 day trip. The Sat Nav was really good, including showing the location of wild camps. The equipment on the motorhome was excellent, like home from home. TV signal was a bit hit and miss but we were touring round and was glad to get away from the TV!
We hired a motorhome ( A Swift Islay) for 8 days from Scottish Tourer.
They had been recommended to us, and the early communications were all so clear and professional, that we decided to ‘take the plunge’ for our first motorhome adventure with them.
We have not been disappointed.
The motorhome was well spec’d, and instructions on how to use the equipment were done sufficiently well enough to make us feel semi-confident driving off.
We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure in the West of Scotland, and Scottish Tourer were always available as back-up if we ever needed it.
(we did in fact call on a few occasions (one time a Saturday evening), and nothing was too much trouble to answer the queries.
They ‘do what is said on the tin’, and more. They were always very pleasant to deal with.
So much so, we have enquired about hiring again !
Btw, our motorhome adventure was top-class too.
The second year running we’ve hired a motorhome from Scottish Tourer. This time it was the “Skye” for a trip through the Highlands, the West Coast and Outer Hebrides – the Hopscotch ticket from CalMac Ferries together with the suggested routes and wild camping spots shown on the SatNav proved with the motorhome made this so easy and enjoyable. Terrific scenery with some wonderful beaches and great roads.
Again the service provided by Scottish Tourer was excellent. We were collected from Edinburgh Airport, shown around the motorhome and were soon on our way. Corrine even allowed us to take their shuttle bus to local supermarket for some shopping prior to departure – what service. On return, a quick check over the vehicle by Dawn and we were taken back to the airport. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday with excellent service from the Scottish Tourer team - highly recommended. We will be hiring from Scottish tourer again next year.
Dave and Liz – Kent
We sailed from Gills Bay to St Margaret’s Hope with Pentland Ferries. It was an hour’s crossing.
Orkney is very well set up for motor homes. Every wee harbour has a big long hose that you can top up with clean water. Every beach has public toilets with an outside tap. They were immaculately clean. There are loads of places to park with stunning views and we did not use a campsite once. No liquid gas though so need to be full before you go.
When we were there (first week in June) it was very, very cold and extremely windy so best to go prepared for all weathers.
It is a very beautiful island, hugely agricultural with plenty to do and see.
Thank you to all at Scottish Tourer for their attention to detail and very good customer service. The motorhome was superb was well equipped with everthing that was required. I would have no hestitation in recommendingto anyone thinking of enjoying a luxury touring experience to contact Scottish Tourers whom I am certain will be only to able to advise on what van to hire and if you are new to touring are able to provide excellent touring routes and and wild camping sites.
“We’ve just returned from such a great holiday in our Scottish Tourer Motorhome. A great experience from the time we contacted Dawn to the time we returned the vehicle. The rental process was really efficient, Dawn and the team were very friendly and offered great advice and the “Skye” motorhome was immaculate and had everything in it we could possibly need. Thank you!”
Thanks once again. We really enjoyed our holiday in our little home!
Thank you Gordon and everyone for a wonderful vacation.
Your motorhome and service were exceptional. I have nothing but good things to say about your company.
United States of America
On our "bucket list" for some time, we decide to hire a motorhome from Scottish Tourer and explore the Outer Hebrides. The Islay 4-berth motorhome more than met our expectations. It was comfortable and adequate space for a retired couple. Fully equipped with all we needed,shower/wc,cooker, fridge, TV, wifi and specially programmed sat-nav by the company to identify campsites, etc. The Islay made a perfect home for our 10 day trip through some of the most stunning scenery we have ever experienced. It was easy to drive and although we were a little apprehensive at first, getting on and off island ferries was no problem at all.
We hired a motor home for our first visit to Scotland, the service was exceptional as was the motor home. The motor home was only a month old, as was all of the fleet (they change them every year), and was just the right specification for our holiday, everything we needed was provided as well as a detailed sat nav with camping spots and facilities pre-programmed. The handover at collection and drop off was very efficient with little fuss. We were provided with an appropriate level of instruction and were able to park our car in a secure garage so we knew it would be safe whilst we were on holiday. Scotland is a glorious country and we will visit again in one of these Motorhomes.
"For our first motorhome trip in Scotland with a 5 years old girl, we looked for several rental companies on Internet. If Scottish Tourer seems at first more expensive, note that their motorhomes are fully equipped: with other companies, you will have to add a GPS nav (you won't always have enough coverage to use your smartphone for that), outdoor chairs and table, a second driver, etc. So at the end there will be no differences. And their motorhome are brand new too ! They are well thought and designed, and we never felt cramped, even at three on rainy days.
We really had a very great time in Scotland, and the smoothness of the hiring played a big part in it, from the first contacts by email (direct access to this very accessible family team) to the drop-off at the airport when we left. The team is very nice, their advice are really valuable, and the fact that they can be reach anytime during the trip is very reassuring. They supply freely a GPS that is fully loaded with wild camp spots, public toilets, water taps and so on, so you won't have to worry about when and where to stop. When needed, just select the nearest spot and go ! This is a must have, it really helped to enjoy our trip in total trust.
We will recommand them without hesitation to anyone who wish to try the adventure, and we already know with whom we'll go the day we want to redo it.
A really big "thank you" to Corinne, Gordon and Dawn !"
From the first minute we had the feeling that it was the right decision to choose Scottish Tourer! The booking was very uncomplicated and very friendly from the first contact. One reason why we chose Scottish Tourer was because the motorhomes are fitted with a lot of extras already included in the price. At other hirers one would have to pay for all the additional equipment like camping table, barbecue or GPS navigation. Only the interface for connecting an iPod to the car's radio was not available as described.
As we arrived in Perth we were well received with a very good coffee and a nice talk. The introduction to the motorhome was very good. Corrine and Gordon answered every question patiently. After 30 minutes we could start to put our stuff into the camper. We could leave our empty suitcases at Corrine's and Gordon's home which saved a lot of space in the motorhome- a great service! The support was very good throughout the whole trip. We had a small accident where we lost our right mirror. Gordon gave us instructions what to do and after a few hours we could continue our journey. Returning the motorhome was also absolutely uncomplicated. The motorhome had two dents caused by the accident. The costs for the repair and for the new mirror where totally fair and we did not feel screwed at all.
We can recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone who is looking for a fair and friendly hirer with a familiarly atmosphere and great service. We would definitely decide to hire at Scottish Tourer any time again.
We enjoyed our time in the Motor Home from the word go and had 2 weeks of complete relaxation and enjoyment. We always felt that if we needed you (like when we needed to find Cove) that you would be there to help and found that very reassuring. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, it won’t be our last!
First Time Motorhomers, look no further. We had 9 nights to fill in late September and as always the West Coast beckoned. After a search for a rental company we were attracted by the appeal of a ‘luxury’ motor home for a couple. From the start all our dealings with Gordon, Corinne and Dawn were responded to swiftly and all our questions were answered.
The pick-up day dawned, advice was given and routes were discussed. The motor home was spotless and in great condition.
The holiday flew by and yet felt longer as we stayed in a different place each night, planning to hook-up at a site every 3rd night. Wild camping is the ‘way ahead’, such fun. We survived the aftermath of an Atlantic storm and had the best of holidays. The beauty of a camper is that if the weather changes, you can always respond and go somewhere else (within reason!). Having explored the West Coast around the Ardnamurchan, Sunart and Moidart, we headed East earlier than planned and walked a few Monro’s west of the Cairngorms.
This is luxury camping and to have a warm and cosy home at the end of the day, with a quiet and awesome view was amazing. So many happy times, we anticipate returning next year to explore another area in a Scottish Tourer. Thank you Gordon, Corinne and Dawn. Enjoy your well earnt post-season break.
The Scottish tourer motor home was fantastic the moment we picked it up until the moment we dropped it of. The motor home had everything you required. It was a new experience to us and we travelled from Aviemore to Cannich to Ullapool to Applecross then to Pitlochry. The views we seen and the varied pubs we ate in were all brilliant. It was a great experience and we will do it again.
Thank you so much for all your help and support for our holiday in one of your vans last week. The weather was fabulous and so was the route you recommended to us. Your plan of the West Coast Route was easy to follow and we saw some fab places along the way. There was everything we needed in the van and it felt like holidaying with a hotel on wheels, with different views each day and wild camping along the way, I would highly recommend your company to hire a van from!
Hope to see you again in a couple of years!
We looked at various motorhome rental companies on the internet. We were very impressed with the info on your website and Gordon was the first and only representative to return our enquiry email. His enthusiasm and all the info in numerous email replies left us with no other choice as to rent from you.
Right from the start when Corinne picked up at the airport, our excitement grew. We absorbed all the additional info she offered. Based on Dawn’s suggestion Corinne loaded Kingsbarns wild camping site on the GPS as our first stop. Here we met one of the many very friendly Scottish people. She sat down with us over the map and provided many good suggestions. She even gave me her glasses to replace mine left on the desk in your workshop.
The 7 days touring through Scotland in your camper must be the best holiday me and Willis had in our lifetime. The camper was perfect for our requirements, well kitted out and the GPS became a constant companion. We used the wild camp positions extensively, even if only as a good lead to nice view spot. The recommendations in you manual almost all came true. From the ferries at Ullapool to the deer at Applecross.
And on return to Perth, my glasses were still in the basket. We can gladly recommend Scottishtourer to anyone.
Its been a week since we returned our Scottish Tourer Islay Motorhome and we are still missing it. We loved our three weeks in our home away from home. It was perfect – well thought out, comfortable and the facilities were excellent. We covered just over 1300miles from Perth through Arbroath, Aberdeen, Ballater, over the Cairngorms to the Outer Hebrides and back. The highlights for us was the drive from Glenmorangie to Ullapool on A837 along the Oykel river, the wild and beautiful landscape of Harris, the Trossachs (especially Loch Katrine), St Andrews and the view from Crail across the sea to the isle of May. And then there was the local food & drink we could buy, cook and eat in our van – Arbroath & Stornoway smokies, Scottish smoked salmon, Crabbies ginger beer, local lamb, cheese...
We had an amazing 8 day trip experiencing so many different terrains and landscapes, going to sleep hearing the water wash against the shore, waking up with breathtaking views.... there’s no other type of holiday you could experience this much in so few days. Everything had been thought of, all we needed was our clothes, toiletries and basic food supplies and we were completely self sufficient to roam and wild camp with minimal planning or set times to be anywhere... so different to our usual holidays and so relaxing just going with the flow! We will definitely be doing this again.
Collecting van very easy with comprehensive instruction on use plus handy tips from Gordon and Corinne (also pay attention to pre collection tip of not bringing too much stuff!). We wild camped every night, including the final night and therefore had some fantastic views not available in campsites.
We travelled to Loch Linnie, then to the Black Isle and around the North Coast 500, ending with an overnight stop in Aviemore and then Kingsbarns, all in 10 days. We still managed to visit Culloden, Cawdor Castle, Scotland's Secret Bunker and some distilleries as well as sample some fantastic seafood, The Seafood Shack in Ullapool is a must provided the weather is dry!
Our additional tips and hints would be:
Cemetries are your friend in terms of filling up with water as there is often a water stand near the entrance gate and many of them have some very pretty churches to visit too, plus the opportunity to give a donation for the water you have just topped up with!
Aim to fill with water as early in the day as possible so you don't have to worry about it later (also some of the water stops on the sat nav have changed e.g. some Gleaner garages have converted to water/ air taps and so are not so useful.
Do not worry if the spot you had decided to camp at is full as we found some really beautiful spots just a little further on, the wildcamp point of interest feature on the sat nav is really useful in this situation.
Broxden Services has water handy for filling up on the final morning, remember that some toilets are only open after 9am which is possibly relevant if you wildcamp on your final night. The ones on the Fife side of the Tay Bridge open earlier so it is possible to wildcamp on the final night in Fife or Dundee and still fill up with everything before you return the van.
We would give our holiday and the service from Scottish Tourers 5 stars (out of 5!)
To any potential customer looking to hire a motorhome from a business that goes above an beyond to please the customer it has to be Scottish Tourer, why because from the moment I enquired regarding a motorhome to hire within the peak tourist time with Scotland Gordon went above and beyond working in with me to allow me to get my money back from a failed booking to secure a motorhome from him. From the minute we arrived in Edinburgh and met the family who run the business to the last day of our tour the customer service did not stop. The motorhomes themselves are A1 brand new fully equiped with everything you may need, when researching other companies there were extra costs for this and that, ie: table, chairs, BBQ, km's things you do not think about when hiring a vehicle for your holiday especially when you travel from Australia. Scottish Tourer vehicles came with the lot. This is not a sales pitch this is a true and honest opinion regarding the customer service and the product they supply. To Gordon, Corrine & Dawn, who I might state supplied freshly baked short bread biscuits that were amazing, I can not guarantee this will happen for you but you just may never know. Thank you so much guys for the experience of seeing my fathers birth nation in comfort and style, I travelled about 1200 km's in style and the fuel economy is amazing. Like I stated and the time of handover is maybe a traffic laws package for customers that come form the other side of the globe and the Tom Tom position to allow for better viewing for drivers.
Guys I can't thank you enough.
We really enjoyed the week but it was quite daunting considering the size of the van and the narrowness of some of the Scottish roads but both the van and ourselves survived!
We did all of your recommended Western coast route apart from Applecross, but that was due to poor weather so we decided to give it a miss.
This was the first time we had covered this area of Scotland and the scenery is stunning despite the weather.
Your recommended campsites at Ullapool, Arasaig and Stirling were great, we did one wild camp near Loch Carron which was fine, with the wild camp info on the sat nav really useful.
We also used Loch Fyne Oyster Bar another great recommendation, it was excellent.
A couple of things on the van and hand over.
There is a lot of info to take in on your handovers so for the first day or so your not quite sure whats what on the van, so maybe some laminated check sheet/idiot guides for the hot water, charging and water systems would help.
We found the position of the television a problem with both of us banging our heads on it. We thought it would be better sited on the driver side of the shower room.
We found parking the van a problem one or twice with Oban especially an issue. We had earmarked Roseview campsite for the overnight stop but thought it would be to far out of town to walk in, but having given up on the parking we went there and it was only a 40 minute walk on a quiet single track road. We thought the campsite was good, not to the Arisaig standard but fine.
Maybe some parking recommendations for places like Oban if its possible.
That's it really, thanks for supplying a campervan in immaculate condition we had a great holiday.
Scottish Tourer Comment:
Thank you for taking the time to review us it is very much appreciated and we hope to see you again.
There are quick start guides in the Motorhome instruction pack and we are always available by phone .. However we agree that its a lot of information to take in on hand over especially for first timers. In Oban there are 8 designated motorhome parking bays near Tesco supermarket which are on the Sat Navs we supply... but we will make sure in future people heading to that area are aware of that. We agree about the TV position but that’s the only place it can be sited for viewing in the lounge and then also turned to view in the bedroom... motorhomes are very compact and sometimes it compromise of what goes where.
We recently hired the luxury Skye motor home from Scottish Tourers in Perth.
The motor home was perfect for our week long break touring Scotland. Considering the size of it, it was very economical to run. The island bed was another bonus, no bed to make up or tidy away and it was comfortable. The swivel seats make the van even more roomy. It was definitely just what you need for touring. Gordon and Corinne explained how it all worked before we left (which is really quite easy).
We will be hiring again!
My experience in dealing with Scottish Tourer could not have been easier for a first time Motorhome user this year. I found the booking process to be simple and effective and I also found the orientation of the Motorhome to be simple and well articulated for someone who was clueless about how a Motorhome works - the team made us feel very at home, comfortable and confident.
The Motorhome itself was immaculate and faultless and I could not have been happier with this product and the touring information, maps and GPS provided by the team - which all helped make our holiday a superb experience.
Cannot recommend Scottish Tourer highly enough.
From the very first time we contacted Gordon and Corinne to the time we sadlhad to return the motorhome it was a very pleasurable experience and would highly recommend it to everyone.
We hired the Kontiki 625 the top of the range model and we can't fault anything about it, apart from the noise of the cutlery and dishes when travelling but this was a minor issue (just turn the music up ☺).
We had always wanted to do this and will certainly be doing it again in the near future. In the model we hired we had lovely Personnal touches i.e. Bath robes, slippers, tablet and a wee Scottish dram.
It was good to be able to chase the sun and be spontaneous. Enjoyed being able to stop anywhere on the road and make lunch or dinner. Was a wonderful adventure.
So looking forward to our next adventure.
So happy motorhoming people.
Gordon and Corinne were amazing from the word go, we couldn't rate them high enough! The motorhome was brand new and had everything you could possibly need, literally turn up grab some food and your all set!
I would say that the particular model we had needed a bit more thought from the factory in terms of 'rattle-prevention' as it was very noisy driving along, even with our best efforts to pack around everything in the kitchen. But on a whole, easy to drive, comfortable, economical and clean! Thanks for helping us enjoy our first highlands tour.
Thanks Scottish Tourer for a wonderful holiday. We used the wild camping suggestions for each night of our 7 day holiday and got to stay in some fantastic quiet and remote locations. It was this idea that first attracted us to use this company.
The Motorhome was first class, well equipped and maintained. The tips given by Corrinne and Gordon helped with the wild camping enabling us to use all the facilities the motorhome had to offer.
We saw some of the more remote areas of Scotland that we would not have visited, thanks to the wild camping sites.
We are already looking at dates to book again.
TOP NOTCH MOTORHOMES AND SERVICE - If you're looking for excellent quality in a Motorhome to tour Scotland and the Islands along with a top notch service, look no further than Scottish Tourer Motorhomes. We rented last year and enjoyed the experience so much that we booked immediately on our return home for this year. Not just for ourselves but my in-laws as well. We all wanted to do a 2 week tour of the northern part of Scotland, Outer Hebrides and the Kintyre Peninsula. The Kontiki and Skye models afforded all the comfort we needed and more. Gordon, Corinne and Dawn presented us with 2 exceptionally clean motorhomes for our trip that were well equipped and ready to go once we had undergone our thorough orientation.
Again the TomTom provided us with details of wild camp areas, water etc and was a great asset to have. We had one or two queries on things during our trip and both Corinne and Gordon were extremely helpful on the phone and didn't seem to mind us calling. Soooo helpful. In return, we let them know that one of the council run chemical disposal points at the Harris Port of Leverburgh had closed and been removed 3 days prior to us arriving, that way they could let other clients know and update their own information.
Scottish Tourer have thought of everything when it comes to providing a motorhome and service for a wonderful care free holiday in a very special part of the world. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND them and look forward to booking again in the future for another adventure.
We have just returned from a weeks holiday touring the west coast of Scotland in a Skye model motorhome hired from Scottish Tourers of Perth.
As newbees to motorhome hire we were a bit apprehensive but we can honestly say that this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had!
From our 1st enquiry email to Gordon until we handed the van back at the end of our holiday the service was exemplary. Gordon emailed us routes and information before hand which let us plan our trip.
When we arrived to pickup the motorhome Gordon, Corinne and Dawn were very welcoming and friendly. All necessary details were taken and information given out in an organised and professional manner.
Helpful tips were given on driving, routes, campsites etc before we left. The information contained in the sat nav was invaluable and made things so much easier. It was so reassuring to know that if there were any problems then either Gordon or Corinne could be called for advice.
The motorhome was luxurious and immaculately clean and so well equipped that there was nothing I can say that we needed that wasn't included.
We hope to do this this type of holiday again next year but for longer - there is so much more to see &do. We will definitely use Scottish Tourers again and would recommend this company to anyone considering this type of holiday!
FANTASTIC MOTORHOME, FANTASTIC COMPANY, FANTASTIC HOLIDAY
We would like to say a big thank you to both of you for setting us up so well for what turned out to be a memorable tour. We'd hoped for an old fashioned road trip .. starting each day and not being really sure where we would end it... and that’s exactly what we got. Your welcome, support and advice, and of course the vehicle itself (with it’s sat nav) all contributed hugely to that end.
Needless to say life hasn’t been the same since. I can’t find reverse, I keep looking for a non existent sixth gear and I’ve no idea where the handbrake is! Di decided on the way home that she couldn’t see anything out of the car window as its so low compared to the Motorhomes so buried her head in a paper for the next three hours. The worst part however was when we got to that time of the day when we would have been starting to think where we might spend the night…!
Just arrived back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Scotland in a Scottishtourer Islay. It was well equipped and very comfortable, my husband loved the Captains chair that swivelled, he always sat there!
I'm sure you will find your own way of doing things, but a tip about travelling without the pots rattling... I put them all in a box wrapped in kitchen roll and just got out what we needed to eat, washed them and then put back in the box, left it at floor level when we travelled. It worked really well for us.
A couple of really good sites that we stayed on we're Blair Athol Castle site, Sands at Gairloch, almost like wild camping in the sand dunes, but with all the facilities and fabulous beach walks, then Silver Sands at Lossiemouth, it has a lot of facilities that we didn't use, but the main attraction is that it is right next to RAF Lossiemouth. We were entertained daily by Eurofighters practising manoeuvres - heaven - no need to go to an airshow this year. Again lovely beach walks and seals and a whale did a somersault for us.
Loved waving to other Motorhome vehicles, it was part of the fun of driving about.
I chose Scottish Tourer because they have new vehicles every year, and because everything was included up front, we knew what we were paying for. I highly recommend them and hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did.
From our first enquiry with you, to saying cheerio at the end of the holiday, we have nothing but praise for the service you offer.
The Skye motor home was superb and was presented in excellent order throughout. The whys and wherefores were explained before setting off on our weeks holiday.
Our intention to travel the West Coast routes, which you supplied via the Tom Tom sat nav, led us to the Black Isle and Skye. The scenery was spectacular, and was matched by the weather, which we requested, and you supplied!!
We would say to anyone considering this type of holiday, do it, you will not be disappointed. Do it with Scottish Tourer (Gordon & Corinne) we cannot recommend them highly enough, after a holiday to remember...
We decided to do a trip we always considered doing but never have before we got to old to enjoy it.
We decided to hire a motor home for 10 days in Scotland, but had no idea who to hire from so after much research decided to take a chance with 'Scottish Tourer'.
We are very glad we did as the total service we received was FIRST CLASS & so was the Skye Motor Home.
On arrival at vendors premises in Perth we received a very warm welcome from Gordon, Corrine & Dawn.
They showed us everything relative about the Motor Home which took quite a while, but then we were on our way to the Outer Hebrides Via. Oban to Barra then across all the islands exploring the history and sights along the way & then returning to main land from Stornoway to Ullapool, then a good drive down to Perth to return the Motor Home for its final inspection in our care, the inspection was quick and easy then we were back into what felt like a small car to return home.
The routes supplied by Gordon are very detailed and informative also the sat nav is very well programmed with almost everything you need to know.
We really enjoyed the holiday and now have some nice memories to look back on.
Thank you for your kind attention and hard work in providing us with a superb Motorhome and all the extra information that made our three week adventure around the highlands of Scotland so enjoyable. We had long thought it would be a great idea, but your reassurance from our first contact last October, made us believe that it was actually possible for folk who are new to Motorhomes and apprehensive about driving one around the Scottish Highlands.
Your first-hand experience and knowledge of the area helped us plan our trip even before we left home. The excellently equipped Swift Skye made wild camping very comfortable and we found some amazing places to stay. In three weeks we explored the Black Isle, headed up the East Coast and had a day trip as passengers over to Orkney. An easy drive along the single track roads along the north coast, then back, taking our time to enjoy the scenery, down the west coast with a detour to Skye. The landscape is simply stunning (we did have good weather) and a Motorhome a practical way to experience this wild and remote area. Your recommendations for campsites, when we used them, at Kinloch (on Skye) and Arisaig were excellent.
