Oct 2013 - Iain & Anne,Glasgow, Scotland

Thanks once again for your great service, to say a returning customer must be a satisfied one speaks for itself.

Anne says the 5 days just flew by, we had a great time, and once again were very lucky with the weather.

Hope you enjoy your touring and hopefully we will be in contact with you sometime next year to continue our motorhome experiences.

Oct 2013 - Jim & Margaret from Aberdeen, Scotland

We had a brilliant week and we'll certainly be doing it again! The Motorhome was fantastic and lived up to all our expectations and although this was our first time in a Motorhome, the comprehensive handover that we got from Corinne and yourself when we picked it up meant that we took to the whole thing like seasoned pros! Thanks very much for that.

We 'Wild Camped' for four of the seven nights we were away and that was a fantastic experience; I've attached a couple of photos of our two favourites; the 'Fairy Pools' at Glen Brittle on Skye and a really nice spot just south of Ullapool about a mile from the Braemore Junction on the A832. Whilst the ability to 'Wild Camp' was brilliant it was also really great to be able to just stop at a nice spot and have something to eat or just have a cuppa and admire the view.

I've attached a 'panoramic' view that we took when we stopped opposite Raasay on the way to Ullapool and another shot overlooking Loch Kishorn.
All in all a fantastic week and we hope to see you again next year... thanks again!

Sep 2013 - Andrea Aquilina & Family from Malta

Scottish Tourer offers a excellent service which I doubt is offered by any other motorhome rental company in Scotland. From the first time we made contact with Gordon and Corinne we realised that they were a genuine company always willing to help and offering a personalised service. They have extensive experience with motorhomes and they helped up plan our holiday to the last detail. We (2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 11) hired a motorhome for 11 days in September and we had a great time thanks to the tips offered by Gordon and Corinne. We were able to experience wild camping in several exclusive and dream locations which we wouldn't have tried unless we had received their advice. The motorhome was spotless and almost new as advertised on their website. This was one of the holidays we will continue to remember. We have been recommending Scottish Tourer to all our friends and family and we highly recommend them to anyone who is considering a motorhome holiday in Scotland.

Sep 2013 - David & Tracey, Gloucester, England

This holiday was my husband's choice for a 30th wedding anniversary. When he said a motorhome holiday, my immediate thought was across America. He then said Scotland and I felt a little deflated, but I shouldn't have been. We had the best time.
We search on line and found Scottish Tourer. Thank heavens for technology. it was so easy to book and Gordon and Connie were always on hand to ask those important questions. The motor home was just perfect but as we hadn't done before so were a little apprehensive.
Gordon and Connie made everything so simple when explaining what we had to do and were so helpful when deciding where to go. the motor home has been used all through the Summer but it was just like a brand new. Their help made sure the holiday was relaxing and stimulating as the same time.
Wild camping is the best option when seeing Scotland, we had 8 days travelling around the North West of Scotland. Such beautiful scenery and the motorhome was really easy to drive, so easy that you can be inclined to travel too far. my advice is to not be too adventurous when deciding how far you want to go. give yourself time to experience the atmosphere and wild camp as much as possible. the motor home allows you be free to stop wherever you want and gives you the luxury of all your own facilities without the pressure of needing to find the next campsite.
we will definitely do this again but with the knowledge that we can take a slower pace. there would be no other option for us than booking again with Scottish Tourer's. Our best place to stay was most definitely the Cairngorms. Stunning scenery when you stay at the top, peace and quiet by the lake if you stop at the lower level.
All we can say is thank you so much for helping to make this 30th anniversary celebration the best experience ever.
Thank you Gordon and Connie.

Sep 2013 - The Christie Family, Carnoustie, Scotland

We had talked about a motor-home for quite a while but never got round to it, however earlier this year we decided we would give it a try and through the website chose scottish tourer. From the initial contact when we turned up without an appointment there was no problems as Corrine & Gordon took time to show us there motor- homes. We finally decided to hire an escape 664 for 4 days as an initial trial and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the motor-home. Gordons advice on wild campsites and his information on the sat-nav was greatly appreciated. We had no hesitation in booking one for next year.

Aug 2013 - Party of 4 from Malaysia and USA

The quality of the motor home fittings, and the recommendations on wild campsites, routes, restaurants and just about everything  Gordon and Corinne suggested made this vacation very special.  The weather was poor throughout the trip but all their offerings made up for it.  We have had campervan holidays in Australia and New Zealand but Scottishtourer is a class of its own. On the second day of our trip the 664 that we hired had a clutch problem, Gordon and Corinne came to our rescue within a few hours and replaced the camper with a superlux model at no extra cost. Thanks again for making our time in Scotland unforgettable.

