If you like castles, Scotland has plenty of them:  Craigievar Castle looks as though it’s come straight from a fairytale. Fyvie Castle is an another outstanding example of Scottish baronial architecture. Castle Fraser is for many the Scottish citadel par excellence, its turrets commanding the scene as visitors approach down the Broad Walk.

Set amid the stunning scenery of the Cairngorm mountains, 17th century Braemar Castle is appropriately spectacular, with castellated turrets, a star-shaped curtain wall and a bottle-necked dungeon. The magnificent ruin of Huntly Castle is majestically sited where the rivers Bogie and Deveron join, on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Huntly.