We are left with a great sense of achievement, very happy memories of sights seen, amazing scenery and lots of unanticipated but joyful surprises along the way! We would recommend Scottish Tourers to anyone thinking of planning a similar trip because of the prompt, personal and professional attention that we received from Gordon and Corinne from our initial enquiry, until we returned the Motorhome.
We have just returned home following two weeks spent exploring the north of Scotland and the Western Highlands in one of Gordon and Corinne's luxury Skye Motor homes.
The word Luxury sums up everything about Scottish Tourers and Gordon and Corrine.
Their motor homes are specified and equipped to the highest level as well as being extremely comfortable. The level of service, from first enquiry to handing back the motor home at the end of your holiday, is top notch. Nothing is too much trouble.
Their 'pre-flight checks' with you before you get behind the wheel are comprehensive and stand you in good stead for when you hit the road. The Sat Nav, programmed with countless wild campsites, water stops, toilet stops and heaven knows what else, is indispensible They are always just a 'phone call away', but luckily we didn’t need to make use of this.
During our two weeks we saw stunning scenery, met a lot of very nice people and had a brilliant time.
This was the second time we have hired from Scottish Tourer and the enjoyment we had first time round was easily replicated. This time we did the NC500, and once again we really loved life on the road in a fantastically kitted out and comfortable ‘home’ for the duration of our hire. As was the case last time, Gordon and Corinne were brilliant to deal with and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After both our experiences with Scottish Tourer it is hard to even contemplate considering any other alternatives to their excellent service and motorhome fleet.
There are quite a few things to say in regard to reviewing our holiday with Scottish Tourer. The first is about the quality of the motor home itself - it was brand new, just 20 miles on the clock. It was perfect for our 2 person needs, and made a rather wet week into a hugely enjoyable road trip.
The second is to note the very good quality pre-rental service. The information was timely, clear and detailed. Although we did struggle to find the house on arrival as we were expecting to enter a mobile home parking lot. But that's because we didn't read the information well enough.
The 'in holiday service' was not necessary as we were given an excellent explanation of how all the gadgets in the mobile home worked before we set off, but had we struggled as novice mobile homers, the availability of the staff 24/7 on the phone was reassuring.
On returning the vehicle we had a friendly and courteous experience despite the 'novice' errors we had made: not filling the LPG up enough, not filling up with water, not sufficiently emptying the loo. All of which were dealt with nicely and without drama.
Although we were a bit fortunate the van did not have to go out for another day or two.
The holiday itself was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was not a cheap holiday... but was absolutely the best way to see Scotland- even and perhaps especially, in bad weather. We had a truly great experience.
We hired a motorhome for the first time this October, fantastic holiday. Motorhome was great, very well equipped, clean and with lots of extras. This was the last week the motorhome was being used as it was the end of the season and it was in fantastic condition just like brand new and had been well looked after. The sat nav was pre programmed with lots of incredibly useful information including toilet and water stops, camp sites and wild camp sites etc which made wild camping so easy. We wild camped most nights which was great, 2 nights at campsites Glencoe and Applecross; both campsites were well equipped and clean but we preferred the wild camping. The weather was very kind so we were able to use the outdoor chairs and bbq which were provided and the kids made occasional use of the TV &dvd player before bedtime. The living accommodation was very comfortable with plenty of room for our family of 4. Communication and service from Gordon and Corrine was second to none we will definitely be booking again. The most relaxing holiday we have had in years. Just fabulous!
After an amazing holiday last year we are back again to enjoy the open roads, in the slightly longer Bolero this year, the larger bathroom across the back of the unit made all the difference (had the luxury Bessacar last year). We managed to navigate several hairy roads including the Torridon Mountain Pass, the roads to Lochgoilhead and Helensborough, most memorable was the Pass of the Cattle coming up out out Applecross which was interesting at times but the scenery makes up for the switchback roads. The sun was pretty constant throughout our week after just one frosty start and the autumn colours amazing if a little later than last year. The sunrises and sunsets especially at Loch Morlich and Arisaig breathtaking. Taking the bikes is always an added bonus so we cycled the Old Logging Way from Morlich into Aviemore - easier going downhill for about 5 miles, a little more strenuous back to the motorhome. I could write a journal of all the places we visited and the places we plan to go next year but that's for another day. Gordon and Corinne were there for back up if needed but everything was spot on. The motorhome had everything we needed and more, perhaps an extra pillow wouldn't go a miss, but then we may stay in the comfy bed all day and not enjoy the beautiful highlands. We may have to go twice next year to try the far north! Thanks again for a wonderful experience.
What a FANTASTIC holiday we just experienced having just visited the Scottish Highlands which without doubt has to be one of the most beautiful areas to be found anywhere in the world... my wife and I now believe that there is NO better way to enjoy the fabulous sights, scenery and attractions of Scotland than to travel by Motorhome and not just any motorhome but a current year luxury motorhome supplied by Scottish Tourer of Perth. As this was our first experience of motorhoming and wild camping (our choice to wild camp) we wanted to make sure that we did our research of available suppliers before committing to this type of holiday and it gives me great pleasure to say that we could not have chosen better... Gordon &Corrine could not have been more helpful or attentive from booking the motorhome to vehicle collection and return of what was a luxury hotel room on wheels. Our next adventure is already in the planning for 2017... and cannot wait to see you both then.
As we went for the top of the range Kontiki, we loved it and were probably spoilt... we couldn't have wished for a better motorhome to use for the areas of Scotland that we toured.
One oversight on our behalf was that due to the length of the Kontiki it pushed us into the 8m-10m ferry crossing category, which would work out at quite an extra cost if you were island hoping. It might be worth mentioning this on your site to advise people like us that have never hired a motorhome or used the Island ferry's before. Based on our experience and wanting to do this part of Scotland again, if we were to buy a Motorhome I would keep it under 8m for this very reason, so this has been a very useful experience.
The only issues we could think of that may improved the experience, as we were hiring for two weeks, we could have done with a spare set of bedding and towels... we mainly wild camped, so wash facilities were at a minimum... The other thing was when we came back into the motorhome with wet clothes, we had no where to hang them to dry, It could do with a foldable clothes rack that was maybe stored in the garage or a retractable clothes line that you could temporally pull across two points inside.
These are only minor points and overall we have an experience that will be a great memory for the rest of our lives and that has encouraged us to buy a motorhome in the not too distant future. We would like to rent another motorhome with you at some point, only this time try one a little smaller and a different layout, to help us decide what works for us.
Thank you for your collection service and allowing us to use one of your fantastic motorhomes...
Scottish Tourer Comment:
The Kontiki is right on the verge of 8 metres long... Normally the Calmac Ferries personnel will allow you the rate under 8 metres but will depend on the individual booking you on. When we are touring we just normally stop off at a laundrette at a campsite and do our laundry there. However we will offer two sets in future and thank you for pointing this out. Wet clothes we will hang in the shower room when travelling or under the awning to dry off when stationary.
My husband and I rented a motorhome from Gordon and Corinne in September 2016. We had a wonderful experience! From my first inquiry email Gordon was very helpful and responsive. Every question I asked was usually replied to within 24 hours. He sent maps of potential routes, and photos, and made me even more excited for our trip! Once we arrived the pick up at the airport was easy, they were exactly where they said they would be at the exact time. The pick up of the motorhome went smoothly. Corinne explained everything we needed to know very thoroughly. And we were reassured quite a few times that if we had issues, or forgot anything, they were just a phone call away. I appreciated how calm and easygoing both Gordon and Corinne were. Driving away in someone's very expensive motorhome somehow made me a lot more nervous than picking up a rental car, but they made it easy. Gordon and Corinne had included not only a Tom Tom filled with marked spots (campsites, wild camping sites, water taps, as well as tourist points of interests) but also a full road atlas of Scotland and a laminated binder of the routes they had mailed us.
Our 12 days in the motorhome were amazing! We got the smallest of the offered sizes, which worked very well for us. We traveled down some very tiny roads on the west coast, parked in some very small and very full parking areas, and had to pull quite a few u-turns when I made my husband go back for a photo of an adorable hairy cow, and we never had a problem. The motorhome was surprisingly easy to handle. We had plenty enough room for the two of us inside. We ended up emptying the toilet and filling up on water every two or three days. It was easy to find a place to do both of those things thanks to the Tom Tom, we just followed along each day and inevitably there would be something along our route. We opted to wild camp every night except the last, and it was a great decision! The ability to pull over whenever you saw a beautiful vista you wanted to wake up to was awesome. The only thing we couldn't use without power hook up was the microwave, but we didn't need it.
The return of the motorhome was equally as easy. We drove to the yard (address was laminated in the motorhome so it was easy to find again) unloaded our luggage, Gordon did a quick walk around,a nd we were on our way! And the refundable deposit was wired back to us within 2 days.
This was our first experience ever with a motorhome, and we are hooked! My favorite part was the ease it gave the trip. We took several hikes, and upon returning it was so great to be able to just close the blinds and have plenty of room to change out of wet clothes and have a snack before continuing on our way. And in the evenings, once we were done driving/exploring for the day, we just found a spot to park, pulled over, and were drinking wine within 2 minutes. No checking in, unpacking, etc. necessary. I loved it!
So long story short, go to Scotland, rent a motorhome, and make sure you rent it from Gordon and Corinne. You will not be disappointed!!
From our first contact with Scottish Tourer we were impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. Both written and verbal communication was excellent and completion of the booking was very straight forward. Gordon and Corinne have considered everything when it comes to the comfort and practicality of the motorhomes they provide, particularly when it comes to wild camping. We rented the Bessacarr for a week and toured our way from their base up to the very north coast of the mainland, along part of the Moray Firth and through the Cairngorms National Park via Braemar. All the information of suggested routes and wild camping spots was fantastic and was sent via email after our booking was made, so we could plan our route. The availability of the Tom Tom GPS with wild camp details, water location etc was also a bonus and a lot of thought had clearly been given to make life as easy as possible for their clients. Our motorhome was very clean on collection and orientation of the vehicle both inside and out was thorough and well explained.
Gordon and Corinne provide an excellent way to see the beautiful country of Scotland in comfort and we have already booked for 2 weeks next year and we can see many more years of bookings and exploring to come.
We have just finished a fantastic 2 week trip around Scotland courtesy of Gordon and Corinne in the Scottish Tourer Motorhome Having extensively researched hire companies and options for traveling around Scotland I was confident that we had made the right choice in selecting Scottish Tourers as each contact was very efficient and the provision of suggested itineraries and details of stops and points of interest only reinforced this further. From the pick up at Edinburgh Airport to the drop off at Edinburgh train station at the end of our trip nothing was too much trouble and the the whole experience (a first for us) was very smooth and most enjoyable.
Gordon and Corinne encouraged us to make contact at any time and to have this back up was very reassuring - indeed when we needed to clarify how to refill the gas this was dealt with immediately and very supportively. During our trip we travelled 1,300 miles over the 2 weeks from the East Coast through the middle of the highlands, across to Skye and south to the Mull of Kintyre and saw lots of Scotland and loved every minute.
We mixed up the use of camping sites and wild camping (with excellent camping facilities at Loch Morlich, Arisaig, Inverary, Stirling and Blair Atholl). The motorhome (Bolero) was big in size but the inclusions were excellent and it was easy to drive.
We are very pleased that we chose Scottish Tourers and all the reviews that we had read were absolutely true.
This will not be the last time we do a motorhome holiday and we would be delighted to use the services of Scottish Tourers again.
Many thanks for a 2nd fabulous holiday with Scottish Tourers, again a friendly professional welcome and an immaculate Motorhome, as I said to Corrine on handover of the vehicle it felt like coming home and it truly did. Scotland has a way of getting into your soul and hiring the motorhome is the perfect way to see the true beauty it has to offer. We were amazingly fortunate with the weather and saw Scotland in all her glory, stunning beaches, mountains and lochs. We visited Stirling, the castle is amazing, Loch Lomond, the ferry over to Arran, ferry to the Kintyre Peninsula, ferry to Mull and then ferry to the Ardnamurchan Peninsular which is stunning in its remoteness, although we did find a pub in which to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I ate the freshest langoustines and experienced true darkness on the walk back to the Motorhome. We have already booked for 2017 and look forward to the new Motorhomes. I shall be counting the days, and thank you once again...
Scottish Tourer Comment:
It was very nice having you both back this year and we look forward to seeing you in 2017... Also a very big thank you for returning the motorhome in immaculate clean condition once again.

You will not be disappointed!!
Scotland is a wonderful wild country to visit with a camping car when you want to travel comfortably with a minimum of constraints.
All the previous contacts before renting were helpful and precise and no bad surprise up to the end of rental period.
After visiting Edimburg, we have been picked up at our hotel (and return at Glasgow airport the last day)
The camping car was very well equipped up to a TomTom GPS with a complete map of wild spots for stopping for the night and re-filling water. We achieved 3 weeks with no need to stay in a camping site and without to be anxious not to find a suitable place.
During 3 weeks and every day, a new spot along beaches and rivers, over cliffs,... and no more than one or two other neighbours each time when exceptionally we were not alone.
Gordon and Corinne, thanks you again for your kindness and professionalism. Hoping to rent again with Scottish Tourer during end of spring in 3 or 4 years.
We were 'newbies' to motor home travelling but could not have chosen a better company to hire from. The vehicles are new and very well kitted out.
Scotland is a beautiful country, so diverse in it's landscapes, and despite having travelled Scotland a lot in the past, to experience the luxury of driving to every nook and cranny, then just be able to stop, keys out of the ignition and enjoy the comfort of home in the most beautiful rural (sometimes in town), rugged locations is just wonderful. We did Skye,Harris, Lewis, very north west and north of Scotland, Orkney, back to Perth.
Gordon and Corrine's enthusiasm for motor homes is infectious and you freely benefit from their many years experience.
Wild camping sites marked on the sat. nav. are a help along the way. We had 6 wonderful wild camp stops, only using a camp site for the last night to get the van 'ship-shape' for return, wild camping definitely the best!
If you are considering a motor-home holiday, there can surely not be anywhere better to go than Scottish Tourer Motorhome Hire.
We hired a Scottish Tourer from Gordon and Corinne for the last week in August 2016 and we loved every minute of it. We are a family of 4 travelling with our older children (19 & 14) and we had worked out our Hebrides route in advance alongside Gordon and Corinne's really useful information. The motor home was really well equipped and spacious and we had no problem living together on our Island adventure. We had a fantastic trip to Skye, Barra, North and South Uist, Harris and Lewis - wonderful sunsets, beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. We are sure this was the best way to see this outstanding area, offering us both flexibility to change our plans and a base to relax both mornings and evenings. As a non-camping family we found that the campsites we selected exceeded our expectations and it was easy to swap some of our ferries with just a phone call. This was the first time we had hired a motor home and we found that everything was as described and to a high standard and it was a pleasure to be in a vehicle that was almost brand new. Thanks again to Scottish Motorhomes for a delivering a quality product and service.
My wife, our two kids and I hired a Lewis 6 berth for two weeks in July 2016. Our first time in Scotland, and our first time in a motorhome!
We found Scottish Tourer on blogs where people complained about issued with their renters. Someone had written a very positive testimonial on Gordon and Corinne services, so we chose them. We didn't regret our choice at all! They are very kind, very professional. The motorhomes are renewed every year.
The motorhome is fully equiped with all we could need, including a very useful base of wide camp and tap sites saved in the GPS, so you are never lost! Gordon and Corinne helped us choosing our route, giving us advices on the most interesting places to visit.
We loved our journey. Scotland is definetely a gorgeous country, as beautiful as in my dreams.
I hope you will enjoy it too with Scottish Tourer.
Next year we will travel to the States and the Route 66. If only we could find some Gordon and Corinne there! :)
It was for my son and me, our first holiday in motorhomes. A little anxious at the start ( template and use of CC, LHD, etc ...) the warm welcome and explanation of Corinne and Gordon reassured us perfectly.
The CC of the equipment is very complete. Nothing is missing, from the air conditioning (not really useful !!!) to kitchenware via the BBQ, awning, chairs and a picnic table, a flashlight, beds and towels . Note that having need of 220v voltage for a medical device, Gordon kindly helped us to install our small UPS (12v => 220V) before departure.
Finally, the CC was in perfect condition ( almost new with qq thousand km only) and we only had to take (carefully... ) the road to discover the majestic landscapes of Scotland and its castles
My husband and I had an absolute fantastic time when we hired a motorhome from you both we have not stopped ranting about it to everyone. The information given from you was brilliant before we left and the wild camping was right up our street this is our kind of holiday to see our wonderful country this way was second to none!! We will and have recommended you to everyone to give it a go as we will definitely be doing it again, great personnel service from you and the motorhome was first class luxury with everything you could possible want. Thanks again for a fantastic experience the grins are still on our faces when we talk about it all the best
Our first experience of a Motorhome holiday. Gordon & Corinne make everything so simple from initial enquiry to hand over of the Motorhome. The whole process could not be easier. When we arrived we had a warm and friendly welcome, completed some paperwork and set off to collect our Motorhome. We were shown around and had demonstrated how everything worked. The Bolero Super Luxury really it what it says and lacked absolutely nothing, all immaculate and brand new. All the information about the Motorhome and appliances is in the manuals that come with the Motorhome. Gordon & Corinne are also available on their mobiles 24/7 should there be a problem. Am I really to be trusted with it?
Said our goodbyes and were wished well and we set off. Easy to drive and very comfortable, we soon found our first wild camping spot by a beautiful wooded loch with a backdrop of mountains. This was everything we had wished for and more. Prepared dinner had a glass or two enjoying the peace, tranquillity and stunning scenery. Really surprised by how late it stays light in June. Slept well, woke refreshed. I was surprised by how much room was in the shower, I'm 6' 3'' and it was fine for me, had breakfast and headed off. We were given all the information we could possibly need about where to wild camp or camp sites too, the Sat Nav and maps proved so useful in helping guide our holiday. It soon becomes apparent you do not have to make too many plans and are pretty much free to do and go where you wish because of the independence offered by the Motorhome... You soon find yourself waving to other Motorhomes too.
We spent ten days combining wild camping and using camp sites all of which were superb. We toured the West Coast and visited Skye. We saw some of the most stunning scenery, visited some of the most beautiful places and met lots of very nice people. Then time to hand back. It passed so quickly, the Motohome has everything you could possibly want is easy to drive and so comfortable.
Gordon & Corinne are a wealth of knowledge and experience also warm, inviting friendly people.
Thanks to them we had a truly memorable time and are looking forward to repeating it.
If you are considering a Motorhome holiday in Scotland then you need look no further than Scottish Tourer.
We were a little apprehensive when picking up a nearly new 7m motorhome for our first motorhome experience, but we soon gained confidence, relaxed into it and the holiday was a great success. Gordon and Corinne were extremely helpful, from our initial enquiry, through to our return of the motorhome at the end of our two week holiday.
The motorhome was fabulous - we hired the Bessacar 454, which was very comfortable for the two of us.
As first-timers, we decided that we would stay on caravan sites rather than wild camp, so we planned a route based on some very helpful Scottish Tourer recommendations and on some research of our own. We ended up staying at six different locations, each impressive in their own way - Blair Atholl, Grantown-on-Spey, Dunvegan (Isle of Skye), Arisaig, Glencoe and Stirling. The satnav provided by Scottish Tourer was easy to use and was a great help. The scenery on our travels around the highlands and the western isles was stunning and we also enjoyed some great views from some of our caravan site pitches.
The two weeks went very quickly - we did lots of walking, cycling (we hired bikes from Scottish Tourer), visited three castles (Blair, Dunvegan and Stirling), the Wallace Monument at Stirling, the museum at Glencoe, visited Portree (Isle of Skye), sampled the local ales and food... and generally had a wonderful relaxing time.
We would not hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer, especially to first-timers like ourselves.
We hired a motor home from scottishtourer.co.uk for a week at the end of June 2016 as a family of four. We were all excited beyond words and were not disappointed, the motor home was amazing, fully equipped and spacious enough for the four of us to enjoy a week of touring Scotland. Corrine was there to show us around and was excellent and gave us the confidence we needed to commence with our trip. We left and headed for Aviemore. We followed a route that was already set in the easy to use sat nav system and there was also a folder full of interesting places to visit, we were spoiled for choice. We done a few nights of wild camping, which was amazing, and a must do as this is exactly what these motor homes are made for. We stayed by the river in Grantown-on-Spey and it was a beautiful spot to wake up in the morning!! The Kids had a great time and are desperate to go again. We also visited Lossiemouth, Applecross (mountain pass is a must as is seafood at Kishorn), Skye, Arisaig, Mallaig, Fort William, Glencoe and Callander. We certainly got about but it truly felt like no time at all as the motor home was so comfortable and easy to drive (so my husband tells me)! On returning the motor home both Corrine and Gordon were there and the handover was smooth and effortless, although we really didn't want to let it go. We can't recommend Scottish Tourer highly enough, the motor home, information and general customer service was first class. Nothing was too much bother and emails were exchanged for weeks before we traveled, no question was too big or small or daft!! We will definitely be back and wouldn't dream of going to any other company. Thanks again Corrine and Gordon x
Gordon & Corinne, this was our first foray into Motorhome touring. We are not new to touring, having had a caravan when our kids were younger, but it was a revelation the differences. No more emptying grey waste (washing up water), no more carting fresh drinking water in large heavy containers to connect up. We simply drove into camp sites, connected to mains electric and we were up and running! The six berth motorhome you rented us could have just been delivered new from a showroom, was perfect for our needs with ample room and storage for the four of us (two older teenagers) and was very easy and enjoyable to drive. We toured down through England to the Dorset coast and back up with several overnight stops both ways. All in all we would just like to thank you for a a fantastic holiday and we have no doubt we will rent from you again in the future (perhaps in one of your luxury Motorhomes for two!). I think it is also worth saying that your kind and helpful attitude is a credit to you both and contributed greatly to our confidence in this, our first motorhome holiday. Definitely rate you five stars for quality and service.
We had a perfect week, what a fantastic, friendly service you provide. Starting with a really great handover including really helpful tips on what to avoid and common mistakes it was good to know you'd be at the end of the phone should we need it!
We really didn't expect to have a brand new vehicle to drive around in you provided everything we needed for a great stress free holiday. We'll be back !!
Our Scottish Touring holiday in your 'top of the range' Swift Motorhome was everything we could have hoped for and more! The West Coast highland route was spectacular and following your route plan, with all the points of interest and wild camp sites programmed in the sat nav made it a stress free and enjoyable experience from start to finish. - what a great idea! We saw and did so much in our two weeks but now realise just how much more there is to do and see!! We definitely would like to do this again.
Thanks again for thinking of everything for us, so that we didn't have to - superb.
We rented a motorhome from Gordon and Corinne for 8 nights in the beginning of June and we have no words to describe how happy we are for choosing Scottish Tourer. We received very personalised yet professional service. They were very helpful and ready to answer all our questions. The motorhome we rented was a month old and it was spotless. It was very well equipped and there was everything and more that one needed for a trip around the highlands. We choose to tour the West coast and it was breathtaking! It was a whole new experience as this was the first time we toured in a motorhome. We highly recommend Scottish Tourer and we will surely rent from them again. Cheers!