Aug 2013 - The Ingremeau Family, Bollène, France

For one year, we decided to travel in Scotland with my son, his wife and our two grandchildren. Our aim was in particular to discover Islay but also the Trossachs, Oban and finally Edinburgh. Just a week before our arrival, the motorhome we booked to Gordon was in an accident and no more available... Fortunately Gordon founded a solution and save our holidays ! Scotland is a very beautyfull country with a preserved nature, and we have been filled with enthusiasm by contact with scottish people. We had a warm welcome everywhere during this trip, the behaviour of scotish drivers is remarkable and far from what we know in France...
Most of all, we do appreciate the relationship, the advices and the welcome from Gordon and Corinne. They were very kind and very thoughtful with us, before during and after our trip. A thing is certain : one can count on Scottish Tourer's company to succeed in having good time in Scotland!

Aug 2013 - The Strauch Family, Czech Republic

Our journey back to Czech republic was good (without delay our fly :-)). It was our first experience with Motorhome and we were happy. Our son loved traveling with Motorhome too.

Aug 2013 - Sam & Beatrice, Belguim

We were 4 families, each booking a campervan with Scottish Tourer, for a 10-day tour of Schotland (summer of 2013). When we arrived in Perth for the pickup of the vans, we were received with real warmth and professionalism. The campervans where brand new, totally immaculate and the linens even matched the design of the furniture. Gordon and Corinne went to huge extent to make our trip as enjoyable and interesting as possible, even going over the whole route we planned, correcting where needed or handing out extra tips. The vans contained checklists before 'take-off' or in case of a breakdown and extensive information about things to visit. When after the trip, it appeared I'd forgotten something in the van, they posted it without hesitation back to me. We had a wonderful trip, and their professionalism played a huge part in it. We would recommend Scottish Tourer without hesitation.

Aug 2013 - Mr & Mrs P, Blairgowrie, Scotland

When my wife suffered a stroke in 2009 we thought our holidays were over, that was until I found Scottish Tourer Perth only 12miles from my house, what I was looking for was a motorhome that I could manage by myself and that's what I found.
Fixed bed, toilet, shower, kitchen, sat nav rearview camera, ample storage all together in a NEW motorhome. From paying the deposit to returning the motorhome Gordon and Corinne were there for me at the end of mobile or e-mail. Although we only travelled to the Moray Coast it was a holiday to remember with lovely weather and stunning views. When people asked me if I enjoyed it and would recommend it, I just tell them well I have booked it again for next year that speaks for itself. Many Thanks to Gordon and Corinne.

Aug 2013 - Nicki & Les Atkinson, Herts, England

Back home again after a splendid few days playing golf in Fife! Our holiday in the motor homes with the Burgess' will stay as a super memory with us, until the next time!! We cannot thank you both enough for the friendly and helpful way you run your business. We found everything as we had hoped it would be in the motor home itself and your advice on wild camping and things to do very useful indeed. We wish you continued success with your company and will not hesitate to recommend you to everyone who is interested in touring in a motor home.

Aug 2013 - The Provenchere Family, Marseille, France

We are a couple with 2 children aged 10 and 7, coming from the south of France. We wanted to visit Scotland in motorhome to benefit as much as possible of wild nature, beautiful landscapes, and close exchanges with Scots in small villages. And, with Scottish Tourer, we got exactly what we came for. We hired a Swift Escape 664 motorhome, fitted with 4 berth for 15 days in July/August. Size of this motorhome is a good balance between easy driving and sufficient comfort. Corinne and Gordon have fitted this motorhome with all necessary equipments (awning, BBQ, 4 chairs and table, ..). No extra cost is charged, or missing equipment. We also hired bedding and towel pack, and Corinne doubled the number of towels as we hired the motorhome two weeks. Little attention, highly appreciated. Cherry on the cake : GPS with wild camps list. Very helpful to find a place for dinner and night, mostly in incredible wild places, in the middle of nowhere, except trees, lochs, rocks, squirrels, birds, ... What about Scotland: just perfect. Nice people, beautiful castles, amazing landscapes, good fish and chips, and beers, and last but not least, nice bagpipes music, reassuring atmosphere. This trip was a fantastic experience, and Gordon and Corinne have contributed to this with the Premium service provided by Scottish Tourer.