We had a wonderful holiday in your motorhome, it was comfortable, well equipped and everything worked! We managed to find the smallest roads and the motorhome negotiated the corners easily. We enjoyed travelling over the Bealach na Ba, not as scary as had read, any other roads after that were 'easy'. Loved our wildcamp looking over Applecross. We enjoyed our meal at the Applecross Inn. Loved Skye, visited Fairy pools late in the day and no problems parking motorhome in the car park. Parked in large car park in Portree, when we came back to motorhome another Scottish tourer parked next to us, that was funny, as they could have parked anywhere. Too many amazing places to mention. We did a mix of wildcamp and campsites. One wildcamp was by default when we travelled into a small settlement (narrow single lane road), when we got there there was a sign 'No Motorhomes'. So we drove out and found a spot looking over Little Loch Broom, beautiful, us and a few sheep wandering past. Wonderful holiday, Thank you.
Just a line to say how much we enjoyed our first ever motorhome holiday, the vehicle was exactly what was described on the web site and the information available on the Sat Nav made the whole experience a truly relaxing holiday.
This was our first motorhome holiday, so we did not know quite what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the best holidays we have ever had. All five of us (two adults and three girls aged 16, 14 and 8) had a brilliant time. With the help of the satnav and route guidance provided by Gordon and Corinne, all carefully explained before we set off, we were able to wild camp every night for a week in some truly stunning spots.
The motorhome was very comfortable and well-equipped, and Gordon and Corinne were happy to help with any special requests; nothing was too much trouble - one of the many benefits of booking with Scottish Tourer. They are a warm and friendly couple, well organised and clearly passionate about providing an excellent experience for their customers. We would not hesitate to recommend them and are hoping to go again next year. Some of our highlights were: toasting marshmallows on the beach at Achiltibuie (thanks for the skewers Corinne!)... a night at Applecross Bay with some delicious food at the Applecross Inn, followed by a midnight deer stalk... a fun day at the Landmark Forest Adventure Park... amazing sunset from the top of the Cairngorms near Aviemore... peace and tranquility by Loch Morar... to mention just a few. Fantastic! Thank you!
The motorhome enabled us to enjoy some superb wild camping spots and take full advantage of the glorious weather in the second half of May. Gordon’s suggested route to the west coast and his accompanying narrative helped us get the best out of our trip. House of Bruar was great – ‘Harrods food hall of the Highlands’ – and we stocked up with all sorts of goodies (meat, fish, bread, cheeses etc. ). Blair Castle, Fort George, Dunvegan castle and Inverary castle were all great visits as was our afternoon at Inverewe gardens. Glen Nevis was beautiful and the excellently equipped caravan site there (good Motorhome service point) was a handy place after some wild camps. Kishorn seafood bar and Old School House on Skye were our best meals out – thanks for these recommendations.
As I said when we were chatting on our way back to Glasgow airport, anyone trying to get to the Fairy Pools on Skye should do it early – by mid morning on a Tuesday, parking was impossible especially with an 8 metre van. Ditto for the Old Man of Storr though they are doing work on car parking at present. Suggest you warn people to book sites ahead when it’s near a bank holiday – we couldn’t get into any of 5 sites around Arisaig – comments to us were “never seen so many motor homes as this year! . We felt let down by Loch Fyne who seemed to have plenty space but said they were fully booked – something odd going on there so I wouldn’t recommend it.
The Bolero was easy to drive but it’s length restricted us on where we could park, and we had to miss some sights.
Scottish Tourer Comment:
Sorry to hear that due to the Length of Bolero Super Luxury you missed some sights. However we have travelled Scotland and Europe extensively over the years in this size and never had a situation that restricted us from going where we wanted... Also bear in mind things are a compromise in that that if you want an extra roomy super luxury motorhome then it will be longer.
Regarding campsites that are full up... usually its just a case of moving to the next one or just wild camp... remember our motorhomes are fully fitted out so you don’t need to use campsites every night... however we take your point.
Got home safely from our wonderful trip to Scotland. Thank you both very much for being part of our best holiday ever.
We will certainly pass on the information to our friends and family about Scottish Tourer, Thanks again.
I would like to thank you both for making our trip to Scotland so enjoyable.
As a first time motor home driver, I was slightly apprehensive to be driving a brand new motor home, but I was put at my ease and given confidence at the handover briefing. Your pre trip information and suggested routes were invaluable to plan before we left, on the start of our holiday.
The motor home was a joy to drive and was an excellent base for exploring Scotland, it was well equipped with state of the art facilities. As a long time camper, it was a joy to arrive on site and within minutes be set up for eating, drinking or relaxing under the awning.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer a choice of the number of pillows required for the bed.
Thanks again for providing excellent service, and an excellent motor home to tour the beautiful country of Scotland
Scottish Tourer Comment:
Regarding the pillows...thank you for pointing this out and we will take your advice.
A big thank you to Gordon and Corrine for a fantastic introduction to our first motor home experience. We were given useful and clear advice in respect of driving, as well as handy tips to get the most out of our week. The motor home was equipped with everything and more, including great maps and routes which we followed to experience stunning scenery and stop in some amazing places
One recommendation not to be missed is a stop at the cafe at Kishorn for exceptional seafood - make sure you call in on your way to Applecross where you'll also hopefully see the deer on the campsite or at the beach. The freedom to wild camp and be totally at one with nature is not to be missed, and wild camp locations were easily found using the SatNav provided.
The most reassuring aspect of the trip was that Gordon and Corrine were at the end of the telephone 24/7 to give assistance and advice. We had a little difficulty connecting the satellite TV, but Corrine arranged for her engineer to call us to talk us through the process of making it work again - exceptional service!
Thanks again for a fantastic experience that we highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Scotland's most breathtaking sights with the freedom to do it at your own pace.
A big thank you to Corrine and Gordon for all they did for us on our very first motorhome trip in a beautiful brand new Swift Escape Islay Motorhome. We had a fantastic few days touring and wild camping, so much fun,so much to see that we never could never have done with a car.
We cannot recommend this company enough, from the first e-mail to picking up the motorhome was seamless, the information we received was excellent and exactly what was required for us newbies. We spent the first night wild camping near Oban, 'Wow' it was beautiful, the weather was fantastic and the sat nav was perfect, it had lots of wild camp spots pre loaded on it. The Motorhome had everything we required for our short touring trip, it was easy to drive and the bed was very comfortable. We toured and saw many beautiful sights, we woke up to some amazing scenery such as, looking over to the Isle ofArran from the sea shore on a beautiful morning. The whole experience was excellent and one i would recommend anyone to try, even if you have like us never driven a Motorhome before.
Thanks again for a fantastic experience we will do it again for sure.
This was our first motorhome rental and to be honest we didn't really know what to expect. To say it straight away, everything was perfect, a fantastic experience for the whole family. Before calling Gordon and Corinne we spent some time checking through various websites and offers, but Scottish Tourer somehow inspired confidence. We can tell now that there's a good reason for that, Gordon and Corinne really take care of everything, they answered to the numerous questions we had and provided us with a brand new fully equipped motorhome. The kids loved it and so did we. We hired a 6 berth Lewis motohome, including 4 permanent beds, so we didn't have to make up beds in the evenings. Lots of space and all extras included. Getting to Perth was really easy, Gordon picked us up from the railway station and brought us to the Scottish Tourer base, explained everything in detail, in and around the motorhome. Shortly after that we hit the road...
Touring around Scotland was easy, especially due to the satnav including preprogrammed wild campsites, water tap sites etc. Finding a place for overnight parking has never been a problem, even more, the satnav guided us to quite some exceptional spots with fantastic views. To make it short, we highly recommend Scottish Tourer and hope that many other families will enjoy motorhoming Scotland thanks to Gordon and Corinne. Having said that, Gordon also showed us their luxury motorhomes for couples. Wow ! We might be back in some years when the kids will be grown up :-)
I cannot thank Gordon & Corinne enough for a fantastic holiday in their immaculately presented Kontiki Motorhome. We toured Skye, the West and north coast of Scotland (NC500 route).
Truly palatial it was, and oh the bed, could have stayed in it all week as it was soooo comfy.
On arrival, after the paperwork is all covered, Corinne fully explains the interior workings and layout, followed by Gordon on the external, gas, toilet, water etc etc.
The included TomTom satnav with all the preinstalled wild camping, water tap points etc were also fully explained on how to use, and came in very useful. Map, binoculars (very good pair) and manuals for appliances were also included.
A lot of thought, attention to detail and care must have went in to the preparation of the Motorhome so that we can enjoy our holiday.
Any questions we had were duly answered in a very polite, professional and down to earth manner, absolutely nothing was too much bother.
I would unreservedly recommend Scottishtourer.co.uk if you were thinking of hiring a new, extremely well presented, fully equipped Motorhome with fantastic personal service from Gordon & Corinne included. You will not be disappointed.
From the first contact we had with you, to reluctantly handing back the motorhome, it was obvious you run a very professional business and we must applaud you on this. We both work in the service industry and appreciate the need to look after customers and you certainly do that 100% so congratulations on that.
We couldn’t have asked for any more and you made our weeks break a real pleasure and the Kontiki really was a 5 star experience which we enjoyed from the point of collection to, as I said, reluctantly handing back at the end. You really have thought of everything and next time we will know to just turn up with our clothes and a smile as that is all you need to enjoy the experience. I certainly will have no hesitation in recommending you to any of our friends so they can enjoy the experience as well.
Once again our sincere thanks for making our week so great.
If there were one word to describe a motorhome rental from Scottish Tourers, and there are many.
Fantastic would be that word.
There does not seem to be anything Gordon and Corinne would not do to accommodate us and make our trip to Scotland the most enjoyable and memorable vacation my wife and I have ever had.
We would not hesitate to recommend the rental of a motorhome for your travel vacation in Scotland.
You have a fully contained living space, come and go as you please.
The only restriction is your imagination as to where you go and what you do.
Compare all you other options and you will find for convenience, cost and freedom of movement you can’t beat a Scottish Tourer motorhome.
Right from the word go Gordon and Corinne from Scottish Tourer.co.uk were on hand to make this a holiday to remember, sorting out which motorhome was available, pain free form filling and payment service and help with planning our itinerary. The collection info was straight forward, the handover run through thorough and any questions we had were expertly answered, so we headed off for our big adventure. We opted for the first night in a site with four of our seven nights 'wild camping', only heading for the services of a camp site when we wanted to pick up water and get rid of any waste. The marked map book and pre-programmed satnav were invaluable in pointing out the various stops for LPG, water taps, petrol stations and wild camps amongst other things. We travelled up to Inverness via Aviemore and towards Ullapool, stopping off at Cove, around the coast and down to Applecross, before heading over to Skye, taking in monuments, castles and gardens along with the beautiful lochs, mountains and some very interesting roads. We even managed to perfect the motorhome wave. The scenery was simply stunning and the British weather extremely kind to us. The only problem - it wasn't long enough, so we've already planned what we want to see next year!
We decided it was time we saw more of Scotland and opted for travelling by motorhome which would be a new experience for us. Having done some research and tried contacting a couple of company's we found Scottish Tourers details online. The information on their website and the testimonials from previous customers looked good and on contacting them the difference was clear - it was like you already knew them and they genuinely wanted you to have a great experience. We went ahead and booked with them. The day of collection was a simple and very informative process where the internal and external features of our temporary home were clearly explained with the added security that both Gordon & Corinne said they were available to be contacted at anytime if there were any problems or things not working as expected - as they said better to give us a quick call or text when it could be simple fix rather than go through the whole time with something not working or not able to be used. Fortunately, we had no need to contact them as everything went faultlessly. The provided SatNav had details of 'Wild Camping' locations, water stops, garages, etc. already programmed in and covering a wide area so no matter where you headed the information was there. We didn't need a fixed site during the entire week and cannot say how much we enjoyed our first experience in a motorhome. The vehicle provided was in excellent condition, only around 6 months old and surprisingly more economical than our own car!! So a big thanks to Gordon and Corinne for the effort they put in and the excellent service provided - hopefully we will be repeat customers!
Moira & I had the holiday of a lifetime & would recommend your company to anyone who is looking for a top range company.
We had a lovely time and particularly enjoyed the high standard of everything within the motorhome and your invaluable support. It seems a distant memory now but thank you again for everything and for allowing us to rent the motorhome for a short period.
Early last year we made the decision to purchase a motorhome. Having spent months looking at an endless array of motorhomes and campervans up and down the country, and suffering multiple selling agents pressured attempts to sell us something which was overpriced and neither suitable nor what we wanted, six months later we were still no further forward.
In July 14 my brother and his wife ( ref Jamie and Caroline, Darlington Scottish Motorhomes site reviews) hired the Bessacarr 454 from Gordon and Corinne. When listening to them enthuse about how amazing it was, we decided to take a look on the Scottish Tourers website. We loved what we saw and were also quite excited when we noticed that they actually sell their almost new motorhomes at the end of each season. After contacting Gordon we were really impressed by his knowledge of motorhomes and refreshed by his honest and open help that he gave willingly with regards to which van would best suit our need. Unfortunately last year we were too late to secure one of their homes, however this year we were lucky enough to be on their list and picked up our gorgeous Bessacarr several weeks ago.
We have nothing but great respect and admiration for Gordon and Corrine. They are fountains of knowledge on anything motorhome related. Last year, once we had decided which van it was that we wanted, we could have gone to any number of motorhome showrooms to buy the Bessacarr but we didn't as we were happy to wait. This was because we found the service that we had from Gordon to be excellent, really personal, extremely helpful and refreshingly honest with no pressure. He kept in contact with us throughout the whole of this year, (including emailing frequently from his holiday in Portugal when we came up with yet another set of questions), letting us know how the van was doing along with regular photos. When we went to collect it in October they collected us from the station, took us into Perth and then back out to collect the van again, where both Gordon and Corinne took even more time to go through a very comprehensive list of the do's and don'ts, none of which we could have done without.
Our motorhome is fantastic. We are absolutely delighted with it and it was more than well worth the wait. Our many many thanks go to Gordon and Corrine for their very personal and excellent service, their constant help and patience, and for their never ending advice whenever it has been asked for. We would not hesitate to recommend purchasing your motorhome from Scottish Tourers.
We would highly recommend Gordon & Corrine of Scottish Tourer, Perth, if considering purchasing a motorhome.
My wife & I provisionally booked a Swift Escape 664 over a year ago, prior to retirement, and took delivery on 21st October 2015 with no hassle or fuss We had also hired the same model for a week in April this year and had an idea of what to expect.
However on receipt of what was supposedly a second hand vehicle we were delighted with the mileage (previous estimate advised), as well as the high standard and quality of the interior and exterior, which looked very much like new. The difference in price compared to new, meant real value for money and was much more affordable. Having looked at second hand motorhomes at higher prices and poorer condition in various areas, ours seemed like new and came without the usual associated small teething problems. We also found that the average diesel mileage had increased from April by approximately 3 to 4 miles per gallon after being fully run in.
Gordon and Corrine are really enthusiastic about motorhomes and it shows in the extra advice given regarding spares, overnight wild camp parking, waste disposal, fresh water points and a lot of further helpful information, they are also at the end of the phone or get back quick with answers to any e-mail enquiries. This has been used a lot by my wife and I, prior to and since purchase, with no question being considered stupid and their advise has been invaluable.
We have only had the motorhome for a short time and it has hardly been parked in the driveway due to use by my wife and I as well as my son, his wife, and two children(boy 12 & girl 8) My son previously owned a motorhome and spent a year travelling in Europe and he thinks we got a great deal.
We are going to Spain, Portugal and Morocco for a five month trip, with our new motorhome, and armed with Gordon and Corrine's personal telephone number we now feel fully confidant.
I feel that 10 out of 10 does not give justice to the excellent, professional and personal service given and would highly recommend Scottish Tourer, Gordon & Corrine for motorhome buying or rental.
In April of 2015 Eileen and I hired a motorhome form Gordon and Corrine at Scottish Tourers which is based near Perth in Scotland.
As ‘first timers’ we were not quite sure what to expect and on meeting Gordon and Corrine we were made to feel at home by their calm and supportive introduction to the brand new motorhome that we were going to hire for the next week.
They gave us instructions on how to make everything work and then supplied us with a Satnav and Map full of suggested camping spots and places of interest.
Because of this support our holiday was absolutely trouble free and so enjoyable. We saw parts of Scotland which were absolutely stunning and although the weather was not quite what we would have preferred, the quality of our motorhome ensured that we were warm and comfortable.
Our experience was so positive that we decided to purchase a motorhome from Gordon and Corrine at the end of the season, as they sell off the new fleet each year in October.
Again their preparation and support in this transaction has been first class and we are so proud and pleased with our ‘new’ motorhome.
Thank you once again Gordon and Corrine.
Gordon and Corrine sell off their fleet at the end of the season and we bought one. From the moment we made contact with them, they could not have been more helpful. Gordon showed us round the motorhome in between rentals to give us an idea of what it was like. He even kindly drove one all the way across Perth to test if it would actually fit in our drive.
When we finally picked it up halfway through mid-term, they had it all spick and span for us heading off. They are more than happy for us to contact them if we have any queries and the motorhome we have is totally spotless, as in like new. They really take personal pride in their fleet and service and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone considering renting or buying from them. We're just back from our first adventure and are hooked.
Our first Scottish motor home adventure with Gordon and Corinne was two years ago. Our next adventure was long overdue... This September we were back and had a fantastic week exploring the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye. The weather was beautiful! Gordon and Corinne are a lovely couple and nothing is ever to much trouble. They run a very professional business but with that all important personal touch. They offer a world of information to make your camping experience the very best that it can be. Our motor home was immaculate with all the necessary to make it a real home from home experience. The scenery is stunning and we especially loved the wild camping. You are totally spoilt for choice but which ever direction you take there will always be spectacular views when you get there.
If you are thinking of renting a motor home in Scotland then it has to be Scottish Tourer... you will not be disappointed.
We had an amazing holiday with Scottish Tourer, one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. From start, being picked up at the airport, to finish back at the airport we had absolutely everything we could ever need. Gordon & Corinne make it so easy with their vast knowledge & experience, they gave us a run through of how to use everything on the motorhome and then we were off with a sat nav, map, suggested routes and assurances that they were only a text or a phone call away if needed. The sat nav, pre loaded with places to camp whether wild or site, tap locations and lots besides, was invaluable and used quite often. Other days we just set off with no particular plan or destination in mind, happy to follow a road wherever it took us. We would have no hesitation whatsoever to do it all over again and will definitely return to Scottish Tourer.
We had a glorious and luxurious fortnight in our superbly appointed motor home courtesy of Scottish Tourers. In 14 nights we stayed only two in campsites, the van was so well equipped we only needed to fill ip the water and empty the waste from time to time. This is the way to see Scotland (if you don't have a motorbike!!! But that's another story) I have nothing but praise for Gordon Corrine and their operation, thanks, we will be back.
We decided to take a motor home holiday for the second year, and it was everything and more. The van was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a fantastic week. I could not recommend it highly enough. We wild camped next to lochs, and valleys , to wake up to the most beautiful scenery ever. We had the best seafood plata at the Ee usk in Oban. We happened upon a Waterfall and salmon ladder, amazing! I could go on. But the best recommendation I can give is I can't wait till we do it all again. Scotland here we come.
As a motor home and wild camping "virgin" my senses were at fever pitch as we turned off the A9 at Perth. The Bessacar Luxury model is like Dr Who's Tardis and you cannot fail to be amazed by the things it can do. It is beautifully prepared, spotlessly clean and as Gordon's comprehensive brief gives you full confidence as you climb into the Captain's seat and leave the yard. Note to all, Gordon is a mine of information so listen to him it only enhances your holiday experience. The road maps he provides with personal notes on places to stop and eat plus the sat nav programmed with fuel, water points and a variety of other points of interest means if you fail to have a fantastic holiday it's your fault! Ideally positioned right on the A9, your holiday starts immediately as the road quickly allows you to see the classic Scottish views. Loch Laggan was our first wild camping stop, where we shared the location with a man in a tent. Moving north past Inverness and swinging left to Loch Maree, you could not get better views or fresher air! Loch Carron is outstanding, full Scottish breakfast at the Waterside Cafe and then onto Skye. Once again the views and landscapes are out of this world, sheep on the road can be a bit stubborn but you are on holiday so who cares! My main thought as we headed back to Perth, was I wonder if Gordon would mind if we did not hand the motor home in and kept it for another two weeks. Sadly all good things come to an end and the keys exchange hands and you return to normality. The Bessacar gives you everything you need for a very comfortable holiday and if you add in the natural ingredients of Scotland you cannot fail come away refreshed with a smile on your face. A massive thanks to Gordon and Corinne, you provide a top quality and professional service. Now I am an "experienced" motor homer, I will be back in the future to continue the adventure. Note to Gordon, please fit the cheap wing mirrors next time I book.
A big thank you to Corrine and Gordon, we had a fantastic few days in the Motorhome.
Can't recommend this company enough, our motorhome was imaculately clean and had everything in it that we needed for our break. We had decided to wild camp and the sat nav came in very handy as it already had places in it where we could camp. The first night we actually camped in our friends street to save us going home from her birthday party, much to the amusement of the neighbours and we set off the next day heading for Braemar and eventually spent the night in Granton on Spey, we camped next to the river which was gorgeous, the weather was not gorgeous but in the motorhome there is everything you need, no need to even look for a restaurant as the cooking facilities in the van are fantastic .
We went further north the next few days and had an amazing time
thanks again to Corrine and Gordon
We were very pleased with our motorhome hire from Scottish Tourer. Gordon met us at the Edinburgh airport after a long international flight and shuttled us to their office in Perth where we met his wife Corinne. Both are very friendly, professional, and extremely helpful with suggestions and information emailed to us months prior when we'd made the initial deposit, which helped immensely in planning our trip. We were supplied with a road atlas and satnav with tons of waypoints for attractions, camping sites, water, grocery stores, etc. The atlas had their notes about places to be sure to stop and where to avoid. The motorhome itself was nearly new and spotless. We were given a good walk around and explanation of the features of the motorhome, where the best place was to get our first supply of groceries nearby and a first place to stop for the night. we spent nearly three weeks travelling around the Isle of Skye and Glen Coe.
The return of the motorhome was just as easy as picking it up. Renting from Gordon and Corinne was great. I wish all rental experiences were like this. The hire rate was not the least expensive, but well worth the extra for the quality of vehicle and service. When you can travel overseas (or just down the road) and not have the stress or burden of stuff that doesn't work or less than stellar service when you need it the trip goes so much smoother. This was our first trip to Scotland and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. When we return to Scotland we'll be sure to rent from Scottish Tourer.
Simply awesome holiday, great service from Gordon and Corrine. We are hooked and will definitely be back next year (if we haven't bought one by then). Thanks again
Just arrived home after a fantastic touring holiday in Scotland .it was our first time using a motorhome and I had my reservations, but thanks to Corinne & Gordon and their beautiful motorhomes I'm now hooked on touring holidays. They do everything possible to ensure a happy and safe holiday. If you're considering a motorhome holiday in Scotland look no further, you'll not be disappointed!!
This was our first Motorhome experience and I must say that we really enjoyed it. I got extensive information from Gordon prior to my decision to work with them. In comparison with other companies that I have quickly reviewed, Gordon and Corinne offer brand new vehicles (mine had barely 6000 miles) and fully equipped. No supplements in small characters for the TV, heating, etc. Corinne was at the airport to pick us up at the agreed time and we switftly move to their place to collect the vehicle. They gave us very extensive information and tips about the inside and the outside. The also provided us with leaflets and roadmaps full of very valuable information about places to visit, to see, where to eat, to sleep, etc. The only technical problem with the control panel was solved with two SMS's and in five minutes. We did a great two-week tour of the West Coast and I am sure that their professionnalism was a decisive factor of the success, even if the weather was beyond their control. We want to return to Scotland and we will surely rely on them again.
We did it again. The second year in a row we did explore Scotland with a motorhome from Scottish Tourer Motorhome Hire this time went to the high north. In spite of the tricky weather everything went well again and we really enjoyed the 2 weeks. Many thanks to Corinne and Gordon to make this happen.
My son and I rented a Swift Bessacarr 454 Scottish Tourer in July this year to explore the west side of Scotland, we had been in Scotland on motorcycle in 2005 and 2007 without being able to explore the west side because it rained the whole time we tried so we went to the east where the weather was better.
We were picked up at the airport in Edinburgh by Gordon, and when all the paperwork was ready we were given a thorough review of the motor home before we went to Durness where we would submit some photos that we took in 2005 when we were there and had trouble with one bike.
The motorhome was new and smelled new as new cars can, all we needed was included and we wild camp most of the time our 14 days. We went on the narrowest single roads without a problem and none of us had driven a motor home earlier.
The GPS we could borrow the Scottish tours but plenty of places to wild camp on or where to fill water, etc. was very helpful.
We had a great experience thanks to Gordon and Corinne.
Just returned from our first experience of camping/touring.. We had a great time in spite of a lot of rain but managed to see and do everything we set out to do. Scottish Tourer Motorhome was like being in a luxury mobile hotel suite. Great service and can happily say we had no issues whatsoever.
Well done Gordon n Corrine
Thanks Scottish Tourer for a beautiful, new, modern, luxurious and well equipped motorhome to explore Scotland in. We were also very appreciative of all the additional information you provided us with about points of interest, routes and places to camp - very helpful. Thanks for taking time to demonstrate how to operate the van and also being on hand to provide support with any questions we had during our trip. A professional, friendly and helpful service. We highly recommend you.
Thanks again for your perfect tidy, cleaned and amazing motorhome we have hired in july 2015. We had a fantastic week and travelled to Inverness, Cromarty, Dornoch, Dunrobin Castle, Lybster, John o`Groats, Dunnet Head, Thurso, Strathy point and back to Perth!
The information you gave us was great and your navigation system with all the help to stay overnight with the little flag was very helpful and is a fantastic idea!! it made our first time trip with a motorhome much easier.
Big thanks again.
We recently spent two weeks in a Scottish Tourers Motorhome.(13th -27th June) From our initial inquiry Gordon and Corrine were exceptionally helpful in suggesting an itinery for our trip to the Hebrides and sent us lots of first class information. The islands are truly beautiful and no matter where we were we always had a room with a view! The sat-nav with wild camping sites was brilliant and as Corrine told us about the ferry ports having service points it meant that we could avail of these sites for most of our trip.
The Motorhome itself was top of the range. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and cosy-most welcome in what was a typical Scottish Summer! We were the envy of other travellers at times!
During our trip we sought clarification on a couple of points and Gordon and Corrine responded to our calls immediately and patiently explained answers to our questions.
We would strongly recommend Scottish Tourers to anyone contemplating a motorhome holiday and we will certainly be getting in touch with Gordon and Corrine to arrange another trip in a fabulous motorhome.
Despite mixed fortunes with the weather, our recent experience in hiring a motorhome through Scottish Tourer Motorhome Hire was faultless. The vehicle was only a few months old and had everything we needed for our first venture into wild camping. Gordon and Corinne were also great in taking time out to help us tailor our route to visit areas that would be of particular appeal. And they also gave us the confidence to try wild camping on our very first and many subsequent nights.
Their passion for motorhoming is infectious and results in beautifully presented vehicles along with expert and friendly support which is available throughout your holiday.
We for a longtime wished to visit the Western Isles. It seemed to us that the best way would be by Motorhome.Enter Gordon and Corinne.Research on the internet led us to them as they were well positioned, seemed to have first class vehicles and accepted over 70's.
We were not disappointed when we picked up our vehicle which was the height of luxury and came complete with whisky, chocolates, bathrobes, slippers and a TomTom showing wild camping positions.
Our plan was to catch the ferry from Oban to Barra but there were gale warnings out so we switched our booking to go from Ullapool to Stornaway. This worked well having visited Inverewe Gardens on the way.
We can recommend the Ferryboat inn in Ullapool.
The boat was modern and we learnt later that the Oban ferry did sail and took 7 hrs rather than 5.
Because of the weather we headed south and stayed on South Uist for 3 nights and Barra for 2.
On each we can strongly recommend Kilbride campsite on S Uist looking out over the Sound Of Barra, small with good facilities. On Barra Norve camping right by the Atlantic. Both should be booked.
What a marvellous trip,no problem on narrow roads as quiet, friendly people thank you Gordon and Corrine for our palace on wheels.
We have just had 2 weeks in the luxury Bolero Motorhome touring around Scotland. The initial idea was to see the west coast but the weather in the first week was not great so we drifted east. We really enjoyed seeing different areas with varying scenery, lots of wildlife all from the comfort of our Motorhome.
The van had everything we wanted and the shower was better than we have had in a lot of hotels!
We wild camped for the majority of the time, which was really easy with lots of places suggested on the very handy pre marked sat nav that was provided. this also had places marked to fill up with water, so as we drove along we didn't have to think too much about things like that, we just filled up as we passed, most places we wouldn't have known that the taps were there until we stopped!
The service we received from Gordon and Corrine was second to none from booking to collecting and returning the Motorhome. We had used one from another hire company last year in England so knew the basics, but the information we had when collecting was very comprehensive. We didn't need to call Gordon and Corrine with any problems during our holiday, but knew that they were only a call away should we have needed to.
I would very much recommend anyone thinking of hiring a Motorhome to do so from Scottish Tourers. One big advantage is that you are hiring from people who actually are Motorhome enthusiasts themselves, instead of a faceless company only interested in taking your cash.
We had a wonderful holiday touring the Outer Hebrides and renting the campervan from Scottish Tourer contributed greatly. They have a convenient central location, great new vans, and Gordon and Corinne were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. Wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend them and we’re already planning our next campervan adventure!”
Thanks for your excellent service.I rate your service 100% and your brand new motorhome gave us a really comfortable and enjoyable week touring Scotland. You and Corinne could not have ben more helpful and obliging. I would definitely recommend you to anyone wanting a guaranteed luxury motorhome holiday.
Due to trying to book within about seven weeks of our intended holiday we found that you only had one motorhome still available and that was a 6 berth. Rather large for just two of us we thought, but we decided to go ahead when you told us that some couples preferred to have a more spacious model. From the beginning, I was impressed by your website. Everything was well presented and by using all the supplementary material we really did feel that we were well prepared even though we had never before tried a motorhome holiday.
The exchange of our car for the motorhome was very smooth with Corinne giving us a comprehensive introduction to the vehicle and although the volume of new information was a challenge we were reassured that we would cope knowing that all the instruction books were neatly filed and stored! Our week in the Highlands proved to be most enjoyable despite generally poor weather. Even when it was really wet, we felt snug and comfortable in our extremely well equipped home, It looked big from outside but was easy to drive and performed economically (nearly 30mpg) and I never felt that it lacked power. I can thoroughly recommend Scottish Tourers to future prospective hirers. The motorhome could not have been better, the service from Corinne and Gordon was excellent and the weather in no way spoiled our tour.
We have just come back from 2 weeks touring Scotland, the West, North and then East coast. What a great time we had. The scenery was stunning and we were fortunate to see quite a bit of wildlife. Deer coming down the beach in evening where we were free camping, puffins, golden eagles, osprey, dolphins, a minke whale, grouse and numerous other birds and sea birds. A motorhome is the ideal way to see the wildlife as you can just stop and watch and make a cup of tea!! The weather was dry and cold some days but the motorhome was warm. We free camped and used campsites and going out of season in June, no where was too busy. Gordon sent us routes of things to see and places to stay beforehand, this was extremely helpful in helping to plan the day ahead. Also knowing that we could contact Gordon or Corinne should be unsure of anything was extreme reassuring. The motorhome was easy to drive after the first day despite being 6m long, along the many single track roads, which all had ample passing places.
Just want to say a huge thank you for an absolutely wonderful holiday in Maeve the motorhome ( I had to name her as she was home for so long) we had an amazing time despite the inclement weather at times but was always warm n toasty!! The motorhome allowed us to see so much, our favourite was definitely the west coast and loved Sunnyside croft near Arisaig. We really hope to come back to you and see the east coast and more of the islands.
Thank you again for a holiday we will never forget.
I have always wanted to hire a motorhome to see more of Scotland after visiting several different areas over the past few years so when I came across Scottish Tourers and read the excellent reviews I decided to go all out and book the best - the luxury Bolero or posh camper van as my wife calls it!! The Bolero certainly met all my expectations and I wouldn't consider going to any other company to hire a motor home. It was immaculate inside with everything you could wish for to make our trip so enjoyable.
Gordon & Corrine were so helpful and from the moment I booked nothing was too much trouble for them, the fact they were only a phone call away if you had any problems was very reassuring. I had already discussed with Gordon the route I was thinking of doing and on arrival the sat nav & road map were set up with good suggestions for wild camping and camp sites along the way.
Over the week we travelled over 750 miles and it was a pleasant surprise to find I averaged 30 miles per gallon and despite the vehicle being 8 metres long had no problem negotiating any of the roads - we travelled up as far as Durness at the top of Sutherland. We saw new places with spectacular scenery which we hadn't been to before as well as revisiting old favourites like Plockton. The only downside - the week went too quickly, roll on next year
IWe have just used Scottish Tourer MH hire in May 2015 to go around the West Coast - they were excellent to deal with from the first contact to handing over the keys and explaining how it all worked (never used one before) the M Home was only 2 weeks old clean and very reliable which were the important factors, they had even planned a route for us which was breath-taking. They may be at the top end of the price range but I would suggest you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend them and will hopefully be going again next year!
Eileen and I would like to thank you sincerely for both the high level of service and the friendly, warm and personal welcome that you extended to us during the term of our motorhome hire in April.
The Bessacar 454 motorhome that we hired from you was immaculately presented and extremely well supplied with all the kitchen equipment and miscellaneous items needed for this type of holiday.
We were also impressed with the effort that you and Corrine had gone to in preparing and supplying a map which highlighted all the relevant camping and sightseeing information and also supplying us with a satnav which had more relevant information for 'wild camping' included.
This was our first motorhome holiday and as a result of the advice and support that you gave us we had a wonderful and problem free holiday.
Thank you so much, we can’t wait till our next motorhome holiday using one of your vehicles.
We picked up our motorhome for 1 Weeks Scottish touring holiday commencing 25th April 2015 from Gordon & Corrine who provided everything we required for our weeks stay, including the barbeque which we made good use off.
It was our first time in a motorhome and Gordon & Corrine provided all the information we needed from use of Sat Nav, television, power/water supplies etc. to guidance on driving the vehicle. The vehicle and contents were immaculate, with only 700 miles on the clock.
The weather was rain, sleet snow, icy winds and an odd spot of sunshine and despite all that we felt very cosy and content within the motorhome. We spent the first six nights of our holiday, wild camping beside the beaches and lochs of Scotland in some wonderful spots at Aviemore, Loch Ewe near Cove, Applecross, Kyle of Lochalsh, under Ben Nevis Fort William, and Oyster Bar Restaurant car park at Loch Fyne (Information provided by Gordon & Corrine and found on the provided Sat Nav Tom Tom) Driving the vehicle was a dream despite the weather conditions, mountain passes & some single track roads with passing places. The panoramic views, from the windscreen and being seated high, were something to behold. Even in the worst conditions with snow and slush on the narrow roads and snow blizzards in front of us, my wife felt safe and although at times a driving challenge the vehicle handled perfectly. Air conditioning in the cab is provided but we did not need it on this occasion.
The vehicle space and facilities were more than adequate and the heating/hot showers greatly appreciated on this occasion. We spent our last night at Stirling in a campsite recommended by Gordon & Corrine, which we greatly enjoyed. It also gave us the chance to get ourselves cleaned up and the van/contents back to near the provided excellent standards.
I would highly recommend Scottish Tourers for their excellent service, knowledge, being very helpful and friendly. They were only a phone call away and even some of our stupid questions were handled kindly with clear provided guidance.
This first motorhome (Swift Escape 664) holiday will not be our last as we have reserved a vehicle for purchase in October this year Gordon and Corrine made us feel like friends rather than customers and could not have provided a better service.
This time last year, we were sending our deposit to Scottish Tourer for our trip in May and making all our plans. Oh, how we wish we were doing it again this year! Gordon and Corrinne were amazing and patient with us as we were planning our route. They responded quickly to our emails and gave us some very helpful advice. Since we were flying over from the US, we didn’t have the room for much more than our clothes and they provided everything we needed.
We had arrived the day before and spent the night in a local hotel so we would have a restful start to our vacation. Corinne called and picked us up early on our day of departure. Everything was organized, paperwork complete and off we went to pick up our home for a week.
The motorhomes are brand new, beautiful, and clean, and had everything we needed. Others were also picking up their motorhomes so Gordon gave us all the general do’s and don’ts about driving on the narrow roads in the highlands. Then individually, we each took turns getting settled as we waited our turn. Corinne gave us the inside scoop, making sure we were comfortable with how things worked and that we understood that they were only a phone call away if there were any issues. Feeling like a parent taking a newborn home from the hospital, we left the yard and headed out on our own.
Since we are from the States, we are used to driving on the right side of the road in an automatic transmission vehicle, so we did panic (slightly)when we realized, besides driving on the left side of the road, (which we expected) our motorhome also had a standard transmission. Once we got over that, we were fine. As the navigator, I was on high alert to make sure my husband stayed on the correct side of the road and to instruct him on where to go on a roundabout. It took a few miles for us to relax totally, but once we did, the rest of the trip was a breeze! Scotland is magical! The wild camping gave us the freedom to spend the night in some beautiful spots that we never would have experienced by driving in a car, going from hotel to hotel.
We spent most of the evenings in breathtaking locations: near Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe; on Applecross beach, after a nerve wracking trip over the mountain, with a view of the Isle of Skye; in a campground right on the coast, waking to the bleating of lambs; parked on an outlook with a view of Eilean Donan Castle at sunset; on a pullover, rocking as the wind blew through the valley with an amazing view, near Ullapool.
We will be back to Scotland at some point, so we will be back to see Corinne and Gordon at Scottish Tourer to book another motorhome! They have a great sense of humor, are genuinely friendly and know how to run a business! PS: they are only a phone call away, we found out.
In September 2014 we hired the Swift Escape 664 from Scottish Tourers and we had a really marvellous time. From the moment we emailed our booking to arriving to pick up our motorhome it was all very well organised and relaxed. Gordon and Corrine are lovely people and their guide and explanation of how everything worked in the motorhome was very comprehensive and easy to understand. They advice they gave us not just for our trip but about buying our own motorhome was very welcome and enabled us to make the very most of our week, enjoying breathtaking views, beautiful camp sites and wild camping. We would thoroughly recommend Scottish Tourers and would have no hesitation to hire with them again, if we don't have our own motorhome soon!
Thanks again for the usual great service (3 hires in 3 years speaks for itself).
Our trip to Harris & Lewis got off to a bad start when the ferry sailed from Ullapool to Stornoway 3 hours early to avoid the high winds! so we lost a day, but sitting in the car park at Ullapool rocking in the motorhome in 70 mph winds was preferable to being out in the Minch! We still had a great time and had good walks on the great beaches. The jouney home via sunny Skye was beautiful.
See attached photos to see that our weather wasn`t all bad! If we are going to return year after year I think we will need to think about buying one of your motorhomes!
Having just returned from our "Ryder Cup Road Trip" we would all like to thank Gordon and Corrine at Scottishtourer for looking after us from start to Finnish. After several very helpful conversations with Gordon wee decided to book one of their luxury 6 berth motorhomes to use as our base in Perth while watching The Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. After arriving in glorious Scottish sunshine Gordon drove the motorhome to our camp site and set us up for the week. Corrine explained how everything worked and recommended some great restaurants in Perth. We had 3 fantastic days at Gleneagles watching the european team show the americans how to play team golf and the motorhome was every thing we could have asked for. It was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. At the end of our holiday Gordon and Corrine came to our camp site to pick up the motorhome. We cannot thank them enough for the way they looked after us, and we have said that we would like to return in the future to use the motorhome as it should be used, touring Scotland's beautiful scenery.
Four very happy golfers!
We are now settled back at home in Australia after our marathon trip to Europe. Yes the cruise was amazing, a lovely way to end our visit. But I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all you did to ensure we had a fantastic holiday in your 2 berth 454 motorhome. It was certainly a highlight of our whole trip. We are hooked on motorhome holidays now, so much so our next trip is going to be travelling by motorhome from Adelaide, across the Nullabour Desert to Perth, in Western Australia. Of course our only problem is, how do we match the luxury and expertise of your company. You made everything effortless, particularly for us novices.
What an amazing holiday, touring the highlands of Scotland in an immaculate, brand new 2 berth motorhome, Bessacar 454, through your company, Scottish Tourer! We were novice motorhome travellers and the time you took to explain all the ins and outs really helped make our travelling easier. The 2m motorhome was easy to drive, even down the narrow roads to Plockton! The interior was perfect for the two of us- amazing shower- and we made good use of the cooking facilities as well as the outdoor table and chairs. As many others have said the business side of it was very professional yet personal. We stayed in a mixture of wild sites ( at Glenmore) and camping sites (at Glen Nevis) all of them were special. Our only problem was we should have booked a longer trip, 6 days doesn't do it justice!
Thank you again, Gordon and Corinne, for helping create very special memories.
As you already know, we highly appreciated your professional, personal and kind support and the perfect organisation from the beginning to the end of our holiday. As it was our first holiday in Scotland with a motorhome, we had arrived slightly nervous about driving on the left, single-track roads or wild camping, but you managed to reassure us very fast with your helpful advice and profound knowledge. You provided everything we needed to start out on our journey, even the beds were already made! One of the most best things was most beautiful wild camping spots we could ever imagine. Together with the numerous hints you gave us on amazing places we might want to visit, this made our trip truly memorable. We will never forget the breathtaking moment when the deer visited us in front of the motorhome on Applecross beach! The children also enjoyed being so close to nature and playing at the most beautiful beaches just in front of the motorhome - they were really sad when we had to get home...
Throughout our holiday, we felt we could rely on you and knew you were available for advice any time - so we really had three absolutely carefree weeks! Thanks a lot for making this possible. We recommend everyone to choose Scottish Tourer and hope we can make it back to you soon!
We are a family with 2 kids from Switzerland and spent 16 days in the Highlands and the Outer Hebrides in July 2014. We did a perfect match and choose Scottish Tourer for the motorhome rental. The motorhome was brand new, completely equipped ,everything in perfect condition and spotless clean.
We never had any problem neither with the car nor with the equipment. But the most important thing for us was that we always felt the fine service from Gordon and Corinne, from the first email contact until the transfer back to Edinburgh. So, thumbs up for Corinne and Gordon, and their 5 star service.
We spent a marvellous week in Scotland with Gordon and Corinne's motorhomes. From the first mail contacts until our arrival in Scotland, everything was clear and helpful. The transfer from Edinburgh to Perth, just in time, have allowed us to make Gordon's acquaintance and get useful information about Scotland. Every information for our security as right side drivers was given. We had a splendid tour, across the cairngorm mountains and through the Highlands to the west coast and Skye. Thanks for the maps including wild camping places, provided long ago by Gordon, we had map out our route and the places were easy to find with the GPS. The Motorhomes were perfect, even to drive in mountains and on the narrow roads. We warmly recommend Scottishtourer and back in Scotland we won't look for another motorhome provider!
This is just a quick note to say thank you for helping us to have a fantastic holiday around the beautiful west coast of Scotland. The motorhome was superb, and the handover comprehensive and full of the necessary things we needed to know (having never hired a motorhome before) as well as hints and tips from your years of experience, but it was not fussy or over the top, I would say essential. The sat nav with the 'wild camping' was brilliant and this was how we camped throughout most of our holiday. I think throughout our week, the biggest thing we learned was to travel in the morning, then set up and enjoy the afternoon and evening at wherever you end up! And thats the key... wherever you end up. Just getting away and doing what you want. Thats a holiday! We are now looking into hiring again, and traveling around the whole coastline of Scotland, as well as a couple of the Isles. But I need more time off work first!!
On collection, the motorhome was as new, it is a fantastic vehicle with everything that you could possibly need and quite a lot that was just nice to have. We were very surprised that considering the size of the motorhome, it was very compact to move around, had lots of power and was cheaper than a lot of cars on fuel ( we were getting over 34 MPG ). We had loads of help from both of you regarding lots of silly questions about things that we did not understand, but nothing was too much trouble for you. The next time we have a motorhome holiday we will come straight back to Scottish Tourer, when you find a company as good as yours we see no need to look any further and we have recommended you to several people already. Reputable companies can be very difficult to find these days, but we feel that we struck gold with you. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for making our holiday in Scotland so enjoyable. The motorhome was perfect, well equipped and immaculate, I really didn't want bring it back !
We were very impressed by the friendly and professional service that you gave us.The thorough explanation of the features of the motorhome and your route recommendations were invaluable.
We had a fantastic week, surrounded by beautiful scenery, even the weather was kind.
It was our first trip to Scotland, it won't be our last and when we return I will be booking our trip with you. Thank you once again.
Scottish Tourer are without doubt the creme de la creme of the Scottish motor home rental market, and the owners Gordon & Corinne are really helpful & friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a touring holiday in Scotland. The service we received was fantastic.
We spent two weeks in a motor home hired from Scottish Tourer and would highly recommend them. The homes are brand new, well-equipped and the engine has enough power to keep moving on the high road and the low road. What really makes the difference is the personal service from Gordon and Corinne, who made us feel very welcome and provided invaluable advice to help us enjoy our trip and avoid mistakes that could spoil the holiday. We're not fans of campsites and Gordon's thirty years experience of identifying wild camping spots was much appreciated and enabled us to stay in some stunning locations. Paul Robins and Fu Ho Lee.
Excellent!!! We both love holidaying in Scotland and have now found the perfect accommodation. Gordon & Corrine have perfected the whole booking, pickup and return process - from an informative website, quick email response to all enquiries, easy booking forms and a full tour with instruction covering the vehicle and all it's equipment at pickup.
Best accommodation - spotlessly clean and fully equipped for a perfect holiday, we hope to make a repeat booking for 2015.
We hired two motorhomes for us and another couple to travel round some of the west coast of Scotland. Right from the initial enquiry we always received a prompt and helpful response from Gordon; he was always willing to offer advice on routes and places to see. Between his ideas and some of our own, we planned a route that took us to some of the most beautiful and remote places we had all ever seen.
Having booked nearly a year in advance, after much planning we finally arrived in Perth to a warm welcome. The motorhomes were spotless and equipped with everything we needed. Gordon and Corinne made sure we all had full instructions on how to operate all the knobs and whistles on the vans and showed us all the little tricks needed to work everything properly. In case we forgot anything there were comprehensive instructions and reminders in both vans, very useful for the first few days until we got into the routine.
Once we set off we realised how good the vans were, they did not struggle at all with any of the steep hills, narrow roads and very winding passes that we took them on. The beds were lovely and comfortable, the heating was excellent and we always had hot water for a shower. The chocks were especially useful for the wild camping spots we stayed in, very important to keep your wine or whisky glass level! The real beauty of the vans was being able to stop in some gloriously remote places that you would never reach with a car, waking up to our own private beach in Cove one morning (complete with Highland cows) and finding amazing views round every corner.
Overall, an excellent holiday with the knowledge that if anything went wrong, help was only a phone call away. We would certainly come back to Gordon and Corinne if we return to Scotland again and would highly recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone looking to hire a motorhome and see some of the best that Scotland has to offer.