Aug 2013 - The McDougalls, Brisbane, Australia

Back in Australia now, thanks for all your help with the motorhome.
Could not fault the service from Scottish Tourer, excellent all round. Airport transfers were seamless. Motorhome was almost brand new and drove like a dream. We had the larger version with over-cabin double bed because the smaller ones were booked out. Next time we would wait for the smaller version with double bed at the back, it is better suited for two people. Your directions and tips on the best way to spend our time worked perfectly and we followed the directions almost to the letter. One of the highlights was the visit to Oban, the home of the McDougall clan where we visited two of the clan castles and happened to meet the clan chief. Our preference was for paid parks rather than wild camping, but many of the parks were the basic campgrounds for a £10 fee, this worked perfectly for us. They were all clean and friendly with lots of other travellers to talk to. Here are just a few pics of what was a memorable holiday in Scotland. Thanks again.

Aug 2013 - Ged & Marian from Telford, England

This was our first visit to the Highlands and our first experience of a holiday in a motorhome . The two just went together so well. Gordon and Corrine were helpful from the onset, answering any questions we had promptly, and supplying us with really helpful information regarding possible routes and places of interest to visit during our 9 day trip in July. The motorhome we hired was the Bessacar - it was fabulous, well equipped and for the two of us had a good amount of space. Corrine and Gordon provided us with a lovely welcome pack of goodies. It's those little touches that make you feel so cared for. A special mention must go to the bed. It was oh so comfortable! As someone who suffers with a bad back this was much appreciated. We covered 900 miles over the 9 days, most of the time wild camping in places recommended by Gordon and Corrine. Wow it was lovely to wake up each morning at a different spot, opening the blinds to look out on fantastic loch and/or mountain views. The motorhome gave us the total freedom to go where we wanted at the times we wanted. No matter how remote the places we went to we did not have to worry about getting back for meals and accommodation etc we could simply stay there!! It was lovely to know that Gordon and Corrine were always in the background and were happy to be contacted if we needed them. It is clear that they know all the intricacies of each of their motorhomes very well - so when we needed to ring them with a query they were able to help us straight away. Gordon and Corrine offer a personalised and bespoke service so that their clients get the holiday they want. We have no hesitation in recommending ScottishTourer for people looking for a quality motorhome holiday.

Aug 2013 - Rick & Family, Cardross, Scotland

We hired a 6 berth Swift 696 for a week in August 2013. The motorhome we got was brand new and everything was clean and in perfect condition. It was our first time in a motorhome and Gordon and Corinne, real motorhome enthusiasts, took the time to explain how everything worked and provided us with lots of helpful information for our trip. I would strongly recommend Scottish Tourer to everyone that is planning to hire a motorhome.

Aug 2013 - Frank and Christiane, Grimsby, England

This was our second year that we hired a motor home from you and once again cannot fault the motor home you gave us very clean and reliable. We really enjoyed our holiday in Scotland and would not hesitate to hire from you again, customer satisfaction 101%. Thank you and please keep up the good work.

Jul 2013 - Louise Laidlaw & Family, Perth, Scotland

From our initial enquiry about hiring a motorhome the whole process was very smooth and a pleasure to deal with Gordon and Corrine.
We collected the motorhome on the Saturday and we were on our way just after lunchtime taking on board all the helpful tips we received. The motorhome was spotless and a pleasure to drive (my husband assured me) and we were delighted with the space in the motorhome and more importantly that it had a decent sized fridge!
Travelling around Scotland and staying in some gorgeous places I would recommend this to everyone... really good fun (our 5 year old loved it) and made even easier with helpful owners.

Jul 2013 - The Seaton Family, Blairgowrie, Scotland

A family wedding on a remote Scottish Island with limited accommodation encouraged us to a look at hiring a motorhome to travel and stay there. We are not big on camping so weren't sure how it would turn out. It was great. The motorhome was immaculate and very well kitted out, it had everything we needed for our holiday with our two 'young adult' children, including a big fridge. The beds were comfortable, we had enough space and the facilities worked just fine. A highlight for me was the ability to crack open the celebratory champagne while travelling in comfort through the Scottish highlands, occasionally playing cards with the children as my husband was chief driver! The island was a little bit wet and windy (as expected) so heating was a bonus and as we were 'wild camping' the on board power supply was well used, as was the DVD player. Corrine and Gordon were great from start to finish and the whole process was really easy. If you are looking for a holiday with a difference then look no further.