We had an absolutely fantastic time in the motorhome we hired from you. Collection and return was all very straightforward. The motorhome itself was lovely; comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. It was great to have the satnav and your map guide to good places to wild camp. We could happily have spent the rest of the summer touring around! A fantastic holiday and great service from yourselves. Thank you.
We believe that the motorhome is the best way to travel in Scotland. You can adapt your itinerary according to the weather. You can easily park and wild camp. We were in the Highlands and it was so quiet. No traffic jam! And if you have never travelled with a motorhome, Scottish Tourer is the ideal renting company. Gordon and Corinne explain everything in details and take time to give you the keys to spend fantastic holidays. Moreover, our motorhome was very comfortable (6 berth) and it was funny for the children!
Where to begin? From the moment we first picked up the phone to enquire about the motorhome, til the moment we returned it afterwards, everything went perfectly. We are both very familiar with the highlands and islands of our beautiful country, but the motorhome gave us the opportunity to see and do things that just wouldn't have been possible on a rough camping trip. Although Gordon and Corinne were aware that this was our first trip in a motorhome, at no point were we made to feel patronized. The help and information offered at the time of collection was invaluable, and it's very reassuring to know that both Gordon and Corinne are just a phonecall away should you need anything. Our Swift 664 4 berth was brand spanking new, and extremely well-appointed. It drove fantastically and was excellent on fuel consumption. We had contacted several other hire companies nearby beforehand, but none even came close to the friendly attitude and professional knowledge of Scottish Tourers. We are already talking about next year's trip, and there's only one company we would even consider using. Thank you for one of the greatest trips we've had. Great job guys.
We have hired The 696 from Gordon & Corrine twice - Sept 2012 more recently in April'14. Great vans, brilliant friendly & professional service. I had a small incident reversing up a sand dune on north Uist which broke the small plastic bracket on the waste pipe from the kitchen sink. I called gordon straight away and he re-assured us that this was just one of those things. It was never an issue to call either Gordon or Corrine for some advise on how to operate any of the equipment when either wild camping or on a camp site. We went to Barra / South Uist /Benbeculla / North Uist / Skye & Applecross this time. By far the best camp site was glen brittle on Skye with fresh rolls available in the morning and the pub in Applecross had exceptional food. The vans give you the freedom to visit as many places as you can fit it. I prefer hooking up on the campsites as you get the electrics for the iPod docking stations/ hair dryers etc etc. Also the shower blocks on the majority of the campsites are excellent. The 696 is spacious and comfortable for 2 adults & 2 kids(11 & 13). We would recommend the bedding and bike hire- take your own toaster. We will be looking to hire again next year.
This was our first time renting a motor home and we can highly recommend Scottish Tourer. We like nice holidays and were not sure at first about a Motorhome holiday but the vans are so new and well equipped it was a great choice, We are a family of 5 and rented a 6 berth. Lots of room even with 5 bikes and all the skiing gear! What a great way to show your kids Scotland. Up and over the top at Applecross is well worth the effort and the Motorhome was straightforward and easy to drive. The information from Gordon and Corinne when picking the Motorhome up was invaluable and they offer to be at the end of their mobiles if any problems which is reassuring. We wildcamped most of the time which is ideal and the way to do it. The Van was clean tidy and impressive! What a great family business and super setup! Don't hesitate!
As Motorhome novices we were very excited about our holidays in Scottish Tourer's finest Motorhome. The service from Gordon and Corinne was amazing and every little detail had been thought of to make for a fantastic break for us and our three kids. Albeit we holidayed in April, we made loads of use of the table and chairs for picnics as the weather was so fantastic and the kids loved being able to take their bikes with them. We were very, very fortunate to have won our break in the Motorhome through the Speyside rally and Gordon and Corinne's tremendous generosity. We can't thank them enough for a fantastic holiday!
We highly recommend Scottish Tourer for rental. My husband and I just spent 8 days touring the highlands. Fantastic experience working with Scottish Tourer. Gordon and his wife, Corinne, go out of their way to make sure you have what you need when you hit the road. The motorhome was new and well stocked with everything we needed. They really took the time to go over everything inside and out before we took off and helped us plan an itinerary. They go so far as to provide you with a navi/gps preloaded with great destinations. What a wonderful and unforgettable experience we will always treasure!!
We've had a fantastic week touring Scotland in the Escape 664, just brilliant. We really appreciate the full explanations about the motorhome and all the little tips about wild camping and recommended campsites given to us before and during our holiday. It was reassuring to know that help was only a phone call away if needed! The motorhome itself was perfect and has made us realise this is the motorhome for us. Thank you so much.
We had a luxury 2 berth motorhome for a week in April and absolutely loved it. The vehicle was immaculate, really comfortable, spacious and very well equipped with everything you could want. We wild camped every night except one. It was also pretty easy to drive since neither of us had experience driving something that size. Gordon and Corinne were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. They gave us some excellent advice on where to go and very useful maps and tourist information and were a pleasure to deal with. Scotland was also a really beautiful and well equipped location for a motorhome holiday. We would love to go back and would definitely use Scottish Tourer again.
Thanks once again for your great service, to say a returning customer must be a satisfied one speaks for itself.
Anne says the 5 days just flew by, we had a great time, and once again were very lucky with the weather.
Hope you enjoy your touring and hopefully we will be in contact with you sometime next year to continue our motorhome experiences.
We had a brilliant week and we'll certainly be doing it again! The Motorhome was fantastic and lived up to all our expectations and although this was our first time in a Motorhome, the comprehensive handover that we got from Corinne and yourself when we picked it up meant that we took to the whole thing like seasoned pros! Thanks very much for that.
We 'Wild Camped' for four of the seven nights we were away and that was a fantastic experience; I've attached a couple of photos of our two favourites; the 'Fairy Pools' at Glen Brittle on Skye and a really nice spot just south of Ullapool about a mile from the Braemore Junction on the A832. Whilst the ability to 'Wild Camp' was brilliant it was also really great to be able to just stop at a nice spot and have something to eat or just have a cuppa and admire the view.
I've attached a 'panoramic' view that we took when we stopped opposite Raasay on the way to Ullapool and another shot overlooking Loch Kishorn.
All in all a fantastic week and we hope to see you again next year... thanks again!
Scottish Tourer offers a excellent service which I doubt is offered by any other motorhome rental company in Scotland. From the first time we made contact with Gordon and Corinne we realised that they were a genuine company always willing to help and offering a personalised service. They have extensive experience with motorhomes and they helped up plan our holiday to the last detail. We (2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 11) hired a motorhome for 11 days in September and we had a great time thanks to the tips offered by Gordon and Corinne. We were able to experience wild camping in several exclusive and dream locations which we wouldn't have tried unless we had received their advice. The motorhome was spotless and almost new as advertised on their website. This was one of the holidays we will continue to remember. We have been recommending Scottish Tourer to all our friends and family and we highly recommend them to anyone who is considering a motorhome holiday in Scotland.
This holiday was my husband's choice for a 30th wedding anniversary. When he said a motorhome holiday, my immediate thought was across America. He then said Scotland and I felt a little deflated, but I shouldn't have been. We had the best time.
We search on line and found Scottish Tourer. Thank heavens for technology. it was so easy to book and Gordon and Connie were always on hand to ask those important questions. The motor home was just perfect but as we hadn't done before so were a little apprehensive.
Gordon and Connie made everything so simple when explaining what we had to do and were so helpful when deciding where to go. the motor home has been used all through the Summer but it was just like a brand new. Their help made sure the holiday was relaxing and stimulating as the same time.
Wild camping is the best option when seeing Scotland, we had 8 days travelling around the North West of Scotland. Such beautiful scenery and the motorhome was really easy to drive, so easy that you can be inclined to travel too far. my advice is to not be too adventurous when deciding how far you want to go. give yourself time to experience the atmosphere and wild camp as much as possible. the motor home allows you be free to stop wherever you want and gives you the luxury of all your own facilities without the pressure of needing to find the next campsite.
we will definitely do this again but with the knowledge that we can take a slower pace. there would be no other option for us than booking again with Scottish Tourer's. Our best place to stay was most definitely the Cairngorms. Stunning scenery when you stay at the top, peace and quiet by the lake if you stop at the lower level.
All we can say is thank you so much for helping to make this 30th anniversary celebration the best experience ever.
Thank you Gordon and Connie.
We had talked about a motor-home for quite a while but never got round to it, however earlier this year we decided we would give it a try and through the website chose scottish tourer. From the initial contact when we turned up without an appointment there was no problems as Corrine & Gordon took time to show us there motor- homes. We finally decided to hire an escape 664 for 4 days as an initial trial and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the motor-home. Gordons advice on wild campsites and his information on the sat-nav was greatly appreciated. We had no hesitation in booking one for next year.
The quality of the motor home fittings, and the recommendations on wild campsites, routes, restaurants and just about everything Gordon and Corinne suggested made this vacation very special. The weather was poor throughout the trip but all their offerings made up for it. We have had campervan holidays in Australia and New Zealand but Scottishtourer is a class of its own. On the second day of our trip the 664 that we hired had a clutch problem, Gordon and Corinne came to our rescue within a few hours and replaced the camper with a superlux model at no extra cost. Thanks again for making our time in Scotland unforgettable.
For one year, we decided to travel in Scotland with my son, his wife and our two grandchildren. Our aim was in particular to discover Islay but also the Trossachs, Oban and finally Edinburgh. Just a week before our arrival, the motorhome we booked to Gordon was in an accident and no more available... Fortunately Gordon founded a solution and save our holidays ! Scotland is a very beautyfull country with a preserved nature, and we have been filled with enthusiasm by contact with scottish people. We had a warm welcome everywhere during this trip, the behaviour of scotish drivers is remarkable and far from what we know in France...
Most of all, we do appreciate the relationship, the advices and the welcome from Gordon and Corinne. They were very kind and very thoughtful with us, before during and after our trip. A thing is certain : one can count on Scottish Tourer's company to succeed in having good time in Scotland!
Our journey back to Czech republic was good (without delay our fly :-)). It was our first experience with Motorhome and we were happy. Our son loved traveling with Motorhome too.
We were 4 families, each booking a campervan with Scottish Tourer, for a 10-day tour of Schotland (summer of 2013). When we arrived in Perth for the pickup of the vans, we were received with real warmth and professionalism. The campervans where brand new, totally immaculate and the linens even matched the design of the furniture. Gordon and Corinne went to huge extent to make our trip as enjoyable and interesting as possible, even going over the whole route we planned, correcting where needed or handing out extra tips. The vans contained checklists before 'take-off' or in case of a breakdown and extensive information about things to visit. When after the trip, it appeared I'd forgotten something in the van, they posted it without hesitation back to me. We had a wonderful trip, and their professionalism played a huge part in it. We would recommend Scottish Tourer without hesitation.
When my wife suffered a stroke in 2009 we thought our holidays were over, that was until I found Scottish Tourer Perth only 12miles from my house, what I was looking for was a motorhome that I could manage by myself and that's what I found.
Fixed bed, toilet, shower, kitchen, sat nav rearview camera, ample storage all together in a NEW motorhome. From paying the deposit to returning the motorhome Gordon and Corinne were there for me at the end of mobile or e-mail. Although we only travelled to the Moray Coast it was a holiday to remember with lovely weather and stunning views. When people asked me if I enjoyed it and would recommend it, I just tell them well I have booked it again for next year that speaks for itself. Many Thanks to Gordon and Corinne.
Back home again after a splendid few days playing golf in Fife! Our holiday in the motor homes with the Burgess' will stay as a super memory with us, until the next time!! We cannot thank you both enough for the friendly and helpful way you run your business. We found everything as we had hoped it would be in the motor home itself and your advice on wild camping and things to do very useful indeed. We wish you continued success with your company and will not hesitate to recommend you to everyone who is interested in touring in a motor home.
We are a couple with 2 children aged 10 and 7, coming from the south of France. We wanted to visit Scotland in motorhome to benefit as much as possible of wild nature, beautiful landscapes, and close exchanges with Scots in small villages. And, with Scottish Tourer, we got exactly what we came for. We hired a Swift Escape 664 motorhome, fitted with 4 berth for 15 days in July/August. Size of this motorhome is a good balance between easy driving and sufficient comfort. Corinne and Gordon have fitted this motorhome with all necessary equipments (awning, BBQ, 4 chairs and table, ..). No extra cost is charged, or missing equipment. We also hired bedding and towel pack, and Corinne doubled the number of towels as we hired the motorhome two weeks. Little attention, highly appreciated. Cherry on the cake : GPS with wild camps list. Very helpful to find a place for dinner and night, mostly in incredible wild places, in the middle of nowhere, except trees, lochs, rocks, squirrels, birds, ... What about Scotland: just perfect. Nice people, beautiful castles, amazing landscapes, good fish and chips, and beers, and last but not least, nice bagpipes music, reassuring atmosphere. This trip was a fantastic experience, and Gordon and Corinne have contributed to this with the Premium service provided by Scottish Tourer.
Back in Australia now, thanks for all your help with the motorhome.
Could not fault the service from Scottish Tourer, excellent all round. Airport transfers were seamless. Motorhome was almost brand new and drove like a dream. We had the larger version with over-cabin double bed because the smaller ones were booked out. Next time we would wait for the smaller version with double bed at the back, it is better suited for two people. Your directions and tips on the best way to spend our time worked perfectly and we followed the directions almost to the letter. One of the highlights was the visit to Oban, the home of the McDougall clan where we visited two of the clan castles and happened to meet the clan chief. Our preference was for paid parks rather than wild camping, but many of the parks were the basic campgrounds for a £10 fee, this worked perfectly for us. They were all clean and friendly with lots of other travellers to talk to. Here are just a few pics of what was a memorable holiday in Scotland. Thanks again.
This was our first visit to the Highlands and our first experience of a holiday in a motorhome . The two just went together so well. Gordon and Corrine were helpful from the onset, answering any questions we had promptly, and supplying us with really helpful information regarding possible routes and places of interest to visit during our 9 day trip in July. The motorhome we hired was the Bessacar - it was fabulous, well equipped and for the two of us had a good amount of space. Corrine and Gordon provided us with a lovely welcome pack of goodies. It's those little touches that make you feel so cared for. A special mention must go to the bed. It was oh so comfortable! As someone who suffers with a bad back this was much appreciated. We covered 900 miles over the 9 days, most of the time wild camping in places recommended by Gordon and Corrine. Wow it was lovely to wake up each morning at a different spot, opening the blinds to look out on fantastic loch and/or mountain views. The motorhome gave us the total freedom to go where we wanted at the times we wanted. No matter how remote the places we went to we did not have to worry about getting back for meals and accommodation etc we could simply stay there!! It was lovely to know that Gordon and Corrine were always in the background and were happy to be contacted if we needed them. It is clear that they know all the intricacies of each of their motorhomes very well - so when we needed to ring them with a query they were able to help us straight away. Gordon and Corrine offer a personalised and bespoke service so that their clients get the holiday they want. We have no hesitation in recommending ScottishTourer for people looking for a quality motorhome holiday.
We hired a 6 berth Swift 696 for a week in August 2013. The motorhome we got was brand new and everything was clean and in perfect condition. It was our first time in a motorhome and Gordon and Corinne, real motorhome enthusiasts, took the time to explain how everything worked and provided us with lots of helpful information for our trip. I would strongly recommend Scottish Tourer to everyone that is planning to hire a motorhome.
This was our second year that we hired a motor home from you and once again cannot fault the motor home you gave us very clean and reliable. We really enjoyed our holiday in Scotland and would not hesitate to hire from you again, customer satisfaction 101%. Thank you and please keep up the good work.

From our initial enquiry about hiring a motorhome the whole process was very smooth and a pleasure to deal with Gordon and Corrine.
We collected the motorhome on the Saturday and we were on our way just after lunchtime taking on board all the helpful tips we received. The motorhome was spotless and a pleasure to drive (my husband assured me) and we were delighted with the space in the motorhome and more importantly that it had a decent sized fridge!
Travelling around Scotland and staying in some gorgeous places I would recommend this to everyone... really good fun (our 5 year old loved it) and made even easier with helpful owners.
A family wedding on a remote Scottish Island with limited accommodation encouraged us to a look at hiring a motorhome to travel and stay there. We are not big on camping so weren't sure how it would turn out. It was great. The motorhome was immaculate and very well kitted out, it had everything we needed for our holiday with our two 'young adult' children, including a big fridge. The beds were comfortable, we had enough space and the facilities worked just fine. A highlight for me was the ability to crack open the celebratory champagne while travelling in comfort through the Scottish highlands, occasionally playing cards with the children as my husband was chief driver! The island was a little bit wet and windy (as expected) so heating was a bonus and as we were 'wild camping' the on board power supply was well used, as was the DVD player. Corrine and Gordon were great from start to finish and the whole process was really easy. If you are looking for a holiday with a difference then look no further.
We found out about the Scottish tourer on the net and we got an answer on our request mail very soon and then had a good contact all the time until our Scotland trip. We got some route suggestions and wild camping spots on the mail so we could plan our trip. We were picked up at the Edinburgh airport and taken to Perth. Got a very good description of the motor home and even more suggestions of nice spots in Scotland. We had to call Gordon and Corinne a couple of times during our trip and they were always very helpful and nice. If we will rent a motorhome in Scotland again we would definitely contact Scottishtourer again. We will recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone renting a motorhome in Scotland. Thank you Gordon and Corinne for taking such good care of us.
We always said that one day we would do a Motorhome road trip, then one day we watched the cartoon UP; and that was it, do it now before it's to late.Having looked at other hire company's we decided on Scottish Tourer mostly on the comments of the quality of service you get,and we weren't disappointed.
Gordon & Corinne gave lots of advice on what to see and possible routes to take, we went out to the Arisaig area and then over to Skye by Ferry from Mallaig, and back across to the Black Isle to the Moray Firth. (Watching Dolphins before breakfast It can't get any better than that).
The weather was at times a bit wild but it was all part of the trip. The van was well equipped, the heating was very good so we never felt cold and the bed was so comfy that we would have taken it home with us. because of the weather we ended up making cups of tea for the unfortunate family's trying to put up tents in heavy rain, when we were parked up we invited a sopping wet hiker to share some tea an biscuits, he was a Canadian post graduate space science student who showed us fantastic pictures of the Northern Lights he took while doing research in Sweden. We also met Helmut a German cyclist who had run out of meths for his stove so we warmed up his beans and did some toast in the small but perfectly formed kitchen.
What we are saying is that its about the journey and the people you will meet, from the Farmer who let us feed one of his Highland Cows cattle nuts, to the strangers who invited us to wild camp in a beautiful location.
As for driving the van I was more than a little nervous at the prospect, but Gordon gave us lots of advice before we set off and was always available on the phone if needed.
Would we do this again?. Absolutely! we will be back. You see the thing about a having an adventure is that you want to go on another one.
Scottish Tourer Comment: The Highland cattle being fed in the above image was under a controled situation, with the permission of the farmer, and with special feeding. Please observe warnings on the danger posed by Highland cattle and take care when trying to photograph them in the wild, particularly when they are with calves.
We had a wonderful 3 week Scottish holiday in a palatial Bessacar Motorhome. Everything we could possibly need was included & was immaculately clean. Corrine & Gordon were friendly & helpful right from our initial contact. They provide great & efficient customer service, we can't speak highly enough of them. Scotland turned on glorious weather for 2 ex pat Scots. In short, a memorable holiday and we have no hesitation in recommending Scottish Tourer.
We have just returned from a weeks holiday exploring Scotland in one of Scottish Tourers motorhomes and had a truly wonderful time. We recommend this company 100 percent and cannot fault the service we received.
We researched a great deal on the Internet trying to find a company and are so pleased that we chose Scottish Tourer. We hired a Swift 664 four berth which was the perfect size for our party of two adults and a five month old baby. The motorhome was in excellent condition and fully equipped with everything we needed to make our holiday enjoyable and comfortable. The service we received from Corinne and Gordon was second to none from the moment we first enquired about hiring from them to the moment we sadly returned our motor home at the end of our holiday. They could not do enough to help ensure that we had the perfect holiday.
We travelled from Perth, over to Fort William and Fort Augustus to search for Nessie, and then on to Inverness and back to Perth through the Cairngorm mountains. It was the perfect distance and amount of travelling to do with a small baby. The beauty of having a motorhome meant that we had the freedom to stop whenever we wanted to and had all home comforts close to hand.
If like us a few months ago, you are busy trawling the Internet looking for a suitable company to hire from and worried about making the right choice then look no further than Scottish Tourer. We cannot recommend this company highly enough.
Thank you Gordon and Corinne for a lovely holiday.
Once we had decided to tour the Western Isles we set about the task of hiring a Motor home. We settled on 'Scottish Tourer' having first digested all the information on their website. We have hired Motor homes in the past and have owned our own Touring Caravan so have a good idea of what is important.
Gordon and Corrine were very helpful and made booking a Motor home for our specific needs very simple. The booking process was very easy and stress free.
I picked up the Motor home and was immediately struck by the first class condition of this years Model. Gordon and Corrine gave a very comprehensive guide to the workings of our home for the coming week.
We had a fantastic holiday and visited 10 Islands and camped near Beaches and with Majestic views of the Outer Islands.
Would we use them again? Without a doubt! But when we do the Western Isles again we will take 2 weeks. One is just not long enough.
If you are thinking of Hiring a Motor home look no further.
My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic week touring the west coast of Scotland and Skye in uncharacteristically fine and dry weather in an Escape 664 motorhome. Our initial decision to use Scottish Tourers was largely based on the company's informative website and positive testimonials. Various queries we had regarding the hire were dealt with swiftly and comprehensively. On arriving in Perth, we were impressed by the attention to detail. Corinne and Gordon took considerable time to explain the various features of the vehicle and how to operate it, a particularly reassuring point as we were newcomers to motorhome holidays, Gordon also suggested a route taking in the main highlights and pointed out potential hazards on the road. The Escape 664 was well designed and equipped and perfect for our needs. We particularly appreciated the comfortable fixed bed, roomy bathroom, ample storage space and swivel driver's seat. The hire also included various additional items such as a barbecue, folding chairs and table, bike rack to make camping more enjoyable. Although we enjoyed our two nights spent on campsites, the highlight of the holiday was definitely the wild camping. Gordon and Corinne have produced a comprehensive list of suitable spots which we found invaluable. On returning the vehicle we also appreciated the fact that Gordon and Corinne were keen to hear our experiences and receive our feedback, despite having to prepare the vehicle for the next customer. This was the first time we had hired a motorhome from Scottish Tourers but it certainly won't be the last. We're definitely hooked!
Scottish Tourer is owned and managed by Gordon and Corinne who are passionate about touring in motor-homes and are keen to pass on their considerable knowledge and experiences to clients. They only hire out motor-homes which are less than one years old and, as such, are in excellent condition - mechanically sound and fully equipped/functioning interiors, and very comfortable to drive and live in. The personal service they offer is excellent. My wife, two daughters and I hired a 6 berth motor-home and spent seven days touring the Caingorms, the west coast and the Isle of Skye alternating between wild camps (such as Loch Morlich and Applecross Bay) and private campsites. Gordon's and Corinne's knowledge of wild campsites in Scotland is awesome. They were always just a phone call away 24/7 in case of problems. We have no hesitation in recommending their company to anyone considering touring Scotland. Many thanks to Gordon and Corinne for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable and memorable.
Absolutely brilliant holiday, motor home and service. From the moment we found the website for Scottish Tourer we felt at ease to venture on our first holiday in a motor home. The help and advice received from Gordon & Corinne was excellent and helped so much in planning where to go, what to look out for and be aware of as well as advising on 'wild camp' spots - the best part of touring in a motor home. As other have said there are companies offering cheaper rentals - the motor home we hired was immaculate and lovely to drive, the power in the engine to tackle some of the hills was exceptional and made us feel safe and relaxed. We were extremely happy to have made the choice we did as we toured the West coast - helped to plan by Scottish Tourer.
We would not hesitate to recommend using Scottish Tourer to anybody - we did during our stay to people who commented how good the motor home looked and anyone who has asked of our experience have been left in no doubt that Scottish Tourer are an exceptional company who reflect their passion into their business. We will definitely be going back to them - hopefully to the islands next time! Thank you Gordon & Corinne.
As whisky friends we had a great plan to make a Whisky Tour through Scotland. But how we were thinking. By car and B&B, organized by coach, or even by sailing yacht or maybe a motor home? After deliberation, thoroughly listing pros and cons we chose the option of a motor home. But that was easier said than done. Looking on the Internet it gave a long list of rental companies, intermediaries of private owned, quality and price differences.
After a comparison of our wish list we selected Scottish Tourer as the number one. From the beginning, after the first communications it felt really okay. We were well informed, got good tips in our further preparation of our Whisky Tour. As agreed, we were picked up from Edinburgh Airport to collect the motorhome at Scottish Tourer in Perth. During the trip we were very well briefed by Gordon, he gave us good information how to handle and drive the motorhome. In Perth we met our brand new 'house on wheels' for the coming week. What could we wish more, the motor home wasbrand new, very very complete, equipped as specified. We visited 12 distilleries started in Pitlochry, Skye, Alness, Nairn, Aberlour, Craigellachie, Keith, Ballater, Balmoral and back to Pitlochry.
Our Whisky Tour was very successful thanks to the high quality of service from Gordon & Corinne. We will definitely be back for another Whisky Tour!
Had a great holiday in your Scottish Tourer motor home. We have been recommending this type of holiday to everyone who knows us. We have already come across a few friends who are now considering this type of break. You make it easy for novices like us to feel assured that if there are any questions you are available over the phone at any time. The motor home was spotless and we found it easy to operate everything and were really impressed with the information that you gave us to help us plan our holiday. We managed to stop at a couple of wild camping spots and it was a great feeling when you are passing a really nice spot just to be able to stop and have a wee break. Only down side was the weather which was a bit mixed, but it certainly never put us off. We managed to get to everywhere that we had planned and would certainly do a motor home holiday again with Scottish Tourer.
Having just returned from two weeks holiday in Scotland in a motor home hired from ScottishTourers, we can thoroughly recommend this company's services to anyone who might be considering embarking on a similar venture. Because of their policy to renew their vehicles annually, you will be guaranteed a reliable, clean, well appointed motor home which is no more than twelve months old. This counts for a lot when considering the relative costs of different companies who hire out vehicles in this way.We can also, sadly, speak from bitter experience, of organisations who are nowhere near as diligent or attentive to detail, particularly with regard to road worthiness. BE WARNED, CHEAPEST IS RARELY BEST.
Gordon's advice when you collect your motor home is good - listen to him. He knows Scottish roads and speaks from experience. He will give you a good road atlas and advise you of roads which you should not attempt to venture down but others which can be negotiated with care will provide you with breathtaking views which, in our opinion are some of the best in the world.
Nothing in this world is perfect and things can go wrong. The spare 'leisure' battery on our vehicle proved to be faulty (bear in my mind that this was a brand new vehicle so this defect was a complete unknown). One telephone call summoned Gordon from Perth to Ullapool, which necessitated an overnight stop for him, with a replacement battery. For Scottish Tourers, nothing is too much trouble. Gordon and Corrine will provide you with a holiday which you will want to repeat again and again.
Back from our mini tour of scotland ! ... I have to say it was the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen ! ... Gordon and corrine worked out a route so we managed to get the most from our week away ! ... The best place was applecross ' if anyone is touring scotland ' put that as your number one destination ' you won't be disappointed ! ... were so glad we chose scottish tourer motorhomes ' from the first phone call to returning the van ' we felt so at ease with corrine and gordon ! ... We have tried in the past to hire a motorhome to tour wales ' and were put off by the misleading information we were given ' so we did it doing bed and breakfast ! ... But when we decided to tour scotland ' we saw scottish tourer and gave them a try ' and were so glad we did ! ... Corrine and gordon couldn't have done more for us if they had tried ' and there so well organised 'and as they've toured for a number of years ' all of the motorhomes are equiped with all you could possibly need ! ... Were hoping to tour the east coast next year ' and rest assured it will be with scottish tourer ! ... So from yvonne ' richard ' joanne and myself ' a very big thankyou and see you again soon.
It was by pure chance that I came across Scottish Tourer when I was on the lookout for a campervan rental agency on Google. But having read their website, Being a fairly experienced campervan vacationer (though previously only in New Zealand and Australia), I was convinced that they were the one for me. They seemed to be really focused on the customer and service seems to be of high priority. Not only that, I was attracted by the strategy of using only late models of vehicles (really, none of their vehicle is over 6 months old). I love new things.
I was not wrong. Our brief but thoroughly enjoyable and fulfilling week long (6 days to be precise due to time constraints) vacation on a Bessacar top-of-line luxury campervan was something we will always remember. From the time, I made the very first enquiry to the time we were dropped off at the Glasgow airport, customer service by Gordon and Corinne was personalised and top-notch. They responded promptly to emails, recommended hotels to stay-in before and after the vehicle was picked up, took time to explain a proposed itinerary of the Highlands and Western Coast, ensured cleanliness of the vehicle, and post hire, ensure prompt settlement of the paperwork and deposit refunds. I also appreciate their recommendation for good seafood restaurants, but unfortunately did not get the chance to try those as I took short-cuts away from the routes they had suggested.
Based on their suggestions, it would have taken a good two weeks to see the central and western part of Scotland and we only have half of that. So we improvised and did a whirlwind circuit with one night in each of the following locations (wild camping unless stated) : Cairngorm Mountains Ski Area (near Aviemore), Cove on Loch Ewe, Staffin camp site on Isle of Skye, Ben Nevis Park, near Ardlui on bank of Loch Lomond, and Blairlogie Witches Craig camp site near Stirling (which was amazing).
In having several conversations before and after the hire, I realised many little things that Gordon and Corinne do that may not be apparent. They want their customers to have a great time during their vacation and heard them share various stories about how they go out the way to ensure this.
To give a completely balanced view, I have to give some issues I encountered during this trip but not all of them can be avoided. The weather unfortunately was not cooperating as it was unseasonally wet (5 out of the 6 days it was raining), had problems with the satellite TV and was not working for half of the trip, and there was an temporary problem with the rear-view camera which was promptly fixed by me after some simple troubleshooting. Also, frankly, Perth is a little out of the way if you are arriving from Glasgow and is in my case, had to put up one night each way in a hotel due to the international flights. However, it was not all bad as I see it as an opportunity to experience beautiful Scotland in a different way. The cost was not the lowest; look elsewhere is you want a cheap deal but from my viewpoint, it was money well-spent . Also, the package had everything included (except bedding/towels) so before you compare with others, see what is optional.
I would highly recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone seeking a high quality (dare I say luxury), value for money campervan hire.
Scottish Tourer Comment: The satellite dish for the TV needs a clear uninterrupted view of the Sky things such as, Hills, Trees, buildings etc will cause weak or no signal, However there is a DVD player fitted to all our Motorhomes, The weather... Oh how we wish we could control this ... Unfortunately this week was particularly wet all over Europe so was just not a Scottish thing. Perth is equidistant around one hour away from the 3 Major Airports in Scotland and is on the border between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands which we believe makes Perth the Ideal place to start a Motorhome Holiday...
We have hired previously from Gordon and Corinne and after the great motorhome holiday we had the last time, we had no hesitation in hiring from them again. The motorhome we were provided with was brand new, equipped to the highest standard and was immaculately clean. The exclusive wild camping list that Gordon and Corinne have compiled was invaluable in helping us pre plan our trip around the west coast and western isles of Scotland. The pictures below show two of the lovely spots we stayed overnight on Harris.
We will definitely be back to hire from Scottishtourer again and thank Gordon and Corinne for there warm, friendly and thoroughly comprehensive service.
We had an amazing time touring around the Highlands and Islands of Scotland within the UK using a Fiat 644 motor home from Scottish Tourer. The vehicle was absolutely fantastic and the additional features installed provided a luxurious home for the period of our 12 day holiday. Both Gordon and Corinne were exceptionally helpful and provide a very good service. Holiday to remember and definitely recommended.
This was a brand new way of holidaying for us, and something we had wanted to do for quite a while. After a week of touring the Outer Hebrides and Skye we came back having had a terrific time with some excellent weather along the way. Gordon and Corinne were both extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. From our initial enquiry right through to the end of the hire we knew we were dealing with good people, and the vehicle that was home to us for the week was superb, spacious and comprehensively kitted out. Overall, the whole experience was a positive one for us and I am certain that it is something we will do again.
We were more than happy to choose scottshtourer motorhome because we really felt we were dealing with a another couple somewhere in scotland who really wanted us to have a great holiday. Being french, we like to complain but didn't find much to say.... great help and advice from the beginning : we almost changed all our previous plans to go with your last minute advice just before taking the motorhome. Going for less route (not more than 150km a day) to be able to really enjoy each place with one stop a day. The motorhome we had being the top class one was just a palace inside and us only being a couple really felt super confortable all the way. I already had the chance to use a motorhome once before with my dad's and remembered the pain when driving up a hill at 90 km/h maximum! This one could stay in 6th gear up to 120km/h in a hill! No problem...
And the most important, the country is just amazing, we stayed 10 days and will advice all future customers of scottish tourer to go up to inverness with a quick stop a Blair Castle/House of Bruar - to then pitstop around Fort George for the night. And then spend all your time on the west coast + Skye which is the place to be. Applecross area and its road is a no miss - if you get the sun it will be a highlight of your stay.
We will conclude on the fact that you don't get much sun in scotland, but in april we had it 50% of the time still. And the scenery on the mountains with the snow at the peak is even more enjoyable when having wind and rain, it really feels like a pure scottish experience. With some Talisker in your motorhome you always find something to drink when looking at the view.
Again, you can really trust Gordon & Corrine 100% percent, and I was not paid to write this message... unlike many messages you can read on testimonials. ScottishTourer is just the way not to have any surprise for your motorhome scottish holidays.
Before writing this review, I thought I would have a look at previous testimonials on the website and I am hard pressed to find something new to say, as I can only agree with the comments about the helpfulness and expertise of Gordon and Corinne and the beautiful brand new motorhome that they trusted us with!
This was a first foray for us into motorhoming and the realisation of an ambition to see something of our own beautiful country, after years of foreign travel. The motorhome turned out to be a perfect way to do this and we were blessed with wonderful weather - although the nights were freezing, this didn't bother us because of the heating system.
As we were visiting the islands of the Outer Hebrides, Ken had done a certain amount of planning and booking ferries to ensure we could get from island to island, but within the plan we enjoyed the freedom to change our minds and although we did mostly use sites,it is reassuring to know that if you don't find anything suitable you can be self sufficient.
One thing that no one had told us about was that as soon as you are driving a motorhome you become a member of an unofficial 'club', as the drivers give each other a little acknowledging wave as they pass by - a nice touch of old fashioned courtesy, in this modern age.
The trip was a great success and I'm sure we will have more in the future. We would not hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer as they really seem to care that their customers have a great experience.
We are just back from a one-week sunny (but cold) holiday in Scotland where we really had a nice stay. As a family with 4 young kids (aged 8 tot 4), we thought a motorhome would be the best solution to travel through the country, and we were right.
When we arrived at the airport in Edinburgh Gordon came and fetched us up. Gordon and Corinne then took all the necessary time to provide us the information we needed not just about the motorhome itself, they also gave us advice on where to go, what to see, where tot eat, which way to drive (or not!). We also received leaflets with things to do and see and a handy road map with personal annotations (very useful !).During the holiday Gordon and his wife were available to answer our questions. So it was not just motorhome rental, it really was a full and professional service.
In the motorhome self, everything was very clean and well prepared and we found everything we needed. It was very comfortable and practical. While driving, the kids could read, play, watch DVD's or even sleep. We used to decide where to sleep at the end of each day... sleeping in the nature (wild camping is common in Scotland) of in a campsite (no reservation on forehand, place everywhere and always a good contact with kind people). The motorhome gave us a great feeling of freedom and intimacy at the same time... I recommend it for everyone who loves the nature . As far as we are concerned we're looking forward to coming back to Scotland next year!
Despite the (mostly) very wet, windy and cold weather we experienced on our April Scottish adventure, we absolutely loved our first experience of motorhoming. We hired the fabulous motorhome from Gordon and Corrine for two weeks and wild camped many of those nights in the Highlands and Islands plus a few nights at some excellent Camping and Caravanning Club sites. We also witnessed the motorhome drivers'waving club as we travelled around.
The motorhome bed was extremely comfortable, the heating and hot water were so efficient and the storage for all our effects was amazing. We especially loved sitting in the comfortable lounge area with a glass of wine and wee dram while the weather did its worst outside-nothing could be cosier!
The list of wild camping spots provided to us was extremely helpful and we found some new spots of our own too. We found the motorhome very easy to drive and manouevre, and covered many miles on a variety of roads. Gordon and Corrine have been excellent throughout the build up to and during our trip. Everytime we had a question it was answered in minutes if not seconds at any time of the day and wherever they were.
We have definitely fallen in love with motorhoming and it has given us the confidence to try it further afield in Europe and the USA. We would definitely recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone.
Firstly we thought your website was the best out there and the fact you were hiring out a new fleet of vans was an absolute plus. We loved the fact too that as much as this is a business for you guys it is your passion too. It was great to know who you were dealing with from the very first enquiry. You have been extremely successful in providing that personal touch, which so many businesses out there lack these days. You both quite literally are prepared to go that extra mile or several hundred to look after your customers as we found out on our holiday!
It was lovely to be invited into your home and put us at ease about our adventure in our new holiday home on wheels as we had never hired a motorhome before. We will definitely repeat the experience again, but will only be hiring from you guys as I am sure we would only be disappointed to hire from anyone else. We only wished we had had more time. Scotland is just such a beautiful country, we could of stopped every two minutes to take photos and we absolutely could being in the motorhome.
Every aspect of the booking process was easy from start to finish which is completely down to you both being efficient and knowing your business so well. To know too that we could ask lots of questions at any time before and during our trip was really reassuring. So congratulations on running such a tight ship and thank you for a stress free holiday experience.
We wish you both all the very best and continued success for your business.
We arrived to find a beautifully presented motorhome. Although the motorhome had covered over 13,000 miles it appeared brand new and was a testament to both Gordon's and Corrine's attention to detail. It was also a testament to previous clients of Scottish Tourer who had clearly looked after it! We spent our week touring the North Highlands starting on the west coast. Stunning scenery and a very intersting drive over the pass to Applecross! Gordon was very good at giving us the confidence to explore remote places and explaining where we could, and could not, safely go.
From Applecross we headed around the coast heading nortwards and the sheer beauty, and most spectacukar scenery that we encountered over the next few days will stay with us forever. Being high up in the motorhome is also a considerable advantage for making the most of the scenery and views. Many roads were single track, with passing places, but there was so little traffic that this was never a problem. We got as far as Durness, at the very top, and then travelled down inland through Lairg to Dornock on the east coast . We could often drive for many miles without seeing another car.
The weather during our trip, in early October, was equally spectacular and changeable. The sky was as interesting as the land, and perfectly in line with the very special atmosphere and feeling that comes with being in remote areas of the Scottish Highlands. Despite covering over 700 enjoyable miles in our week, we didn't get to see or do everything that we had planned, therefore it seems we will have to return at some point... as soon as possible!
Thanks for making our first Motorhome experience so enjoyable. The Motorhome was fully kitted out and was everything we hoped it would be which allowed us to enjoy both wild and tame camping in some superb locations and amidst spectacular scenery. We also had some of the best weather and sunsets you could hope to see in Scotland during October.
Your friendly and professional approach and the well presented advice made sure we got the best out of our holiday.
This was the first time we had ever been in a motor home and i can't wait to do it again When you see them at first it's hard to believe how spacious they are inside just like a home from home One of the best things was jut being able to stop and set up for the night where ever you wanted no looking for camp sites. I would recommend this to everyone.
We really enjoyed our holiday, the camper van was immaculate and very easy to drive. It was so comfortable with plenty of room and storage, so much in fact that we ended up leaving some stuff behind in the van! However you posted that onto us and it arrived perfectly. Very well packaged.
Wild camping was brilliant and we only used a campsite twice in order to load up again with water and power. One of the best holidays we've had.
We had a tremendous holiday in our motorhome. As first timers it was very comforting to be guided by Gordon and Corinne through exactly what we needed to know prior to booking - which was a lot. The demonstration on how to use the motorhome when we picked it up was almost too comprehensive, but it did mean that we coped with being self sufficient in the Outer Isles with no problems.
We chose these motor homes because they were guaranteed as being no more than 6 months old. We are so glad we did because the motorhome was as good as new.
I am sure we will motorhome again and we will definitely return to Gordon to hire from.
We hired the luxury 2 berth motorhome for a 5 day break to Harris & Lewis Via Skye. This was our first motorhome adventure but will not be our last, (Gordon showed us around the new luxury model that will be available next year which we hope to hire). After getting off to a bad start by us not bringing the duvet, Corrine quickly sorted us out.She also put the gas fire on as she showed us around the motorhome and all the controls. We could not have been paying to much attention as on the first night when it was getting dark we could not get the lights to work ! a quick call to Corrine and we were sorted.
Just to say we had a great time and are looking forward to the next time already! Your personal service and attention to detail was really appreciated (supplying the bedding when I thought we just had to supply the sheets etc.). I have attached just a few of my photos (proof of the sunny, but cold weather !)
Hope you have a good holiday and don`t wear out the new toy ( Bessacar Deluxe Motorhome) as I want it in good condition when I get it next year!
We wild camped the four nights, near Uigg the first night then ferry over to Tarbert. The next two nights were spent in total isolation at beaches on Harris and Lewis and the last night was at Tarbert for the early ferry return to Skye.(There is a water tap and you can dispose of your waste at the toilets at the tourist information near the ferry).
I had a great time driving the motorhome about 600 miles, even on single track roads (I only met the postman on the Golden road on Harris) ! Gordon gave good advice with respect to the size of the motorhome, reversing etc. We could not get the tv to work as we were out of signal however the cd/radio went on and the books got read as the last of the dog walkers left the beach we were left in total isolation total silence and total darkness ! to wake the following morning to beautiful weather and a walk on a deserted beach.
The quality of service, back up and the motohome could not be faulted. The whole motorhome experience, the beautiful weather and great scenery made for a very relaxing holiday. We shall return!
Found 'Scottish Tourer' very easily on the internet search engine but pleased to find that their testimonials are obviously from real clients unlike the rubbish you read on 'Trip Adviser'. Everything written about them was born out by our own experience. Gordon and Corinne are obviously passionate about motorhomes and it shows in the fantastic condition of the 2 / 4 berth motorhome we rented that was like new even though this was late September and they we due to sell it in October.
They went over every detail of the motorhome clearly and with humour, from a position of many years of experience. We had a fabulous time on Skye and Harris wild camping. This was our first experience of having a motorhome and it couldn't have been easier. Motorhomes have moved on a huge amount in the last few years and bear no resemblance to camping. There is certainly no roughing it, the facilities are fantastic and very easy to use., even emptying the toilet. I would recommend 'Scottish Tourer' to anybody and indeed if I was looking at buying a motorhome I would buy one from them at the end of the season.
We will certainly be back.
Highly recommend Scottish Tourer Motorhome Hire, this has been the best holiday ever. we have been everywhere we wanted to go without any hassle what so ever. the motorhome is well equipped and well just lovely and the owners of the company have assisted us at every turn and have been truely wonderful with our requests for trips to Ireland, early pick-up at the station, transfers to airport etc.
The motorhome has traversed over much of scotland, england, wales and Ireland since we have had it without a single problem. It is easy to drive and can handle small back roads, highways, hilly climbs and goes on/off ferrys easily. My husband and I have had the most amazing 28 days on board this beauty of a motorhome and are already planning our next trip back from Australia to discover more of this magnificent country and will definately be contacting Gordon and Corrine at the scottish tourer motorhome hire.
The holiday we had with your motorhome was a great experience and has left us wanting to do it again. Like most clients I guess, we did quite a bit of research on the internet before deciding to book with Scottish Tourer. And to be honest when I read most web sites testimonials I get a bit sceptical and cynical - can the experience really be that good? But I have to say that meeting you and Corinne and being welcomed into your home having been given such a comprehensive briefing on the vehicle itself exceeded expectations. Your passion and enthusiasm for your business, your clients and a desire to make sure that we made the most of our time in Scotland can be felt through your web site, from the first contact we had by telephone and email, and throughout the time we spent in the van itself. Your attention to detail gave us the assurance that even though we were complete novices with a motorhome we knew that help and support were there both in terms of the documentation and paperwork in the motorhome and we knew you were on the other end of a telephone if needed. Fortunately we didn't need to call you! The motorhome itself was fabulous. It felt brand new, it was very comfortable and perfect for exploring Scotland. Once I got used to the size of the vehicle it was really easy to drive and manoeuvre. The ability to find 'wild camping' places and the flexibility the motorhome gave us added to the sense of adventure. We met some fascinating people in our travels including a lady on a bicycle who wanted to take our photograph for her diary one evening when we were having a barbeque up the road from Applecross, and the retired climate change scientist running the little museum in one village we visited who said we could fill up with water from the hose at the back of his cottage if we needed to. If anyone has ever had the urge to try a holiday in a motorhome but were apprehensive about how to go about it then my recommendation would be to pick up the phone and talk to Gordon and Corinne and get it booked!
This was my first hire of a Motorhome in UK and chose Scottish Tourer to avoid the long drive from the South of England, and to be able to speak to local staff who know the areas most suitable to visit. The real winner was however Scotland the scenery on the West coast around Skye and Applecross must be one of the finest anywhere in the world. Following the advice and suggestions from Gordon we visited areas we would not usually have seen and Wild camped in places, such as beneath the Cullins overlooking the Lock Slapin towards Torrin only to be found by those that know are accessible with the Motorhome.
The Motorhome was new and in perfect condition and proved very easy to drive, particularly the additional reward camera made reversing and watching out for overtaking vehicles all the easier. This attention to detail was also seen in the cutlery and china ( yes china), all of which made a real difference to the comfort and enjoyment of the holiday.
I would warmly recommend Scottish Tourer with their efficient no fuss handovers, modern well equipped vehicles genuine local knowledge, and although the map is now well worn contains valuable extra details added by Gordon to indicate good camp sites, restaurants and places to take extra care. These extra details show the attention to detail Gordon & Corinne take to make the holiday all the more enjoyable, and of course there is the scenery of Scotland, regardless of the weather.
We hired from Gordon and Corinne a luxury 2 berth Swift Motorhome for a week in Sept '12. The whole experience was without issue, the Motorhome was well presented and very clean, it was very new and up to date with additional features such as satellite TV, wedges for level parking, awning, barbecue with table and chairs. We had a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the West of Scotland including the Isle of Skye and the vehicle was well equipped to facilitate wild parking.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Scottish Tourer to anyone looking to hire a modern, up to date Motorhome. The useful hints and tips we received from Gordon and Corinne regarding wild camp sites etc added to the enjoyment of our holiday.Fortunately the scottish weather was extremely kind to us.