Jun 2013 - The Mannerlof Family, Sweeden

We found out about the Scottish tourer on the net and we got an answer on our request mail very soon and then had a good contact all the time until our Scotland trip. We got some route suggestions and wild camping spots on the mail so we could plan our trip. We were picked up at the Edinburgh airport and taken to Perth. Got a very good description of the motor home and even more suggestions of nice spots in Scotland. We had to call Gordon and Corinne a couple of times during our trip and they were always very helpful and nice. If we will rent a motorhome in Scotland again we would definitely contact Scottishtourer again. We will recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone renting a motorhome in Scotland. Thank you Gordon and Corinne for taking such good care of us.

Jun 2013 - Graham & Claire, Buxton, England

We always said that one day we would do a Motorhome road trip, then one day we watched the cartoon UP; and that was it, do it now before it's to late.Having looked at other hire company's we decided on Scottish Tourer mostly on the comments of the  quality of service you get,and we weren't disappointed.

Gordon & Corinne gave lots of advice on what to see and possible routes to take, we went out to the Arisaig area and then over to Skye by Ferry from Mallaig, and back across to the Black Isle to the Moray Firth. (Watching Dolphins before breakfast It can't get any better than that).

The weather was at times a bit wild but it was all part of the trip. The van was well equipped, the heating was very good so we never felt cold and the bed was so comfy that we would have taken it home with us. because of the weather we ended up making cups of tea for the unfortunate family's trying to put up tents in heavy rain, when we were parked up we invited a sopping wet hiker to share some tea an biscuits, he was a Canadian post graduate space science student who showed us fantastic pictures of the Northern Lights he took while doing  research in Sweden. We also met Helmut a German cyclist who had run out of meths for his stove so we warmed up his beans and did some toast in the small but perfectly formed kitchen.

What we are saying is that its about the journey and the people you will meet, from the Farmer who let us feed one of his Highland Cows cattle nuts, to the strangers who invited us to wild camp in a beautiful location.

As for driving the van I was more than a little nervous at the prospect, but Gordon gave us lots of advice before we set off and was always available on the phone if needed.

Would we do this again?. Absolutely! we will be back. You see the thing about a having an adventure is that you want to go on another one.

Scottish Tourer Comment: The Highland cattle being fed in the above image was under a controled situation, with the permission of the farmer, and with special feeding. Please observe warnings on the danger posed by Highland cattle and take care when trying to photograph them in the wild, particularly when they are with calves.

Jun 2013 - Alisdair & Meg, Victoria, Australia

We had a wonderful 3 week Scottish holiday in a palatial Bessacar Motorhome. Everything we could possibly need was included & was immaculately clean. Corrine & Gordon were friendly & helpful right from our initial contact. They provide great & efficient customer service, we can't speak highly enough of them. Scotland turned on glorious weather for 2 ex pat Scots. In short, a memorable holiday and we have no hesitation in recommending Scottish Tourer.

Jun 2013 - The Humphries family, Akrotiri

We have just returned from a weeks holiday exploring Scotland in one of Scottish Tourers motorhomes and had a truly wonderful time. We recommend this company 100 percent and cannot fault the service we received.

We researched a great deal on the Internet trying to find a company and are so pleased that we chose Scottish Tourer. We hired a Swift 664 four berth which was the perfect size for our party of two adults and a five month old baby. The motorhome was in excellent condition and fully equipped with everything we needed to make our holiday enjoyable and comfortable. The service we received from Corinne and Gordon was second to none from the moment we first enquired about hiring from them to the moment we sadly returned our motor home at the end of our holiday. They could not do enough to help ensure that we had the perfect holiday.

We travelled from Perth, over to Fort William and Fort Augustus to search for Nessie, and then on to Inverness and back to Perth through the Cairngorm mountains. It was the perfect distance and amount of travelling to do with a small baby. The beauty of having a motorhome meant that we had the freedom to stop whenever we wanted to and had all home comforts close to hand.

If like us a few months ago, you are busy trawling the Internet looking for a suitable company to hire from and worried about making the right choice then look no further than Scottish Tourer. We cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Thank you Gordon and Corinne for a lovely holiday.

Jun 2013 - Paul & Jean Brightons

Once we had decided to tour the Western Isles we set about the task of hiring a Motor home. We settled on 'Scottish Tourer' having first digested all the information on their website. We have hired Motor homes in the past and have owned our own Touring Caravan so have a good idea of what is important.