Our experience with Scottish Tourer has been positive since the beginning. Gordon and Corinne answered quickly and friendly with complete information. The price was the best we could reach from different hire companies, above all for the extras ans services included. The caution was not to high, and that's important expecially for people coming from abroad. The family business makes contacts informal and simple, Gordon and Corinne was very kind, showing us an itinerary we could follow, great restaurants and places to overnight. I certainly suggest to travel with Murray's family's motorhomes!
The route we make ourselves with some tips from you . The Hebrides especially Barra there was beautiful. It is best to locate a campsite near the coast because of the mosquitoes!!! The ferry crossing there was beautiful, we have seen six whales. Also when we go back from Stornoway- Ullapool. We visit the Calanais Stones. On the North we follow the rout John O'Groats. Beautiful! We have free camped. We took water by the ferry and the gas pumps. Even if we saw a nice place where you could not spend the night, we asked and we were allowed in two cases there surely are So we are at a pier where Queen Elisabeth with the Britannia landed in order to go to visit with her mother at Castle Mey. This castle we have also visited. It was close to our camping place. From this Castle you see the Orkney island. We see them because the weather was beautiful. Sun!We have also at a beautiful location along the water at a fish processing plant. (Schottish Sea farm) We also try to visit the Old Man or Store but the weather was very bad. Here it would be an improvement if the path it would be made known how long the walk to the Old Man is! We were surprised that it is a very long walk to get there. We didn't finist the walk!:( Of course we vistit campsites for the cleaning of the toilet and for the laundry. Sometimes you have a long search, but then you find often beautiful spots to free camping. The route that we send you : the camperpictures (the little campers) mean that we found a free camp. The pictures with the flag is that we vistit a campsite. On the Hebrides were the hills purple. Heather flourished abundantly. We have also seen that many sheep running around loose everywhere. Lots of peat fields where also peat. The Island Sky we visit this Island in 2007 for a short trip, now we visit the more of this Island. We make a trip to the Talisker Whiskey company!
We booked a week in August with Scottish Tourers, for me and my husband and our two children (aged 4 and 7). The motorhome was well equipped and comfortable and Corinne and Gordon were more than happy to help whenever we had a query, whether it was in the run up to the holiday or during the holiday itself.
A motorhome holiday in Scotland is magical. For the first time, my children were dumbstruck by the natural beauty of a place. Each day was an adventure for them and they never tired of seeing new places.
At the end of the holiday, I asked my kids how our holiday in Scotland compared to our previous two holidays in the Canary Islands. Gran Canaria got 85/100, Lanzarote got 82/100 and our motorhoming holiday scored a massive 95/100. No small feat, considering how much they love their beach holidays...
This was our first holiday in a motorhome and we found it was one of the best holidays we've ever experienced. We had great support from Gordon and Corinne, any time of the day or night, if needed, and nothing was too much trouble. Their service included excellent advice and instruction prior to taking charge of the vehicle and plentiful, useful advice on routes to follow and on wild camping sites, places to visit, good food shops (this included an excellent butchers in Ullapool). The motorhome was in excellent condition and spotlessly clean throughout.
The motorhome allowed us the freedom to explore the magnificent scenery in the Highlands, some nights we wild camped, on others we stayed at campsites.
One night, we wild camped at the Aviemore ski centre, at the top of the Cairngorm and the views were stunning from the very top. There was even pockets of snow on one of the mountains next to us, and this was August! We usually only take a few photos on holiday, but in the highlands, we took around 150! The views on our trip were so fantastic. We would certainly recommend to our friends and family to use Scottish Tourer Motorhomes, and we ourselves, would certainly book with them again. Their service to customers is excellent. The photo below is taken from the top of Cairngorm.
We would like to thank you for the hire of the fabulous 6 berth Scottish Tourer Motorhome for our holiday touring Scotland and for all of your valuable advice and recommendations for places to visit and some of the most amazing roads and best routes.
The motorhome was very stylish, attracting many admiring glances, everything that we could have hoped for and more. It was absolutely immaculate and very comfortable with ample space, for a not so small family of 4, and fitted out with every facility that we could possibly want.
We were looking for a 'different' sort of holiday this year, getting away from the usual package deal and heading off to find adventure whilst touring an area of the UK that we had not visited before. As parents of 2 girls (11 and 16) it was also important to us that this should be a family holiday that we would all enjoy.
I must admit that I found the thought of driving, what is quite a large vehicle, fairly daunting, and felt very nervous driving away for the first time. However I was very surprised at how quickly I became accustomed to the motorhome, by the time we arrived at our first overnight stop, I felt very comfortable driving and was soon enjoying the elevated driving position and looking forward to the adventure ahead.
Although the motorhome is fully equipped to be totally self sufficient for wild camping, we chose a mixture of wild camping, finding some fabulous remote places, as well as staying on few established campsites, providing an opportunity to meet up with fellow holiday makers. The variety and choice of both wild and organised campsites throughout Scotland made for a great holiday with close family time as well as social days and evenings out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time touring Scotland. The motorhome was the perfect way to explore the fabulous wild and dramatic scenery as well as amazing historic and interesting places. This was the first time we had done anything like this, and we would thoroughly recommend Scottish Tourer Motorhome Hire. The motorhome was just fabulous and the friendly and helpful advice offered was a great benefit in planning what was a lovely family holiday.
Thank you very much once again for making your lovely motorhome available to us and for all your help and advice.
Gordon & Corinne provide more than a first class service. Every detail is thought of beforehand, they make the full experience from initial contact to handing back the keys effortless. I cannot recommend their business highly enough. If it was a hotel it would be 6 star!
We had an excellent holiday and found the experience of dealing with you most pleasant, reliable and helpful. Logistics were smooth, the van was great, you answered our calls, you were welcoming and provided a fine tour of the van and explanations before we left. A small thing that would assist comfort and reduce unnecessary costs is for the very basics to be left in the kitchen e.g. salt, pepper, sugar, oil. Otherwise, these items are being purchased repeatedly, and in quantities we couldn't hope to use. You don't need to provide them - just ask people to leave and replenish the basics. We also left toilet paper and handy towels and are sure these will be well appreciated by the next people.
Scottish Tourer Comment: A nice thought however, in the interests of Food Safety & Hygiene we cannot leave consumables from previous customers in our motorhomes...
Also we tend to find that customers want new and immaculately clean Motorhomes, We prepare every Motorhome prior to every hire personally (Gordon & Corinne) and The standard we try to achieve is that when a customer arrives its appears the Motorhome they are getting is brand new and unused by anyone else.
Just returned home from a wonderful week touring the Highlands of Scotland with a Motorhome hired from Scottish Tourer. We found them on the internet initially and were won over by the glowing reviews from previous customers. We have to say from day one booking on the internet we were impressed with the friendly and efficient way we were dealt with. Any questions we had were dealt with quickly and when collecting our Motorhome every thing was explained to us in detail. Thanks to Gordon's advice we took a route not previously planned but which turned out to be every thing and more we could have wished for. Always available at the other end of the phone to give advice we had complete confidence to set off into the wild blue yonder. The joy of this holiday was to venture forth each day and see what happens. If you stick to a route fine, if you choose to deviate fine, the wild camping gives you the freedom to stop when and where you want or if you prefer the amenities of a caravan park there are always some close by. We took pot luck and were never disappointed. If your considering this type of holiday we would highly recommend using Scottish Tourer run by Gordon & Corinne.
We had decided to have a four week motorhome vacation in Scotland, and being half a world away in Australia while we organised the trip there was a certain amount of trepidation as this was our first experience at "motor homing".
We selected Scottish Tourers based on a lot of internet research and testimonials from previous customers. The communication that followed between us and Scottish Tourers as we organised the trip gave us a sense of comfort and confidence.
You know when people are passionate about what they do that you can expect the best!
In the case of Scottish Tourers, Corrine and Gordon are totally committed to their business, their motorhomes and their customers.
In fact "customers" is a misnomer, we felt like we were old friends, from the moment Gordon collected us at Glasgow Airport and drove us to Perth in the courtesy van to the final day of our adventure.
Conveniently located in Perth, the pick up point was at their home. On arriving we were invited in for a cuppa and a full briefing on what we could expect.
Gordon then ran me through a full check out on the motorhome while Corrine showed Annie the interior and how the appliances and equipment worked.
The vehicle was immaculately presented and being first timers it was an eye opener as to just how luxurious our home for the next four weeks was.
After our induction, and full of instructions, we confidently set off to the nearby supermarket to stock up on provisions before commencing our trip.
Thanks to their itinerary guides, we were able to camp at some spectacular and unforgettable spots in the Highlands and the Outer Hebrides.
Throughout the trip we were able to contact Gordon or Corrine at any time of the night or day if we had any problems (or even if we got lost!). Gordon even gave us the occasional call to see how we were going and whether we needed anything at all.
Not only did Corrine and Gordon provide an exceptional service but even went above and beyond what we expected. On hearing that I was having trouble finding cycle hire at reasonable rates, Gordon actually purchased two quality bikes for us which are now available to all customers at very reasonable rates.
It's the small things like that which puts this company a cut above the others.
Would I use them again, Definitely!
Would I recommend them to my best friends, Absolutely!
Would I give them a 10 out of 10, Without hesitation!
As for our holiday, we are very happy. We spent a very nice week despite the weather that was not top ! We have loads of wonderful pictures on paper and in our heads ! It was our first time in Motorhome and we just loved it. It lets a lot of freedom, and allows to discover beautiful spots. Our 4-year-old girl just loved the fact that she was sleeping, eating, showering in a "home that moves on the road" ! We were also very happy of your welcoming and the state of the motorhome : it is always a worry to book everything on internet from abroad, you never know what you will find. As for us, no bad surprise, that helped us having nice holidays !
We can strongly recommend Gordon and Corinne at Scottish Tourer to anyone considering hiring a motor home. The service we received from initial enquiry to returning the motor home at the end of our holiday was outstanding. It was as if we were dealing with friends so warm was the welcome and the friendly way in which all our enquiries, which were many as we were first timers, were dealt with. The attention to detail when introducing us to our home for the next 7 days was outstanding as was the provision of maps and advice on places of interest, camp sites or wild camping sites. Nothing was too much trouble and, because of the quality of the motorhome and equipment we did not need to, we were encouraged to contact Gordon and Corinne at any time should we have any problems. We had a fantastic holiday thanks to Scottish Tourers and Gordon and Corinne.
We enjoyed our holiday in Scotland very much. Your tips and suggestions at the beginning of the trip were really helpful. We used a few of your wild camping spots en even found a few on our own. Clearly you are camping enthusiasts and it is very nice that you share your experiences with routes, camping sites etc. Your service and personal touch really make a difference!
Ailsa and I had a brilliant time on our motorhome trip. This was due to many factors but primarily the quality of the motorhome and the excellent advice offered by Gordon and Corinne on where to stay, what to see, and the day to day use of the motorhome.
We cannot recommend highly enough the great feeling of being able to stop whenever and wherever you like (within reason!). All in all we had a great holiday with many great memories to look back on.
I would like to thank you for making our holiday in Scotland a place to remember, the motorhome we hired from you was excellent nice and clean and everything tip top, even the warm welcome and farewell. We will be back not next year probably 2014.But count on us we will once again thank you and keep up the good work.
Our first motorhome experience - and it certainly won't be our last. Gordon and Corinne were so helpful, going far beyond anything expected in terms of customer care. We really got the feeling that this is a labour of love as well as a business. Our van was brand new, immaculate and well equipped - even down to the bottle opener! Highly recommended.
Thanks for the help and advice prior to using your motorhome. It was a great holiday with the kids and something I we all agreed would love to do again as it was so varied and to top it off we got good weather for the whole week away. Saw so many places around west coast of Scotland from Arisaig to Skye, then up to Ullapool and Cromarty Firth area and then back down to Oban.
One of two places stuck out and both were recommended by yourself and that was up in Arisaig, we stayed two nights as we enjoyed ourselves and the area so much and the second was the wild camping up at Applecross. I did not think the road was so bad but I must of as I did not look forward to coming back down the next day. The kids loved playing on the beach right on the doorstep of the campervan.
The campervan was good and once I got used to the width it was great and drove easily even up the climb to Applecross. It had all the stuff we need for our trip.
The main thing is the kids are still talking about their summer holiday and I'm really glad I got the cancellation and it was a superb holiday.
Just a note to say thanks for the warm welcome and support for what was a very enjoyable motorhome holiday experience; we would recommend it and maybe take two weeks next time.
We came to Scotland for the first time and was a fantastic experience.
The decision to lease the camper was apt because we potuto apprezzare the beauty of nature and tranquility to have everything on hand always. Upon our arrival at the airport we found a very nice person who has accompanied us in Perth.
To expect Gordon and Corinne, two wonderful people, that after having finished the paperwork for the rental, even though it was late and little experience of driving on the left, which helped us to settle for the first night.
We immediately liked the the convenience of our campers very equipped and equipped with all amenities.
We traveled for ten days by visiting beautiful landscapes and beautiful cities.
Although the weather was not very favorable for our holiday in caravan was a great experience and will bring us the heart a beautiful memory of Scotland.
I did some web research to decide who to book a motor home with, the customer feedback on the Scottish Tourer web site speaks for itself.
From start to finish, I spent a magic two weeks in a brand new motor home, touring around the outer hebrides and west coast of Scotland.
It was my first time in a motor home, but it won't be my last, mostly due to the excellent service provided by Gordon and Corrine.
Once I was shown around the basics, it was great to know that Gordon or Corrine were available if I needed more info, which was very rare.
The list of wild camping spots was extremely useful.
I really missed not being in the motor home, when my two weeks were up
Overall, a first class service !!
My family thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, our first time in a motor home.
We really appreciated the "Wild Sites" information it is very handy, it allowed us to plan where to go.
Even though the sun did not shine for us we will be back next year.
We (all six of us) enjoyed the six berth Motorhome. What made it so special was the fact that the vehicle was new and squeaky clean. Then of course the excellent guide details you provided, which enabled us to see the best bits of the West of Scotland. Though they had been touring most of Europe by train and plane for over a month, our Borneo relatives agreed that touring Scotland in the motorhome was the best by far.
We had a great time and as first time users of any sort of camper or caravan we were very pleasantly surprised on numerous levels by our experience. My wife would be the first to say that she doesn't do "difficult or second rate". Scottishtourer was neither of these. The standard of tourer, it's equipment, cleanliness, facilities and attention to detail was exceptional. From my point of view it was an easy and comfortable vehicle to drive which combined made the whole trip a real joy. You have a great product available and with the stunning beauty of Scotland you deserve continued success.
We had driven the Sundance 2 Berth Super Luxury for the last week of June, and had a wonderful time. Gordon and Corinne were like family. They came to pick us up to Prestwick at 1100pm with the Motorhome and left us on a nice site nearby by the sea, for our first night of "wild camping" The vehicle was super clean and in mint condition, and their advice for our route was perfect. We got the best weather at the time, beautiful country, and great places to camp and eat.
We just wanted to drop you a line to say we had a fantastic holiday when we hired one of your motorhomes. The standard and quality of the vehicle was first class and absolutely spotless. The information and guidance you provided, even before our holiday, was brilliant and extremely helpful and made our trip so worthwhile. This was our first experience of using a motorhome and we will definately be back and would recommend your services to anyone who wants a complete experience in motorhoming.
Thank you so much for making our holiday so worthwhile.
We had an absolutely fab time in one of your vans and in Scotland. I wanted to do something different this year and boy was this different.
The west coast if Scotland is the most beautiful place I've ever been too. A Scottish person at work was horrified is picked it as my holiday destination. We had great weather, even donned shorts and t-shirt!
Your advice at all times was totally spot on. Even when we text mid week for ideas or suggestions of where to camp you came back quickly. The van was immaculately clean. The only issues we had were with a couple of broken bits which were due to the previous renter not informing you. You tried your hardest to fix this before we departed. The van had everything we needed.
I personally think you should put together some routes for people to follow as you know the best places to go. My favourite place was loch maree. It was stunning. My best photos are from there and also the campsite on the beach south of the isle of skye.
Another recommendation was the seafood shack. Amazing.
Good luck with your future renting.
This was the first time we had hired a motorhome and were a little unsure about quite what to expect. However, the whole experience was great, from our first enquiry right up to handing the vehicle back. During the booking process Gordon was helpful and quick to respond to any queries.
When we drove away we were a little apprehensive as it was a six berth motorhome and a somewhat bigger vehicle than we are used to driving! However, it was very easy to drive with an excellent and comfortable driving position and we soon got used to its size. The motorhome was extremely well equipped, with everything you would want for a touring holiday. We hired the vehicle for five days and did over 500 miles of very easy driving, seeing some beautiful countryside and camping in some really wild places.
We had a really good time. The motorhome itself was excellent, brand new, fully equipped and had everything we needed and more.
Thanks for all the advice, information and guidance.
we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Scotland in the motorhome. We have visited Scotland before but in the tourer it gave us the opportunity of 'roaming free' - and visiting areas we would not previously have reached. The whole experience was perfect - right from the time we picked up the motorhome.
Thanks for your help with thorough instructions before we left and ideas of places to stay - it was great to see you at Sunnyside - one of your suggestions. We have definately got the motorhome bug and will most likely see you again some time.
we had a fantastic time. Our pick up was on-time from edinburgh city and it was lovely to meet you both. After the paper work was completed, you gave us an excellent over-view of the motorhome, which was brand new and excellent condition. The time taken to show us around definitely put our minds at easy considering the size of it and it was very helpful to leave some of our over-sized bags in your house.
The motorhome did not disappoint! The campsite list you provided was very accurate but still gave us the opportunity to roam.
On our return, you were very accommodating regarding our changed flights and getting us to the airport a few hours early.
We would definitely come back again.thanks for everything.
What a fantastic break we had, it was our first 'venture' in a Motor Home and now we are absolutely hooked. Before booking I asked the question, 'Why should I pay more from Scottish Tourer than one of the competitors close by'...stupid question, it is quite apparent why, the standard of the Motorhome is simply superb, brand new with 1500 miles on the clock, immaculate inside and out, everything working as it should and all the extras on the Motorhome make it an even more enjoyable experience. My Kids, 10,7,6 just loved it and are already asking when we can do it again! Your (Gordon / Corrine) hospitality is fantastic, handover of the Motorhome was very detailed and thorough which certainly gives confidence before you set off!
We were based at Drum Mhor Campsite in Edinburgh and the motorhome was the envy of everyone even experienced Motorhomers!
I simply would not go anywhere else, and we will certainly be back.
We were delighted with the friendly and exceptionally high standard of service provided by both of you, from booking the right Motorhome for our holiday, pre information prior to our trip, suggestions on where to stay, places to visit, our trip around the Western Isles was a great and our and first experience with a Motorhome holiday very enjoyable. The Motorhome itself was excellent, fully equipped and had everything we needed and more. Thanks for all the advice and guidance on the how to use the Van and watchout (tips) with the van it made everything so much easier and enjoyable. Nothing was any trouble you were on the end of the phone to assist with any questions or queries. Your support and service made it an excellent experience and would recommend this holiday to anyone. Thanks for everything and looking forward to our next trip.
This was our first experience of hiring a motorhome and didn't know quite what to expect. From the outset Corinne and Gordon were fantastic to deal with, carefully explaining everything to us and putting our minds at ease. Driving away in the brand new and immaculate motorhome was nerve racking at first, but it turned out to be an easy drive. Gordon provided some great tips to keep us safe and accident free.
We found the motorhome to be very well equipped, everything worked as it should and it was very comfortable. We hired 'our' motorhome for three nights and travelled from Perth to Loch Venachar in the Trossachs where we 'wild camped' and then travelled to the north shore of Loch Leven by Glen Coe again 'wild camping'. This is a fantastic spot, but Gordon and Corrine will be happy to recommend hundreds of others throughout Scotland. Our third night was spent at Loch Rannoch, before reluctantly returning to Perth.
We've camped in a tent and done some caravanning, the motorhome experience is completely different and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If there was something negative to say, or something that others may find unappealing, we would say it here. The service provided by Gordon and Corinne was brilliant, the motorhome was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed our short break. We had a great time, we'll do it again for sure and wholeheartedly recommend Gordon and Corinne to anyone considering hiring a motorhome. There was something negative, we should have hired the motorhome for longer!
Well done Gordon and Corinne, we know that you work very hard to provide this level of service and we wish to thank you for our very enjoyable, relaxing and trouble free short break.
We thought the service provided by Scottish Tourers was excellent. In addition to the paperwork being efficient and succinct; the terms and conditions of hire were clear; the motorhomes were immaculate and very well equipped; time was taken to brief us properly when we took over the vans; and the company was available to offer advice on technical and camping issues during the whole of the holiday. A very nice touch was the issue of a wild camping guide together with direct map links to scores of sites. Above all else both Corrine and Gordon were enthusiastic about camping and we felt well supported and valued as customers during the whole period of the hire.
5* Luxury with 5*+ Service...
If reading this you will have already found your way to the Scottish Tourer website and will be thinking seriously about a trip in a Motorhome somewhere in Scotland.
Well, we can assure you that this is the right place to be...
Whether experienced 'campers' or thinking of plunging into such an adventure you will not find better service (or better value) anywhere. With a fleet of brand new (and absolutely immaculate units) available from a couple who offer full support in a very professional (but very friendly) manner you are about to embark upon a trip of a lifetime. Choose to 'wildcamp' in a glorious spot of your choosing or select from a wealth of more organised facilities available throughout Scotland and your Scottish Tourer unit will be a real home from home everyday and each very comfortable night. With the 'extras' included and the unit specifications offered by Gordon & Corrine there is no need to want for anything whilst enjoying your self contained 'home'.
Easy to handle, easy to use - even for the novice 'camper' - complemented by a service (second to none) even the uninitiated can relax with every peace of mind afforded by the knowledge that expert help & sound advice is there simply for the asking.
We loved our Highlands tour and WILL be booking again without any doubt. This is not just any Motorhome Rental... this is a Scottish Tourer Motorhome Rental!
Can't recommend it highly enough!
Hi Corinne and Gordon,
Can hardly believe a week has passed since we returned the van to you.
We just wanted to say that we had the most fantastic week and many thanks to you both, and Sean for the wonderful service you gave us. It makes such a difference to know that you can totally rely on the service you are offered.
Thanks again, we'll definitely pass on your details to any one who is interested.
Despite the weather being a wee bit disappointing for April we really enjoyed our holiday. We really can't imagine a better way of seeing the magnificent scenery of the Highlands than by using one of your Motor homes. We stayed in some spectacular campsites with views of Lochs and snow-topped mountains. We took your advice on the best route around the west coast and it really was beautiful.
This was our first holiday in a Camper van and so I was slightly apprehensive when I saw how big the vehicle was! However, I soon got used to it and enjoyed the views from the elevated driving position. The Camper van was nearly brand new, in immaculate condition and fully equipped with everything you may need.
Throughout the whole hiring process Gordon was helpful and always quick to respond to any queries. We had a small problem with the TV/Aerial amplifier but a phone call to Gordon quickly resolved it. I would not hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer Motorhomes to anyone considering hiring a Camper van - we will definitely use them again if we decide to tour the Highlands again. (So much more to see & do!)
It was one of the best of our holiday weeks ever. My family got a motorhome from Corinne and Gordon, October 13-20th. It was our first motorhoming experience and we enjoyed it a lot! Even it was not a nice weather and we have used outside camping very little...
Motorhoming advantages we have found are as follows:
- my family was all together 24 hours like at home with enough amount of space,
- we found it fully equipped, it were only clothes we had to take from home,
- we were totally independent where to stay and where to go: we have used official camping site only once for to recharge our phone batteries,
- we were able to plan ahead our expenses very precisely and we fit it,
- we were surprised how smoothly car runs on the roads.
And exceptional - Gordon and Corinne were very helpful instructing us and ready to help us 24 hours.
Finally, for everybody: Scotland is outstanding land! Go there, it worth every pens.
We were very pleased with the service offered by Scottish Tourer Motorhomes. Booking and collection were made easy, and this being out first Motorhome rental we were a bit skeptic. But everything was well taken care of by Gordon & Corinne, so that we set off for 6 very pleasant days with the kids to the West Coast. The Motorhome was in excellent condition well equipped and everything was explained to us in detail up front. We enjoyed the experience so much we are already thinking of our next trip, and would definitely go back to Scottish Tourer, as well as recommend them to anyone who is on the look out for a Motorhome rental in Scotland.
We really enjoyed our holiday in Scotland in the motorhome. It was in a lovely clean condition and great working order. We appreciated the effort you went to in bringing the motorhome to Aberdeen and dropping us off after our holiday, showing us how to operate the motorhome and organising a babyseat for us. The advice you gave us on the route to take and places to stay lead us to see such beautiful areas of Scotland which were not listed in the guidebooks. You have always been so quickly responsive to our requests. We highly recommend your company.
We had a marvellous trip in the motorhome, so stress free and easy right from the first phone call to Gordon and Corrine. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they make everything so simple. It was easy to book, clear instructions and directions, they are genuinely happy to help and care very much that your holiday in one of their motorhomes will be perfect!
We have hired a motorhome before from a company where no-one (The Staff) actually used the motorhome - various members of staff 'readied' the van for our trip and it was a disaster!
Not so this time!! The brilliant bonus of using Scottish Tourer is that you deal with Corrine or Gordon - not countless members of staff who you never see, its a very personal service and as they are so hands on they know everything about each individual van and have kitted it out just as it needs to be. As regular motorhome campers themselves they are experts on how to get the best out of your motorhome holiday - top tips and advice on everything from driving the van and packing it, right the way through to suggestions for great days out! It can be very nerve wracking and daunting booking something as important as a holiday through the internet, but we are delighted to say without reservation that you are in safe hands with Scottish Tourer! The website has great photographs and what you see is what you will actually get - no tricks or gimmicks and you will not be disappointed when you see your van!
Patient and helpful and only ever a phone call away - beautiful vans that are clean and new - we slept so well and I even plucked up the courage to do a little driving, which I reckon I handled pretty well!!
Cannot wait to see your new motorhome fleet for next year - we will be calling again!!
Dear Gordon & Corinne - as you know we had a great time - with much due to your helpfulness. Here are the phrases that I would use to reflect on our expereince - please feel free to us them.
Couldn't have been more helpful
Friendly and enthusiastic in sharing their wealth of knowledge to help us plan routes.
Great attention to detail
Thoroughly committed to customer satisfaction
We will definitely book with them again
Made our first experience easy and smooth & helped us decide what to do and used their experience to help us avoid difficulties They seemed to have thought of everything for us then left us alone to enjoy ourselves
Just wanted to say thanks for all your help - we enjoyed our first ever trip in an extremely well appointed and immaculately clean campervan. Although everything seemed a little overwhelming at the start actually all instructions were well explained and in reality was easy once you started - including the driving!!
We toured the north and north west of Scotland in a Scottish Tourer motorhome (Oct 2011). The vehicle was simply first class, and Scottish Tourers were a pleasure to deal with. They were very understanding (indeed, empathic) regarding our circumstances (we have four young children) and couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will use their services again, and would not hesitate in recommending Scottish Tourers to others.
We had a wonderful holiday in Scotland this summer. It was our first vacation in a Motorhome, but certainly not the last.
For anyone who consider to hire a Motorhome, don't hesitate to contact Corinne and Gordon. From their company you get very good value for your money. Good service all the way from our first inquiry till we delivered the Motorhome after a fine trip around Scotland...
We spent a wonderful few days in August in "our" lovely motorhome. I've rented motorhomes previously from elsewhere, but was attracted to this hire company as the homes are really very new (a few weeks old in this case) and certainly felt hardly used. Upholstery and finishings, which can quickly show wear, were all lovely and new, and the matresses felt fresh and were really comfortable. We also loved that the vehicle was equipped for wild camping, so we never went near a campsite, and loved just stopping wherever took our fancy. No worries about running out of water or gas.
The weather was pretty poor while we were away, but the home's central heating worked wonderfully, and warmed (and cheered) us up when we got soaked! My children were delighted that it rained as we got to spend more time in the motorhome, playing games and watching the flat screen TV. We even got a signal in quite remote places - really odd to be in stunning Scottish peace and tranquility watching riots in London!
Gordon and Corrine took time to explain all the details of how the home and cab worked, and i knew they were only at the end of the phone if we had any queries, though we didn't need to ring.
We loved our trip and wouldn't hesitate to rent from Scottish Tourer again.
Many thanks for your excellent service and support in supplying us with a 7 berth motorhome for our family's first experience of such a holiday. The motorhome had every facility imagineable, was in tremendous condition being only weeks old and was more pleasant to drive than I had anticipated. I would have no hesitation in recommending your service to family and friends be they first timers like us or more experienced than we were. Once again many thanks.
Our motorhome experience with your company has been one of our best holidays ever! We spent a week exploring stunning scenery in the Highlands and the Isle of Skye and will definitely return. The motorhome itself was immaculate and like a "home from home", with everything you could possible need and more. Our children enjoyed the freedom that only this type of holiday can provide, wildcamping by beautiful lakes, barbecuing in forests, exploring rockpools, climbing mountains and much much more! This was our first experience in a motorhome and we would certailnly recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone who has a motorhome dream like ourselves. Gordon and Corrrine ensure that the Motorhomes are immaculate and are always at the other end of the phone if you have a query however small. They also provide a personal service and have a special knowledge of the best routes to take. Thank you for helping create special holiday memories that we will treasure for many years to come.
Our holiday in Scotland was just fantastic. We have been so lucky to find the most reliable and professional tourer company for our holiday.
As our very first experience with a motorhome, we wanted to make sure all was very well prepared and perfectly explained, knowing that we had to carry our young daughters on this trip.
Our holiday will remain a wonderful memory for us regarding the quality and the maintenance of the camping-van we booked by internet. All the booking process was very convenient and perfectly led by Gordon from the moment we show our interest in this type of holiday. We have been received by Gordon and Corrine in person at their home, and their welcome was just unbelievable. We could not expect such cheerful welcome in Perth, prior to our presentation of the van and all the details of our journey.
For our family, couple with two kids ( 4 and 5 year old daughters), this van was very well fitted. All the major tasks to be kept in mind was very simple to handle, such as tanks replenishment and security measures while driving. Personally I was feeling a bit nervous before the explanations, but Gordon described all so simply and accurately that we could leave without a single concern about the coming week, alone in Scotland.
As well as good addresses not to miss out along the trip, like good seafood restaurant, the itinerary left by Gordon and Corrine has been very helpful for us to discover all the beauty hidden in Scotland. At no moment we felt isolated knowing the full availability of Gordon or Corinne, in any occasion and for any kind of question we could have had during the tour.
Our one week holiday, with six rainy days, was just great and we do recommend Scottish Tourer as the very first experience with motor-home to drive through this magic land.
We hope some day, to have the occasion once more to visit Scotland, for sure with Scottish Tourer. We wish all the people interested in having this kind of experiment to point Gordon and Corrine's site first, to ensure the quality and the comfort of a wonderful van to enjoy Scotland sightseeing tour.
Thankyou for our fantastic holiday. Your friendly service made the world of difference to us, knowing that you were on the end of the phone when there were any problems was so reassuring and when we did phone you solved the problem immediately.
You seem to know Scotland like the back of your hand and the recommendations to itinery were very much apprieciated, although sadly we did not have enough time to reach them all.
We will definately be back to finish the trip!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer to anybody, this is more than hiring a spotless motorhome but a genuinely personal and friendly service.
Thankyou again, i think you will meet my in-laws by the end of the year!
I spent hours trailing through the internet, not only looking for a good deal but also
To find a holiday firm that actually do care about your holiday experience and not just taking your money and leaving you to get on with it. I am sure there may be other good firms out there, but for me no one else came remotely close. Gordon and Corrine are 100% dedicated to ensuring that you will have a happy and carefree holiday. The motorhome itself was a late model modern, very easy to drive and the functions easy to operate both in and outside. The motorhome was also immaculately clean. This was my first holiday in a motorhome and it could not have gone any smoother for me.
Scottishtourer include every item you could need at no extra cost! Check the list of items included on the scottishtourer website against any other company! Gordon and Corrine are a nice friendly couple always at the end of the phone for any questions or help you may need while you out and about anything from directions to places to see and things to do, I loved the wild camping element of my holiday, not once having to stay on a paying campsite squashed in with lots of other campers, this was thanks to their wide knowledge of wild camping spots scattered around the highlands. I also found a couple of great camp spots myself around Wester Ross, The Isle of Skye and Glen Nevis are a must see ! So if your thinking of booking with scottishtourer look no further! And finally many thanks Gordon and Corrine for a fantastic carefree holiday.
What said it all at the end of the holiday was my partner Jane wishing we could have had the Motorhome for another week. We all enjoyed the freedom to stop where we wanted when we wanted and found some idyllic places to park in often complete isolation, with only the sound of water and birds to disturb us. The Motorhome was in spotless condition when we got it, performed perfectly on steep hills and winding single track roads and was surprisingly easy to get on and off the three ferries we used. We are already planning to do it again in a couple of years time. Thank you for making our holiday one of the best this family has ever had.
We found Scottish Tourers on the internet having looked at numerous other motorhome hire companies. We selected it on the basis of its location, testimonials and it being a smaller, more personal company. What a good call. The van was perfect, Gordon and Corinne were really friendly and provided lots of useful advice/tips to make our holiday a great success (despite some occasional wet weather). It was our first proper visit to Scotland and this was a great way of exploring it. Only downside was that one week was not enough! I would not hesitate in using them again or recommending them to friends or family.
First of all, thanks for the great time we had with you both and the two weeks we spend in your lovely motorhome. We enjoined the luxury of it and loved all the wild camp places where we spend the night. Also thanks a lot for your assistance when we had a flat tire and with the faulty charger. And not to mention the help when I 'touched' the mirror of a Land Rover Discovery at the third day. It helps a lot when the owner of the motorhome (you) stays friendly and joyful!
But even with the small problems we enjoyed every minute! We hope to come back next year and continue our search for beautiful wild camp places, castles and (most important) whiskys!
So we look forward to meet you again next year. Thanks again for one of our best holidays ever!
This was our first trip in a motor-home, so were slightly anxious before we started the trip round Scotland. We shouldn't have been !
Gordon explained all of the exterior side of the motor home, while Corinne clarified any queries we had on the internal points . They could not have done more to help, nothing seemed to be a bother to them.
The motor home came fully equipped with everything required for a most enjoyable journey. As well as cooking facilities, there was a shower, a toilet, camp chairs and a table, a television, a DVD player, even a barbeque!
My wife was so taken with the whole week that we are determined to make this a regular part of our holidaying experience.
Gordon and Corrine are passionate about their business, they are lifelong camper van users themselves and know exactly what is required to provide an exceptional service. Their campers are all brand new, spotlessly clean and fully kitted with everything you need, bring your own food and wine of course!
Thanks for hospitality you made us feel so welcome. We really had a great week in Scotland, already given your no to a friend!! Your set up and equipment is second to none.
Michelle and I had a fantastic week touring Scotland. Both Gordon & Corinne were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The motorhome they supplied was new, very comfortable, and perfect for extended touring without the need to stop each day at a site to re-charge batteries etc. Great experience and highly recommended.
Your fantastically new motorhome was a great introduction to motorhoming and Scotlands' coast and highlands. All made the better by the fact the vehicles are up to date and immaculate. Then topped off by the friendly and attentive service from yourselves. And we've told everyone we know.
We have just returned from 10 days touring Scotland in one of Gordon and Corinne's wonderful Motorhomes, and what can we say that our 4 year old daughter has not already said (every day since we came home!)... "that was the best holiday ever". From the initial enquiry stage through to booking and then pick-up, Gordon was extremely helpful and prompt with his replies to our queries. On pick-up, Corinne was very thorough with the general information regarding the workings of the Motorhome. The Motorhome was immaculate and everything was in perfect working order. We spent a very comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable 10 days onboard with our 2 young children. We would not hesitate to recommend 'Scottish Tourer' and hopefully we will be using them again ourselves in the future.
We celebrated a 40 birthday with a surprise weekend and I had a lot of last minute organisation things to do. But we really enjoyed our holiday in your motorhome. The motorhome was brand new, well equiped and spacious enough for the 5 of us. The children didn't mind driving long distances because they were able to watch tv, read a book or make a drawing at the table. Besides the brand new motorhome we really appreciated your service. You were always available to answer our questions we had before and during our holiday. We chose Scottish Tourer because you gave value for money. A one price all inclusive packet, no extras so we knew what to expect. I'm sure when we want to hire a motorhome again we will definitely go back to Scottish Tourer.
Wanting to do something a little different for my three young children and have my elderly parents with us, I found Gordon and Connie and their 7 birth 707 Motorhome. Coming from Singapore, my family had never seen anything like this. When collected from the Airport by Gordon we were 'blown-away' with the Motorhome, looking Brand Spanking New, gleaming in the car park. Gordon took us back to his place for induction showing us the fully equiped Motorhome with crockery, bedding, picnic table and chairs, etc, even down to washing-up cloths and tea towels. We loaded up and off we went into the Highlands of Scotland. Being fully equipped for wild camping, the Motorhome easily managed to keep all seven of us snug when is chilly, full when we were hungry and clean when we were grubby. Although the Motor home was large it was a joy to drive coped with anything the Scottish roads could throw at us.
Thank you for making our holiday special and I hope all the different people who approached us to admire your Motorhome give you lots of future business.
We had an absolutely fantastic holiday in the motorhome. It was so clean and well equipped, and more spacious than we anticipated. The children all had the time of their lives and I'm sure we'll be back for another hire soon.
After looking at the many websites offering motorhomes for hire, we picked scottishtourer and this turned out to be a great choice. Within 15 minutes of emailing our request, Gordon was on the phone giving us all the information we required. The price that was quoted included everything and there were no hidden extras like on some other websites. And when they said everything, they meant everything - maps, sat nav, every kind of phone charger connector, books of campsites, lists of wild camping spots, unlimited mileage (good for us as we did over 1000 miles in a week's mini tour of Scotland!). The motorhome that we hired was brand new and absolutely spotless. Gordon and Corinne were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the hire period. Always on the end of the phone if there was a problem, or just needed somewhere they could recommend, they just laughed when I told them I had forgotten to screw the water cap back on after filling up with freshwater, and was probably lying on a roadside somewhere on Harris. (tip - stick a sponge in the opening till you get back to Perth, worked a treat!) We would definitely choose scottishtourer again and have recommended them to all our friends.
This was our first motorhome holiday, and the whole family loved it. The boys especially appreciated the tv & dvd player to watch during the longer drives. I've never driven a motorhome before, but the 707 was great to drive. We only stopped at a couple of 'official' campsites, and spent the rest of the time wild-camping. Waking up next to a loch on a sunny morning is hard to beat! Gordon and Corinne really know their stuff and put us 'first timers' at ease with lots of helpful advice. Highly recommended.
Being motorhome novices, we were slightly nervous about driving and living in a motorhome for a week. Gordon and Corinne put us at our ease very quickly with their professionalism and clear knowledge, giving a great level of support from our first enquiry right through to the end of our holiday. Gordon and Corinne were absolutely great at showing us the ropes, helping us understand the features of the motorhome, and how to get the best from our holiday. The motorhome we hired was faultless, absolutely spotlessly clean and we had the most incredible holiday exploring the highlands. Gordon and Corinne were always on the end of the phone if we needed any help in finding somewhere to stay, or had any questions about the van. All information provided was comprehensive and accurate, all dealings with Gordon and Corinne have been straight-forward and we will most definitely be booking a motorhome through Scottish Tourers again. We would without hesitation recommend Scottish Tourer
Having recently enjoyed a holiday on the Western Scottish Highlands, we felt compelled to thank you both for all your help. We were first time 'Motorhomers' and really appreciated the very friendly and comprehensive overview of the motorhome, which ensured we knew exactly what to do! The motorhome was fantastic, spotless and clearly very well cared for, it catered for all our needs. On the occasions were we needed to call Scottish Tourers, the help we received was brilliant! We will definitely book again for another holiday!
We would all like to say a huge thank you to you both for helping us to have such a great holiday last week.
The Motor Home was excellent. Beautifully clean and containing everything we needed for our trip.
Information about the hire, instructions for collection and directions for pick up were all clear and comprehensive, and assisted in making our holiday totally hassle free.
Even better, your information and help with things like the wild camping and golf locations etc. was fabulous. You could not have been more supportive and I am certain we will see you at some time in the future for another holiday. We will be very happy to recommend you to anyone we know looking for a similar holiday.
Thanks again for being so superb - fabby, new motorhome and awesome backup - no matter what time of day or night.
You have been brilliant, and we have already recommended you to many friends and colleagues.
We will certainly use you when we go motorhoming again.
Just wish it was you running motorhome hire in Canada and Australia too - cos then we'd know everything would be fine.
From the moment I contacted Scottishtourer.co.uk both Gordon and Corrine were amazingly friendly and helpful, giving us a very good quote for our eight night hire. My partner Phil and I chose their company because of their clear passion for touring, flexibility and willingness to answer all my daft questions any time of the day or night! As complete Motorhome novices we were slightly clueless when we picked up our Cariocca 6-berther but Corrine and Gordon showed remarkable patience with us and expressed confidence that we would soon get to grips with it. They even suggested a route to make the most of our eight nights on the West Coast of Scotland. The motorhome was brand new (just a month old) and an amazing piece of equipment and, as predicted, within a couple of days it felt like home. We visited some of the wildest and most spectacular places either of us has ever seen - in comfort and luxury. Even our 21-month old daughter loved looking out the window at the dramatic landscapes and she slept beautifully in her bunk while we enjoyed the space and cosiness of the king-sized cabin up top. Gordon and Corrine were always available on the end of the phone in case we had any questions and their enthusiasm was infectious. In short we had a great holiday and this was due in no small part to Gordon and Corinne.
We are very satisfied, very nice reception and good service on hand over of the motor home, very good documentation, maps and GPS, They were very responsive in case of problems, 2 hours to get a tyre replacement on a Sunday in the country side is very good. The motor home itself was in a very good condition and very well prepared beds, towels ..., very good cooking place and surprisingly good oven.
We were delighted with the friendly and exceptional service provided by Corinne and yourself . Not only did we receive an excellent and well prepared new Motorhome, we were also given brilliant advice and loads of tips, This was our first time using a motorhome and we were given full instruction on its use and also phone numbers to call at any time if any problems should we have any queries or problems. This was all on the back of a great price! Many thanks once again.
We hired a brand new Carioca 7 berth motorhome with Scottish Tourer over Easter for a week to explore the Highlands. From the moment we made contact with Gordon and Corinne they couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming in helping us prepare for our holiday. They were always available to answer calls and emails as this was our first motorhome holiday.
The motorhome itself was fabulous with all the comforts of home and loads of extras. Before heading off on our own Gordon and Corinne patiently showed us how everything worked and reassured us enormously. Their advice and experience covered absolutely everything (even including BBQ tips)and ensured we set off with the confidence to enjoy our new home for the week. We had a fantastic week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All in all a great motorhome and a great price and with exceptional quality of service. We have only been home a week and are already planning our next holiday with Scottish Tourer!
This trip (10 nights around Scotland) was our first experience of motor homing but it certainly won't be our last. The motor home selected for our trip was a 5 berth brand new model which was fully equipped and immaculate inside and out. Gordon and Corinne were both very friendly and equally professional. Before we departed, they gave us great advise including invaluable tourist leaflets and maps and when we returned we enjoyed sharing stories of our travels over a cup of tea. We will certainly look forward to hiring from Gordon and Corinne again for our next adventure.
Thank you for all your help and advise during our first Motorhome holiday. Not having done this sort of thing before having good, sensible advise and a terrific van made it all undaunting. The motorhome itself was immaculate, very well kitted out and great to drive, the only dissapointed was that we get enough time to try out and use everything it had!! Will definately return for another trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer as your one stop shop for a motorhome holiday.
We are a retired couple thought we were going senile as we booked a Motorhome on the spur of the moment to tour west coast and Isle of Skye, this was our first time in a Motorhome, glad Corinne was very patient with us showing how everything worked, The vehicle was fairly new and in mint condition, We followed the route and stop over places they suggested... Totally fantastic... one of the free overnight parking places they has marked on the map was at the distillery in Skye overlooking a sea loch we enjoyed a dram of their produce in the evening watching the sun go down. We were so impressed 4 weeks later we bought our own Motorhome, and have since travelled to France, Spain, Portugal, we really appreciate the invaluable help from both of them in purchasing our own Motorhome that suited our needs as its opened up a whole new way of life to us. Many Many Thanks
We holiday in Scotland every few years, However we were disappointed the company we normally use were fully booked, we booked with Gordon & Corinne and were we glad we did, the 5 berth we had booked was not available and we were given a free upgrade to a six berth which was only a few weeks old (think we were first to use it), it come with every conceivable extra fitted they even threw in barbeque coals and fluid, we knew the route we wanted to travel but their help and knowledge of free spots with fantastic views made our holiday so much more enjoyable, Have booked with them again, roll on July.
We have done a very good trip in motorhome with our children. It was the first time with a vehicle like this. We have appreciated the quality of the motorhome. Very well equipped, clean, for a good price. Gordon and Corinne are very pleasant and nice, they gave us good advices and they was very helpful. I Trust them and I recommend them.
We would highly recommend renting from Gordon & Corinne after the personal and professional experience we enjoyed during our one-week holiday in Scotland. The caravan was in perfect condition, well equipped and performed flawlessly throughout our holiday. Set-up and operation was intuitive and the personalized pick-up and drop-off service in Perth made the whole experience so much easier.
We are so glad we booked our motorhome with you. The whole booking and return of the vehicle was seamless and we appreciate how you offered help with useful advise and destination tips. The motorhome itself was spotlessly clean and very comfy. It was fantastic how you had thought of providing just about everything we needed to make it an easy trip. We'll definitely be telling friends! Thank you so much!
Just to say what a great holiday we had, The Motorhome was excellent and your help with our holiday was much appreciated, We will defiantly recommend you to our friends and family.
The camper was fantastic, perfect for our trip, the only comment, could do with some 12volt insect repellers, and a generator that's just a tiny bit smaller top fit in when under way.
These were four really nice guys up in Scotland for a mountain bike holiday who returned the Motorhome in immaculate and clean condition, An insect repeller has no effect on the Scottish midge and these guys were in the Ben Nevis area where the midge is most common, However we are now going to supply citronella sticks for customers heading to that area during the midge season. The best way is to keep the fly screens all closed so they cant get in the Motorhome.
The generator would normally fit in the garage compartment under the bunk beds but with all the gear needed for these mountain bikers this was not possible also the generator needs to be big enough to drive the air con system when wild camping.
This was the first time we had tried a motorhome holiday. We had a fantastic time. Travelling with two youngsters we were able to stop and go as we pleased, travelling at our pace. The kids loved the adventure and still talk about "our motorhome". One thing we really enjoyed using was the awning. (Most companies don't fit awnings on rental vehicles, they are willing to trust us with a motorhome but not a wind out awning?) Combine this with the table, chairs and BBQ, and we found that if we did visit a campsite we quickly made friends!