Gordon and Corrine were very helpful and made booking a Motor home for our specific needs very simple. The booking process was very easy and stress free.

I picked up the Motor home and was immediately struck by the first class condition of this years Model. Gordon and Corrine gave a very comprehensive guide to the workings of our home for the coming week.
We had a fantastic holiday and visited 10 Islands and camped near Beaches and with Majestic views of the Outer Islands.

Would we use them again? Without a doubt! But when we do the Western Isles again we will take 2 weeks. One is just not long enough.

If you are thinking of Hiring a Motor home look no further.

Jun 2013 - Sue & Rob, Conwy, Wales

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic week touring the west coast of Scotland and Skye in uncharacteristically fine and dry weather in an Escape 664 motorhome. Our initial decision to use Scottish Tourers was largely based on the company's informative website and positive testimonials. Various queries we had regarding the hire were dealt with swiftly and comprehensively. On arriving in Perth, we were impressed by the attention to detail. Corinne and Gordon took considerable time to explain the various features of the vehicle and how to operate it, a particularly reassuring point as we were newcomers to motorhome holidays, Gordon also suggested a route taking in the main highlights and pointed out potential hazards on the road. The Escape 664 was well designed and equipped and perfect for our needs. We particularly appreciated the comfortable fixed bed, roomy bathroom, ample storage space and swivel driver's seat. The hire also included various additional items such as a barbecue, folding chairs and table, bike rack to make camping more enjoyable. Although we enjoyed our two nights spent on campsites, the highlight of the holiday was definitely the wild camping. Gordon and Corinne have produced a comprehensive list of suitable spots which we found invaluable. On returning the vehicle we also appreciated the fact that Gordon and Corinne were keen to hear our experiences and receive our feedback, despite having to prepare the vehicle for the next customer. This was the first time we had hired a motorhome from Scottish Tourers but it certainly won't be the last. We're definitely hooked!

Jun 2013 - David & Elizabeth, Warwick

Scottish Tourer is owned and managed by Gordon and Corinne who are passionate about touring in motor-homes and are keen to pass on their considerable knowledge and experiences to clients. They only hire out motor-homes which are less than one years old and, as such, are in excellent condition - mechanically sound and fully equipped/functioning interiors, and very comfortable to drive and live in. The personal service they offer is excellent. My wife, two daughters and I hired a 6 berth motor-home and spent seven days touring the Caingorms, the west coast and the Isle of Skye alternating between wild camps (such as Loch Morlich and Applecross Bay) and private campsites. Gordon's and Corinne's knowledge of wild campsites in Scotland is awesome. They were always just a phone call away 24/7 in case of problems. We have no hesitation in recommending their company to anyone considering touring Scotland. Many thanks to Gordon and Corinne for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable and memorable.

Jun 2013 - Mark & Alison, Bristol, England

Absolutely brilliant holiday, motor home and service. From the moment we found the website for Scottish Tourer we felt at ease to venture on our first holiday in a motor home. The help and advice received from Gordon & Corinne was excellent and helped so much in planning where to go, what to look out for and be aware of as well as advising on 'wild camp' spots - the best part of touring in a motor home. As other have said there are companies offering cheaper rentals - the motor home we hired was immaculate and lovely to drive, the power in the engine to tackle some of the hills was exceptional and made us feel safe and relaxed. We were extremely happy to have made the choice we did as we toured the West coast - helped to plan by Scottish Tourer.

We would not hesitate to recommend using Scottish Tourer to anybody - we did during our stay to people who commented how good the motor home looked and anyone who has asked of our experience have been left in no doubt that Scottish Tourer are an exceptional company who reflect their passion into their business. We will definitely be going back to them - hopefully to the islands next time! Thank you Gordon & Corinne.

Jun 2013 - Bert, Hans, Kees & Martin, The Netherlands

As whisky friends we had a great plan to make a Whisky Tour through Scotland. But how we were thinking. By car and B&B, organized by coach, or even by sailing yacht or maybe a motor home? After deliberation, thoroughly listing pros and cons we chose the option of a motor home. But that was easier said than done. Looking on the Internet it gave a long list of rental companies, intermediaries of private owned, quality and price differences.

After a comparison of our wish list we selected Scottish Tourer as the number one. From the beginning, after the first communications it felt really okay. We were well informed, got good tips in our further preparation of our Whisky Tour. As agreed, we were picked up from Edinburgh Airport to collect the motorhome at Scottish Tourer in Perth. During the trip we were very well briefed by Gordon, he gave us good information how to handle and drive the motorhome. In Perth we met our brand new 'house on wheels' for the coming week. What could we wish more, the motor home wasbrand new, very very complete, equipped as specified. We visited 12 distilleries started in Pitlochry, Skye, Alness, Nairn, Aberlour, Craigellachie, Keith, Ballater, Balmoral and back to Pitlochry.

Our Whisky Tour was very successful thanks to the high quality of service from Gordon & Corinne. We will definitely be back for another Whisky Tour!

May 2013 - Neil & Liz, Perthshire

Had a great holiday in your Scottish Tourer motor home. We have been recommending this type of holiday to everyone who knows us. We have already come across a few friends who are now considering this type of break. You make it easy for novices like us to feel assured that if there are any questions you are available over the phone at any time. The motor home was spotless and we found it easy to operate everything and were really impressed with the information that you gave us to help us plan our holiday. We managed to stop at a couple of wild camping spots and it was a great feeling when you are passing a really nice spot just to be able to stop and have a wee break. Only down side was the weather which was a bit mixed, but it certainly never put us off. We managed to get to everywhere that we had planned and would certainly do a motor home holiday again with Scottish Tourer.

May 2013 - Brian and Judy, Isle Of Man

Having just returned from two weeks holiday in Scotland in a motor home hired from ScottishTourers, we can thoroughly recommend this company's services to anyone who might be considering embarking on a similar venture. Because of their policy to renew their vehicles annually, you will be guaranteed a reliable, clean, well appointed motor home which is no more than twelve months old. This counts for a lot when considering the relative costs of different companies who hire out vehicles in this way.We can also, sadly, speak from bitter experience, of organisations who are nowhere near as diligent or attentive to detail, particularly with regard to road worthiness. BE WARNED, CHEAPEST IS RARELY BEST.
Gordon's advice when you collect your motor home is good - listen to him. He knows Scottish roads and speaks from experience. He will give you a good road atlas and advise you of roads which you should not attempt to venture down but others which can be negotiated with care will provide you with breathtaking views which, in our opinion are some of the best in the world.

Nothing in this world is perfect and things can go wrong. The spare 'leisure' battery on our vehicle proved to be faulty (bear in my mind that this was a brand new vehicle so this defect was a complete unknown). One telephone call summoned Gordon from Perth to Ullapool, which necessitated an overnight stop for him, with a replacement battery. For Scottish Tourers, nothing is too much trouble. Gordon and Corrine will provide you with a holiday which you will want to repeat again and again.

May 2013 - Paul, Yvonne, Richard and Joanne from Aylesbury Buckingham

Back from our mini tour of scotland ! ... I have to say it was the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen ! ... Gordon and corrine worked out a route so we managed to get the most from our week away ! ... The best place was applecross ' if anyone is touring scotland ' put that as your number one destination ' you won't be disappointed ! ... were so glad we chose scottish tourer motorhomes ' from the first phone call to returning the van ' we felt so at ease with corrine and gordon ! ... We have tried in the past to hire a motorhome to tour wales ' and were put off by the misleading information we were given ' so we did it doing bed and breakfast ! ... But when we decided to tour scotland ' we saw scottish tourer and gave them a try ' and were so glad we did ! ... Corrine and gordon couldn't have done more for us if they had tried ' and there so well organised 'and as they've toured for a number of years ' all of the motorhomes are equiped with all you could possibly need ! ... Were hoping to tour the east coast next year ' and rest assured it will be with scottish tourer ! ... So from yvonne ' richard ' joanne and myself ' a very big thankyou and see you again soon.

May 2013 - ALI, UAE

It was by pure chance that I came across Scottish Tourer when I was on the lookout for a campervan rental agency on Google. But having read their website, Being a fairly experienced campervan vacationer (though previously only in New Zealand and Australia), I was convinced that they were the one for me. They seemed to be really focused on the customer and service seems to be of high priority. Not only that, I was attracted by the strategy of using only late models of vehicles (really, none of their vehicle is over 6 months old). I love new things.

I was not wrong. Our brief but thoroughly enjoyable and fulfilling week long (6 days to be precise due to time constraints) vacation on a Bessacar top-of-line luxury campervan was something we will always remember. From the time, I made the very first enquiry to the time we were dropped off at the Glasgow airport, customer service by Gordon and Corinne was personalised and top-notch. They responded promptly to emails, recommended hotels to stay-in before and after the vehicle was picked up, took time to explain a proposed itinerary of the Highlands and Western Coast, ensured cleanliness of the vehicle, and post hire, ensure prompt settlement of the paperwork and deposit refunds. I also appreciate their recommendation for good seafood restaurants, but unfortunately did not get the chance to try those as I took short-cuts away from the routes they had suggested.

Based on their suggestions, it would have taken a good two weeks to see the central and western part of Scotland and we only have half of that. So we improvised and did a whirlwind circuit with one night in each of the following locations (wild camping unless stated) : Cairngorm Mountains Ski Area (near Aviemore), Cove on Loch Ewe, Staffin camp site on Isle of Skye, Ben Nevis Park, near Ardlui on bank of Loch Lomond, and Blairlogie Witches Craig camp site near Stirling (which was amazing).

In having several conversations before and after the hire, I realised many little things that Gordon and Corinne do that may not be apparent. They want their customers to have a great time during their vacation and heard them share various stories about how they go out the way to ensure this.

To give a completely balanced view, I have to give some issues I encountered during this trip but not all of them can be avoided. The weather unfortunately was not cooperating as it was unseasonally wet (5 out of the 6 days it was raining), had problems with the satellite TV and was not working for half of the trip, and there was an temporary problem with the rear-view camera which was promptly fixed by me after some simple troubleshooting. Also, frankly, Perth is a little out of the way if you are arriving from Glasgow and is in my case, had to put up one night each way in a hotel due to the international flights. However, it was not all bad as I see it as an opportunity to experience beautiful Scotland in a different way. The cost was not the lowest; look elsewhere is you want a cheap deal but from my viewpoint, it was money well-spent . Also, the package had everything included (except bedding/towels) so before you compare with others, see what is optional.

I would highly recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone seeking a high quality (dare I say luxury), value for money campervan hire.

Scottish Tourer Comment: The satellite dish for the TV needs a clear uninterrupted view of the Sky things such as, Hills, Trees, buildings etc will cause weak or no signal, However there is a DVD player fitted to all our Motorhomes, The weather... Oh how we wish we could control this ... Unfortunately this week was particularly wet all over Europe so was just not a Scottish thing. Perth is equidistant around one hour away from the 3 Major Airports in Scotland and is on the border between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands which we believe makes Perth the Ideal place to start a Motorhome Holiday...

We have hired previously from Gordon and Corinne and after the great motorhome holiday we had the last time, we had no hesitation in hiring from them again. The motorhome we were provided with was brand new, equipped to the highest standard and was immaculately clean. The exclusive wild camping list that Gordon and Corinne have compiled was invaluable in helping us pre plan our trip around the west coast and western isles of Scotland. The pictures below show two of the lovely spots we stayed overnight on Harris.

We will definitely be back to hire from Scottishtourer again and thank Gordon and Corinne for there warm, friendly and thoroughly comprehensive service.

We had an amazing time touring around the Highlands and Islands of Scotland within the UK using a Fiat 644 motor home from Scottish Tourer. The vehicle was absolutely fantastic and the additional features installed provided a luxurious home for the period of our 12 day holiday. Both Gordon and Corinne were exceptionally helpful and provide a very good service. Holiday to remember and definitely recommended.

Apr 2013 - The Davidson Family, Forfar

This was a brand new way of holidaying for us, and something we had wanted to do for quite a while.  After a week of touring the Outer Hebrides and Skye we came back having had a terrific time with some excellent weather along the way.  Gordon and Corinne were both extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional.  From our initial enquiry right through to the end of the hire we knew we were dealing with good people, and the vehicle that was home to us for the week was superb, spacious and comprehensively kitted out.  Overall, the whole experience was a positive one for us and I am certain that it is something we will do again.

We were more than happy to choose scottshtourer motorhome because we really felt we were dealing with a another couple somewhere in scotland who really wanted us to have a great holiday. Being french, we like to complain but didn't find much to say.... great help and advice from the beginning : we almost changed all our previous plans to go with your last minute advice just before taking the motorhome. Going for less route (not more than 150km a day) to be able to really enjoy each place with one stop a day. The motorhome we had being the top class one was just a palace inside and us only being a couple really felt super confortable all the way. I already had the chance to use a motorhome once before with my dad's and remembered the pain when driving up a hill at 90 km/h maximum! This one could stay in 6th gear up to 120km/h in a hill! No problem...
And the most important, the country is just amazing, we stayed 10 days and will advice all future customers of scottish tourer to go up to inverness with a quick stop a Blair Castle/House of Bruar - to then pitstop around Fort George for the night. And then spend all your time on the west coast + Skye which is the place to be. Applecross area and its road is a no miss - if you get the sun it will be a highlight of your stay.
We will conclude on the fact that you don't get much sun in scotland, but in april we had it 50% of the time still. And the scenery on the mountains with the snow at the peak is even more enjoyable when having wind and rain, it really feels like a pure scottish experience. With some Talisker in your motorhome you always find something to drink when looking at the view.

Again, you can really trust Gordon & Corrine 100% percent, and I was not paid to write this message... unlike many messages you can read on testimonials. ScottishTourer is just the way not to have any surprise for your motorhome scottish holidays.

Enjoy...

Apr 2013 - Ken & Jane, Edinburgh

Before writing this review, I thought I would have a look at previous testimonials on the website and I am hard pressed to find something new to say, as I can only agree with the comments about the helpfulness and expertise of Gordon and Corinne and the beautiful brand new motorhome that they trusted us with!
This was a first foray for us into motorhoming and the realisation of an ambition to see something of our own beautiful country, after years of foreign travel. The motorhome turned out to be a perfect way to do this and we were blessed with wonderful weather - although the nights were freezing, this didn't bother us because of the heating system.

As we were visiting the islands of the Outer Hebrides, Ken had done a certain amount of planning and booking ferries to ensure we could get from island to island, but within the plan we enjoyed the freedom to change our minds and although we did mostly use sites,it is reassuring to know that if you don't find anything suitable you can be self sufficient.
One thing that no one had told us about was that as soon as you are driving a motorhome you become a member of an unofficial 'club', as the drivers give each other a little acknowledging wave as they pass by - a nice touch of old fashioned courtesy, in this modern age.

The trip was a great success and I'm sure we will have more in the future. We would not hesitate to recommend Scottish Tourer as they really seem to care that their customers have a great experience.

Apr 2013 - The Gheleyns Family, Kain, Belguim

We are just back from a one-week sunny (but cold) holiday in Scotland where we really had a nice stay. As a family with 4 young kids (aged 8 tot 4), we thought a motorhome would be the best solution to travel through the country, and we were right.
When we arrived at the airport in Edinburgh Gordon came and fetched us up. Gordon and Corinne then took all the necessary time to provide us the information we needed not just about the motorhome itself, they also gave us advice on where to go, what to see, where tot eat, which way to drive (or not!). We also received leaflets with things to do and see and a handy road map with personal annotations (very useful !).During the holiday Gordon and his wife were available to answer our questions. So it was not just motorhome rental, it really was a full and professional service.

In the motorhome self, everything was very clean and well prepared and we found everything we needed. It was very comfortable and practical. While driving, the kids could read, play, watch DVD's or even sleep. We used to decide where to sleep at the end of each day... sleeping in the nature (wild camping is common in Scotland) of in a campsite (no reservation on forehand, place everywhere and always a good contact with kind people). The motorhome gave us a great feeling of freedom and intimacy at the same time... I recommend it for everyone who loves the nature . As far as we are concerned we're looking forward to coming back to Scotland next year!

Apr 2013 - John and Catherine, Essex

Despite the (mostly) very wet, windy and cold weather we experienced on our April Scottish adventure, we absolutely loved our first experience of motorhoming. We hired the fabulous motorhome from Gordon and Corrine for two weeks and wild camped many of those nights in the Highlands and Islands plus a few nights at some excellent Camping and Caravanning Club sites. We also witnessed the motorhome drivers'waving club as we travelled around.
The motorhome bed was extremely comfortable, the heating and hot water were so efficient and the storage for all our effects was amazing. We especially loved sitting in the comfortable lounge area with a glass of wine and wee dram while the weather did its worst outside-nothing could be cosier!
The list of wild camping spots provided to us was extremely helpful and we found some new spots of our own too. We found the motorhome very easy to drive and manouevre, and covered many miles on a variety of roads. Gordon and Corrine have been excellent throughout the build up to and during our trip. Everytime we had a question it was answered in minutes if not seconds at any time of the day and wherever they were.
We have definitely fallen in love with motorhoming and it has given us the confidence to try it further afield in Europe and the USA. We would definitely recommend Scottish Tourer to anyone.
